I currently know 0 so far luckily.

OP posts:
ShinyGreenElephant · 30/08/2020 21:57

7 I knew personally, 2 died the rest were ill but didn't need hospital treatment. I know of another 4 (relatives but couldn't pick them out of a lineup) and a close friend of my mum who I've not met, who has been in hospital with it since early May

QuitMoaning · 30/08/2020 21:57

I know 4 who have just tested positive, all from same family. Not related but we are close to the whole family so I am doing all the shopping and errands for them and leaving on their doorstep.

I know of one death (sister of a colleagues sister in law).

FoolsAssassin · 30/08/2020 21:58

2 confirmed, they are fairly ok now
2 members of DH’s wider family have died
In addition 7 died who I know of through friends rather than directly

We were all ill with COVID symptoms (4 of us) following DC having contact with members of a school trip back from N. Italy, I am still wheezing over 5 months later. No testing was available so no idea what it was.

Macarena1990 · 30/08/2020 21:59

0 - London. Don't even know of anyone who knows anyone who has had it either!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/08/2020 22:00

Three.

One neighbour who was hospitalised by the pneumonia he got as a complication. He's home well now.
Two colleagues from school who had been in the hub on the rota. One recovered quickly, the other was poorly for 6 weeks with it.

ifeellikeanidiot · 30/08/2020 22:01

2 people from my work- both said horrific. One blue lit to hospital but then sent home to manage on own. The other says truly horrific. Both are black. The guy is in 50s, the woman is in late 30s, has asthma.

The guy who runs our local shop. He was off for two months. Fine now but hasn't recovered full use of one of his hands. He's in his 50s and Asian.

One if DHs colleagues. Early 40s, mixed race. He's also a neighbour so I saw him when he first started to leave house again. He was a wreck. He's fine now but it was a slow road back.

Another of DHs colleagues. White, early 60s. Dont know much about that.

Its hit communities really differently. I'm in south London. One of my colleagues is Jamaican and his wife is also black. Him, his wife and his two adult daughters all know people who have died - these are different people.

BonnesVacances · 30/08/2020 22:01

My immediate family of 4 where 18 yo DD has had Long Covid for 4 months and is deteriorating every week.

In my extended family another 5 have had it.

I have 4 friends who've had it.

All in different parts of the UK, so we haven't passed it around!

everythingisginandroses · 30/08/2020 22:01

Couple of dozen of us across mine and DH's offices developed fever, cough, exhaustion, shortness of breath in mid-March. Plus 3 family members and 1 friend elsewhere in the country. None of tested as they were only testing people in ICU. A couple of us got worried enough to call the paramedics. I feel better now, but it took months, it was fucking gash. A gentleman in our martial arts school died of it.

delilahbucket · 30/08/2020 22:01

2, one asymptomatic, one severely poorly but not hospitalised, and is now socialising her 94 year old mum (who didn't catch it despite living together) with all the grandkids in a local restrictions area 🙄. Interestingly, no one else in either household caught it.

AHintOfStyle · 30/08/2020 22:03

Wondering what @womenhour hoped to achieve from her OP??

Sewsosew · 30/08/2020 22:05

3 and 2 died.
We probably did have it (negative test results) but I was poorly for 6 weeks.
My friend and her family probably had it but it was pre-community testing in March.

MojoJojo71 · 30/08/2020 22:05

At least 20 that I can think of off the top of my head. Two of my work colleagues lost their mothers and my dad lost his sister and his best friend

Elsaletmyballoongo · 30/08/2020 22:05

1 suspected mild case
0 confirmed

4 confirmed cases, all in their forties/fifties. 2 very mild. 1 in ICU for 2 weeks in March, still in recovery. 1 dead, slightly overweight but no underlying health conditions.

  1. My mum who was quite poorly but not hospitalised and my step dad who was fine apart from his sense of smell and taste was lost for about a week. Both tested positive back in April
purplechairandcat · 30/08/2020 22:08
  1. 1 person is now dealing with kidney failure, another is still experiencing symptoms 4 months later.

20+ Of those 12 confirmed by tests and 8 pretty sure they had it. All over UK.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 30/08/2020 22:09

Loads unconfirmed (London, circle who commute daily, all displayed symptoms early on in March/April before tests were widely available) and none hospitalised.

mallowa · 30/08/2020 22:10

Northernsoullover · 30/08/2020 22:14

Personal friends who had it and were confirmed, 4 one was hospitalised. My SILs granny died of it, and my mums next door neighbours died of it. (a couple in their 90s Sad) My other friend swears she had it in March and considering she still has no sense of smell I'd say she did too.

BrigitsBigKnickers · 30/08/2020 22:14

Three- friend right at the start of the pandemic, one of MiLs friend who caught it in hospital and another friend of my dad's. All relatively mild cases.
