Anyone in the North East?

Gateshead has just been added to the govt watchlist and Newcastle is on amber alert. Sunderland have had over 200 cases in the past seven days.

Are we next for a local lockdown? What do you think it will entail? Given Newcastle's reputation as a party city I'm guessing restricted hours for bars maybe - they were packed to the rafters over the August bank holiday weekend, which may account for lots of the new cases.

Ooh, can't believe I've missed this thread.

I had a baby 6 days ago so I'm watching these new restrictions with a mixture of horror and relief.

My son's school emailed to say there were 3 positive cases today. He's not been in close contact but now I'm freaking out about my newborn.

It must be worrying for you though. As Neurotrash said afaik you (baby!) should be fine.

The numbers in Northumberland are alarming, even in march lockdown they were not this high. I'm seriously considering having a cough and keeping them home the next 14 days to see how this pans out.

Has anyone managed to get a home test anywhere in the north east? If so, what time of day did you try? I’m having no luck trying to get one for my DD.

Yes I booked one in stockton on Tues. Took about three hours to get the booking but after that the process was very smooth. I finally got booked just after 11, started at about 8
