Full of snot, ears hurt and blocked, sinus pain, sore throat and achy limbs. No temp or cough. I can’t smell anything, but my nose is completely blocked.
My DS had it first and brought it back from nursery, he’s fine now.

Yep, DH, DD and I,the week before last. It's bad!

hopeforlucky3 · 01/09/2020 19:56

My sisters got it and I'm hearing reports from primary school that it's doing the rounds. Hopefully it skips me Confused

Aquamarine1029 · 01/09/2020 19:56

I've had blocked ears and a horrible sore throat all day. I can't imagine where I picked it up from.

Pesimistic · 01/09/2020 19:58

Movement05 · 01/09/2020 20:00

Yes, I've had the same symptoms as you OP for the last two weeks. The last cold I had that was this severe was years ago. One of DC's classmates has it too. It's definitely a thing!

PrivateD00r · 01/09/2020 20:03

We are all just getting over it, we cannot believe we caught it with how careful we have all been and wearing masks when out!

HairyFloppins · 01/09/2020 20:06

Yes my two had it last week.

Cafedrama · 01/09/2020 20:08

Glad it’s not just us!

Those who have had it, how long does it take to get over?

Yep. All got it here. I think I'm coming out the other side after 8 days, it's awful.

jbee1979 · 01/09/2020 20:13

I would say day 1 was bad, 2&3 were GRIM, 4&5 were better but still rough, and beyond that it was just bleurrrgh for 2 or 3 days. Early nights, decongestants, plenty to drink, and eat what you need. The sore throat was so bad I gargled salt water and nearly vomited. Never again! Test for covid at works request, negative X3.

PrivateD00r · 01/09/2020 20:19

I felt pretty awful for a week. Had a terrible cough and sore throat, muscle aches, congestion etc. Negative covid test.

Choppedupapple · 01/09/2020 20:39

Week 2 of awful cold here, Covid test negative, just a bastard of a cold

PeskyRooks · 01/09/2020 20:50

Yes!! Me & dd2 have got it! Thought we were the only ones! How have we managed to catch a cold with all the mask wearing and social distancing??!
And last night I had the first asthma attack for about a year too.

Discobar · 01/09/2020 21:03

I guess everyone's immune system has weakened through lockdown

macaroniinapot · 01/09/2020 21:04

My toddler has it badly bless her and I think it's heading our way. I woke up with the strangest ear pressure and noise. In my morning haze I started to panic there was a spider or similar trapped in there haha

MrsMcMuffins · 01/09/2020 21:06

Yes we have had it and also very upset stomach for days. Anyone else had the upset stomach?

yarncakes · 01/09/2020 21:08

I had a cold last week which I had to get tested for as I'm an essential worker (negative). Now my entire family have got a cold.. Brilliant. Welcome back, Winter lol.

HairyToity · 01/09/2020 21:10

Yes I have it too. Hadn't considered that our immune systems have weakened.

SRK16 · 01/09/2020 21:13

Me too. Felt a bit off for two days, then day three worse, day four really really unwell, started thinking it might be covid (it wasn’t). Then slowly better. Though I’m on day eight now and still not back to normal. My son is on day ten and still off. Hopefully soon....

mommybear1 · 01/09/2020 21:15

Thank you for this thread both toddler DS and I have had this it's getting on for 9 days now and I thought it was going but today my throat has flared up again - I've even googled COVID symptoms repeatedly to check! No clue how we got it given extra hand washing precautions and masks!

Redlocks28 · 01/09/2020 21:20

Yep-I have it, just in time to go back to work. Blocked nose, blocked ears, scratchy throat, achy limbs, can’t think straight-feel like poop!

KTD27 · 01/09/2020 21:23

Yes!! My mum got it about ten days ago. DS started last week then DD. Me and DH this weekend and of course he is dying. We are all on our way out but he’s gone for a test because man. So shall get a result tomorrow and then I can feel free to remove sympathy for him just being a weaker specimen. Joking. Not joking.
‘Tis a Horrid horrid cold.

KTD27 · 01/09/2020 21:24

Have realised that makes not a lot of sense.
We are on our way out of illness / symptoms. The kids have been very hardy. I felt like CRAP days 1-3 but DH suffering like nobody else on his day 3 so test he has had

bumblebeebiz · 01/09/2020 21:26

I've got it now Sad
But the govt info about testing is so awful.
Scottish govt have pretty clear guidance that if it's not a continuous cough, high temp or loss of taste/smell then you don't need a test, but nothing like that from BJ.

amysaurus87 · 01/09/2020 21:26

Yep, I've had it to. Stuffy nose, sore throat, horrific cough (negative COVID test) sore muscles and generally feeling like crap!

Just coming out of it now at 8 days after I caught it.
