With spas etc opening on Monday and pools and gyms on the 25th I am just wondering what else there is that remains closed?

Firef1y72 · 09/07/2020 17:50

@shadyzadie

Waxonwaxoff0 · 09/07/2020 17:51

Nightclubs, theatres. They will probably stay closed for a while.

foreverblowingbubbles87 · 09/07/2020 17:51

@TooGood2BeTrue swimming pools
Open on the 25th

Very glad swimming pools are coming back especially as it means we will have one on our holiday now Grin. DD has been waiting 3 years for an orthodontist appointment, think that will be put back for a long time again.

Play group and

museum near me will open 30th July

Sparklingbrook · 09/07/2020 17:53

Oh so they are opening beauty places on monday. So begins the dilemma of do I really need my eyebrows/lashes/nails done or is it going to be a risk?

foreverblowingbubbles87 · 09/07/2020 17:54

@MarshaBradyo oh that's good. Where in the UK are you? I'm wanting playgroups to open as I'm fed up of being stuck in.

cookiemonster5 · 09/07/2020 17:55

Hospitals.

My son can't get his medication because the clinic is closed and he is suffering.

But that's ok. My social media feed is full of happy people because they can get a date for their hair cut, have had a pint in the pub and have gotten their shopping fix in. You know - all the important stuff is open.

MarshaBradyo · 09/07/2020 17:56

Oh no I meant to split it out, only museum on 30th July

Playgroup no idea still. Such a shame, dd loved it and due to their renovation hasn’t been since February. Age two so prime time

I’m SE London

WanderingMilly · 09/07/2020 17:57

Lots is still closed (not even counting Leicester!)
Indoor swimming pools, some shops, spa hotels, libraries. Can't go for afternoon tea at most hotels (seem to be opening in August but for staying over guests only, not for teas).
Lots of NT properties and those that are open don't have cafes properly open, take-away only.
Skating rinks...I have friends desperate to go skating but rinks fall in-between culture/sport venues and seem to have been forgotten.
And homes!! Can't seem to have lots of family round unless they are sitting in a rain-sodden garden.....

cantkeepawayforever · 09/07/2020 17:57

Anywhere where live music is played inside - jazz clubs, theatres, concert halls, bars [allowed to open but no music].

Therefore anywhere where live music is studied / rehearsed - conservatoires, weekend music schools, county music groups, orchestras, choirs, face to face lessons on any wind / brass instruments or for singers....

So jazz student DS still has nothing and nothing on the horizon for return to conservatoire in September. Dancer DD will be glad to hear about the dance studios ....shame that it is after the Summer term finishes...

foreverblowingbubbles87 · 09/07/2020 17:58

@WanderingMilly swimming pools are the 25th and spas are from Monday.

Lundy Island

DreamingofSunshine · 09/07/2020 18:00

I'm waiting for children's classes and soft play to open.

Deelish75 · 09/07/2020 18:02

What about children's swimming lessons? Or will that be down to the leisure centre?

SimonJT · 09/07/2020 18:06

I have already booked in a session with my PT, I have some serious bulking ahead!

MabelMoo23 · 09/07/2020 18:09

Conference and Exhibition centres! Conference venues.

Events are worth £70bn to the U.K. economy and we are on our knees with no date for reopening. Venue staff, agencies, contractors - all waiting to hear when they can work again - if there is even a job to go back to

lljkk · 09/07/2020 18:13

Is contact sport like rugby now allowed? Judo?

danni0509 · 09/07/2020 18:15

@cookiemonster5 shocking, my son is waiting on medical appointments too. Hope your son is ok x

Oddgirlout · 09/07/2020 18:16

Churches aren't really fully open at all

AgnesNaismith · 09/07/2020 18:16

Private hospitals.....

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 09/07/2020 18:17

Soft play and trampoline parks!

kissmysass · 09/07/2020 18:18

@sparklingbrook no face treatments allowed yet. Even when beauticians open from Monday. The guardian has an article on it.

Treatments from the neck down only. I'm desperate to get an eyebrow wax!
