Nothing much different here. I did go into my first local shop to buy a birthday gift for my dsis. It felt very strange to be in a shop.
Other than that I went to the supermarket and did my Saturday chores at home.

DD got her haircut, just tidying it up after she cut it herself from long to a bob. DS (ASD) was supposed to go too but decided its not necessary to ever have a haircut so he's still got lockdown hair.

Then DS and DH went to walk an alpaca, feed it and have a cream tea and they had a lovely time. DD didn't want to go and I stayed home with her and we just chatted. Had chinese takeaway. Was a nice day.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 05/07/2020 00:41

Well I'm in locked down Leicester so even less than last Saturday! Sad I had to take a duvet to the laundrette and sit there til it finished, did some gardening, filled out a job application and played a game with my kids.

@Qasd

Really pleased to see how much the locals have come out to support local businesses. Social distanced but Local pubs and restaurants have Attracted custom which I am really pleased about! We had a pint in a local bear garden was lovely!
Bear garden? That is cool. Were the bears quite tame then? We don't have any bears at my local but there is a cat cafe in my city Grin

I am coming out of cocooning due to health issues. I will go to pub or for coffee soon but want to give it a few days first- I am concerned that with the novelty of most htings being open it could get a bit too crowded for me. Another concern I woudl have is I use public transport and have a disability. Finding a seat for me near the front often a challenge but with social distancing on the buses, even more so. I have been going out a bit here and there though, for essential jourmeys and more recently just for fun. My mental health took a battering again over lockdown so I tried to balance staying home with not being cooped up. This with my doctors, care workers and therapists blessing.

My friend sold her house this week, and is moving to Spain once the sale goes through, so we had an Indian takeaway and a glass of wine to celebrate. It was nice, given the rain and wind, to be able to sit in the house and eat, instead of huddling in opposite corners of my gazebo in the garden as we have done for the last few weeks.

TimeWastingButFun · 05/07/2020 01:25

Nothing exciting except I got birthday balloons for my son's birthday from a local shop.

SimonJT · 05/07/2020 01:53

I had rugby training first thing so I took my son with me while my boyfriend babysat the new landshark (shiba inu pup).

My barber came round to give us all haircuts so we look far less nutty now, I had an impressive yet tragic man bun going on.

We had our usual saturday walk to the park so my son could have a run around and have a picnic lunch.

Once my son was in bed we did our usual of getting in the bath together and watching an episode of schitts creek. Boyfriend is usually in bed by 9:30, so once hes asleep I get up again play a bit of piano, read and play some zelda.

Spent it bemused by the British need to pour pint after pint of beer down their throats as though it's the only thing that matters in life.

I suppose lots of people will be going to work on Monday to make unfunny jokes about how much they drank.

Yawn.

lilgreen · 05/07/2020 07:15

@PJ6M please don’t lump all British people together because of the few you have seen.

Emmie12345 · 05/07/2020 07:16

@SimonJT rugby training ? Has your club resumed
?

lilgreen · 05/07/2020 07:21

We played tennis in the park, did a food shop, walked the dog in a country park, made a curry, watched TV.

starrynight19 · 05/07/2020 07:51

Ds said his restaurant seemed quiet even though they were fully booked due to all the social distancing.

Same old day as any. Feeling nauseous from morning til night with this pregnancy and watching telly and laughing and chatting with dh

Bluesheep8 · 05/07/2020 08:10

Same as any other Saturday since March. Bit of housework, popped to small local shop, cooked a nice meal, drank wine.

zafferana · 05/07/2020 08:11

Very envious of anyone who got their hair done yesterday - I couldn't get an appointment until 30th July Envy

My DH and two DSs went to the barbers though (appt made by me!) so they were VERY happy after four months of no haircuts. Then we had one family over for a BBQ in the evening. It wasn't exactly SD, because we were all sitting around our dining table, which isn't 8m long, but we didn't touch one another in greeting and I did a very thorough cleaning before/after. It was nice to have some friends over Smile

Yeah we went back a few weeks ago, we can move onto stage 2 training (contact) tomorrow. Union premiership is due to be back on from the 14th August, no news about other leagues yet.

Seashell80 · 05/07/2020 09:46

We are in the leicester 'hot' zone so I went to work-essential worker, came home, made tea and watched The last Kingdom with a vat of wine! Really unexciting day. I don't actually want to go to the pub but seeing everyone enjoying a beer garden made me a bit sad ☹️

GlottalStrop · 05/07/2020 10:00

Went to the Trafford Centre in Manchester wearing a mask. I was in the extreme minority, fellow mask wearers and I stood out and drew glances.

In the shops I went into I was reassured by seeing the staff wearing them but hardly any other fucker was.

Oustide was bedlam, not just ignoring 1-2 metres, ignoring anything. One non-mask wearing man elbowed me out of the way practically growling with irritation.

Didn't have a chance to check out the food/restaurant area but glad I didn't take DC there and, I'll stick to online for now I think.

feelingverylazytoday · 05/07/2020 10:11

I had my normal day caring for my daughter. Lots of walking as usual. Our little town is coming back to life now and it's lovely to see. It had been flourishing over the last few years after the low point of the 2008 recession and I hope it can pick up again. Fortunately we're not plagued by a lot of antisocial wankers, most people are able to socialise responsibly.

whichteaareyou · 05/07/2020 10:12

This was it in my house

So how did super Saturday look for you ?
MabelMoo23 · 05/07/2020 10:15

Went to see my uncle as it was his 60th, was nice to be able to see him and not worry about being inside (two households) as it was raining. My Mum is shielding so she couldn’t go and see him which was a shame.

Then home for takeaway and watching Ozark. Got 2 young children so pubs are out

So not particularly exciting, just nice

Samcj02 · 05/07/2020 13:10

I didn’t go out..but the pubs in my local area were busy... 4 pubs got closed by police due to antisocial behaviour and having too many people in/no social distancing! X

HeIenaDove · 05/07/2020 16:07

In answer to your question OP. Hypocritical Thats how "super Saturday looked here.

Walked past a barbers in town yesterday and no masks or visors being worn.

No one seemed bothered. Just checked local fb groups and no one has said a word.

They had plenty to say when some people wernt wearing masks on buses even when it was pointed out that some will be exempt due to medical conditions. Nope Not good enough apparently.

But this barbers. Radio silence.

Amazing how a blind eye is turned when it involves something they want..............like a haircut.

mum2jakie · 05/07/2020 19:21

Shame the weather has been a little unpredictable this weekend. Did my usual weekend walk yesterday and wandered around town early evening. Beer gardens looked busy!

Today treated my mum to a belated birthday lunch and had food from a local tea rooms, takeaway on picnic benches outside. Boys have both had hair cuts though so the main difference from previous weeks. I think I will book a cut mid August when things have calmed down!

labyrinthloafer · 05/07/2020 19:25

I only knew it was Saturday because we have day of the week signs...

GabsAlot · 05/07/2020 19:43

dont feel sorry for wales theyre doing it right
