Full of snot, ears hurt and blocked, sinus pain, sore throat and achy limbs. No temp or cough. I can’t smell anything, but my nose is completely blocked.
My DS had it first and brought it back from nursery, he’s fine now.

Reading advice on Scotland last night I took from it we didn't need tests for sore throats.

Site throat runny nose and noe I have an infrequent cough that is phlegmy sounding.

These are not covid symptoms or am I missing something.?

As for looking at our "covid protection strategy", my DC is back at school and chunks of classes are off ill!

Sorry that should read : "Sore throat, runny nose and now I have an infrequent, phlegmy cough."

Did anyone have a mild fever with it?

@fleurdeliz

I've got it. Missed first day of work yesterday and got tested - negative.

Cough, fever, achy, headache etc etc. But not Covid.

Just bear in mind that 30% of tests done on people with actual proper covid will give a false negative result. With your symptoms (all three of the core covid symptoms) I would be careful still even with that negative result - I certainly wouldn't go mixing with vulnerable family members for instance. I mean I'm sure you probably wouldn't anyway, but don't assume that whatever you've got has been proven definitely not to be covid, because you can't really take that from the test result.

Yes, the false negative rate is high. And I don't even know if that 30% only applies to people tested in the right time window, and is even higher outside that or if it is a home test poorly administered.

There is not doubt that a high number of people who test negative do have Covid.

What to do with that information in the various different work/life situations people have I don't know.

Also if any of you have a lack of smell/taste then be wary and get a test.

If you are spreading colds around, then you could be spreading covid around.

Perhaps we all need to review our sd.

I had nausea and loss of appetite and slight headache, feeling tired, chills. I think the headache was related to sinus pressure - this is still ongoing although other symptoms abated. Sounds like a different thing to this cold/ virus many of you are talking about. Think I picked it up from DS3 (nursery) or shopping - stupidly put my finger in my mouth to pick something out of my tooth after I’d used a card machine. They had provided hand sanitiser but it had run out!
Definitely a reminder that covid isn’t the only bug/ virus out there Envy

Newjez my DC caught the cold in school.
Adequate social distancing in classrooms is not possible as they are a sharing the same air for hours on end.
