With spas etc opening on Monday and pools and gyms on the 25th I am just wondering what else there is that remains closed?

OP posts:
Ffsseriously · 09/07/2020 18:20

@Sparklingbrook beauty salons opening but sadly no facial treatments allowed.

Sparklingbrook · 09/07/2020 18:20
@sparklingbrook no face treatments allowed yet. Even when beauticians open from Monday. The guardian has an article on it.

Treatments from the neck down only. I'm desperate to get an eyebrow wax!
So I can have a Hollywood wax but not my eyebrows shaped and tinited? Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/07/2020 18:21

tinted even

RichardMarxisinnocent · 09/07/2020 18:25

@KoalasandRabbit

Lundy Island
Coincidentally I was randomly looking at the Lundy island website about 5 minutes ago - it's open for overnight stays but not for day trips.
Furrybutts · 09/07/2020 18:31

Swingers clubs and massage parlours still closed, and some owners are saying it might be late 2021 before they can get their licences back Sad

PicsInRed · 09/07/2020 18:32

Schools, childcare and basically things women either need or like to do. Hmm

Lyricallie · 09/07/2020 18:35

I know we're Scotland but I think this one is still the same in England but advice on wedding receptions. We still really don't know what we're going to do. Keep fingers and toes crossed for October!

dementedma · 09/07/2020 18:38

"Non-essential" offices here in Scotland. Apparently its ok to sell burgers, pull pints and file nails, but not to return to your desk and answer the phone!

hopefulhalf · 09/07/2020 18:40

Very glad swimming pools are coming back especially as it means we will have one on our holiday now grin. DD has been waiting 3 years for an orthodontist appointment, think that will be put back for a long time again.

Dd went to the orthodontist last week Confused

Bluebellpainting · 09/07/2020 18:41

Play groups. First time mum and all of my local friends don’t have children so feeling left out on not having those as an option to make friends. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal compared to what others need but I am missing them. That and being able to play netball- it was my one bit of me time each week.

Tigger03 · 09/07/2020 18:43

The no facial treatments is so frustrating - my eyebrows are getting to chewbacca levels! Fail to see the difference between that and a leg wax.

VoyageInTheDark · 09/07/2020 18:47

Toddler playgroups, soft play and the library are all things my dd still can't go to

tootiredtospeak · 09/07/2020 18:47

Dentists we all need a check up been delayes since April and my DS is desperate for his brace removing

Mumtumwobble · 09/07/2020 18:49

Totally ridiculous that a man can get his beard trimmed not wearing a mask, but a woman can’t have her eyebrows threaded wearing a mask. Bloody misogynistic government! As long as men are ok that’s alright then.

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 09/07/2020 18:49

Spas aren’t opening, just swimming pools and beauty salons. At least, the guidance says saunas and steam rooms aren’t allowed to open yet.

But more importantly-

Indoor youth groups. I work for a charity that runs mobile youth groups. I think we may be going to go under.

Children’s routine hospital appointments (just been told our October one will be a phone appointment so by the next one in January it will have been a year since he was seen)

Libraries - round here you can reserve a book online and collect it, but that’s not helpful for children who need to look at books to know what they want to read

SimonJT · 09/07/2020 18:50

@lljkk

Is contact sport like rugby now allowed? Judo?
Rugby is back mid August, we entered phase 2 (contact) training on Monday.
JellyBabiesSaveLives · 09/07/2020 18:51

Oh, and should I mention schools? Grin

SimonJT · 09/07/2020 18:51

Our barbers aren’t do any beard trims, but when you think about it a beard really isn’t any different to have your fringe/front of your hair cut. So it does seem a bit stupid.
Staffy1 · 09/07/2020 19:09

Private hospitals for any face to face appointments, and NHS on a full scale for routine appointments.

RickSanchez · 09/07/2020 19:16

I'm a permanent makeup artist and can't reopen. No one, including beauticians is allowed to do treatments on the face.

onedayinthefuture · 09/07/2020 19:27

@Bluebellpainting netball should be allowed back under the new guidance. It mentions cleaning the ball when it goes off play.... hmmm. The ball sports mentioned football, basketball and cricket. Women's sport always gets forgotten but it would be the same principle.

Snailsetssail · 09/07/2020 19:33

Soft play

FrugiFan · 09/07/2020 19:50

@Sparklingbrook

Oh so they are opening beauty places on monday. So begins the dilemma of do I really need my eyebrows/lashes/nails done or is it going to be a risk?
Do it. Your beautician needs your custom to keep her business afloat.
BabyLlamaZen · 09/07/2020 20:12

Baby and toddler groups, inside soft play. A part of me wants them open, another doesn't think I'll want to go anyway. With the singing and keeping all the toys clean, it's not likely.

steppemum · 09/07/2020 20:16

churches.

We would love ot meet again on a Sunday, but we can't and when we do, we won't be allowed to sing! (which is kind of an essential part of the service)
