Nothing much different here. I did go into my first local shop to buy a birthday gift for my dsis. It felt very strange to be in a shop.
Other than that I went to the supermarket and did my Saturday chores at home.

Wonderful. What I thought was a migraine and feeling queasy until DS started with it too. Oh the joys.

crazychemist · 04/07/2020 21:20

A friend came in for a cup of tea. Hugely exciting! (Ok, I know I sound bonkers, but it’s been SUCH a long time since anyone has dropped in!)

mamaduckbone · 04/07/2020 21:23

We went to a local gallery/shop to buy a gift for my birthday and bought coffee and cake to takeaway from a local cafe - it's the first time I've been in a small shop; it was fine and felt good to be supporting local. We visited my mum but still stayed in the garden, and walking through town all the pubs looked really calm with table service only - it was tempting but we didn't bother as we had ds10 with us.

Camomila · 04/07/2020 21:24

Spent the day at mum and dads house with DH and DC, we made a fancy cake to take over, then all had a chinese take away together, my dad fixed my laptop for me which was great.

Only bad bit was the Chinese take away gave us 2 pork dishes and no prawns. Ah well, it was still the happiest day we've all had in months Smile

blue25 · 04/07/2020 21:25

Collected my supermarket shop, watched football on the tele and chilled out. I know 2 people locally who have tested positive for Covid this week, so I’m continuing to be cautious.

Bol87 · 04/07/2020 21:25

Had a park crawl.. visited all 3 in local village & slept a good few hours between them & bike riding. Then I went to Sainsburys, popped to my mums (outdoors, she’s shielding), got a coffee from a local cafe .. now watching black mirror Grin

Living the dream.. but it’s been a really enjoyable day 😊

Drove to the Lake District, drank wine and ate pizza from Morrisons in our lovely air bnb slate barn conversion. Now sat in bed eating ginger biscuits, off to Keswick tomorrow to walk cat bells.

cheninblanc · 04/07/2020 21:31

Walked past our local on our evening walk, 8 men squashed on table, two others pissing up the side of someone's house as they said they didn't want to use the toilet in the pub. Might as well have stuck two fingers up. I work with district nurses and see the pressure they are under, cannot understand super Saturday at all. I'm a bit numb to the stupidity

LolaLollypop · 04/07/2020 21:31

Went to visit DH 92 yr old granddad with our new baby and our toddler daughter. So nice that they have finally met! Granddad actually had Covid about a month ago and is now back home.

Then drove round a few play areas (all closed - what's that about?!) And got a takeaway pizza from our local Italian.

Cattermole · 04/07/2020 21:32

Our local pub was open, which was nice to see (it's right in the middle of the village so when it's dark and empty it looks really sad - it's sort of conspicuous...)
DH went to the farmers market and reported about 4 people sitting outside Wetherspoons - in the rain, poor buggers - he reckoned the staff were beginning to prowl outside looking to drum up custom.
Other than that we're just off the A30 in Cornwall and it's been slightly busier but it's still hardly Fred Carno's circus.

Alex50 · 04/07/2020 21:34

I went to my local village pub Smile I throughly enjoyed it, we only went for an hour it was very quiet. I went to see my parents in the garden, took the dogs for a walk, a bit of gardening and a bit of housework.

Millie2013 · 04/07/2020 21:39

I took DD to the park, we had the play equipment to ourselves. We had takeaway cake and I had a cup of tea. Pretty much what we’d have been doing on the average July Saturday, so no change for us

Dancingalong · 04/07/2020 21:40

Took dd to the park and then to the cinema. Only people in the screening it was great.

HavelockVetinari · 04/07/2020 21:40

We went for an early dinner at our local pub/restaurant - it's 2 doors down from us in a small village, it's important to support them. It was fab, although DS(2) needed reminding of his 'restaurant manners' and 'indoor voice' (which is why we booked for 5pm)

SwelteringInTheHeat · 04/07/2020 21:43

Stayed at home. I had no reason to go out.

ohthegoats · 04/07/2020 21:44

Drove to Cornwall in the middle of the night last night.

Turned the water on having not had anyone here since mid Feb to find the shower won't turn off. So had to do some plumbing at 2am. Today I've fiddled with the shower, read half a book, looked out through the pissing rain at the sea, walked around the block (passing no one).

I cried with relief the whole way between Exeter and Plymouth. I know nothing is over, but it's so nice to be doing something normal.. and sleeping in a different bed, and hearing the waves.

PickAChew · 04/07/2020 21:47

I've occasionally popped into town on a Saturday, through lockdown and it's nice to see our little city finally getting its buzz back. The market's been on for a few weeks, now, which has been nice, but it's still been quiet.

One thing I hadn't noticed were missing until they came back, today, were the lovely food smells.

starrynight19 · 04/07/2020 21:57

Oh I can’t wait for lovely food smells 👍

No need to feel for us @starrynight19 We feel very safe here in Wales. The excess deaths in Wales is 38% compared to 64% in England so you really don't need to worry about us.

Endless11 · 04/07/2020 21:59

All day laid up with a headache - watching TV. Feel a bit hopeless as I have accomplished nothing today. Thinking depressing thoughts.

PhoneLock · 04/07/2020 22:06

The same as any other Saturday. I did walk past the village pub on the way to the shop and it was no different to a pre-coronavirus Saturday. Quiet.

DaphneduM · 04/07/2020 22:08

Moved a lot of grandson's toys that he's grown out of to the garage. Tidied the rest into boxes. Blitzed the second sitting room - hoovered, dusted and tidied the bookshelves. Hoovered main sitting room and washed the kitchen floor. I will finally have my eagle-eyed daughter indoors next week, so all spic and span ready for inspection before being wrecked by my darling grandson. Can't wait!!!!!

Tonight it's lovely to see the lights on in the pub over the road. We'll go over for a meal later in the week. We've been using the village chip shop already. Nice to have small steps back to some sort of normality.

MinesaPinot · 04/07/2020 22:10

Went to friends. Drank lots of wine indoors watching the football. Got fish and chips on the way home and snoozed in front of the telly. Lovely.

Wales - nothing exciting, went to Iceland, forgotten purse so home again, back to Iceland with purse, back home to store food. Then popped into see grand kids. It has been tipping down on and off all day, now the wind has arrived. Think is will be noisy and wet on some caravan sites in England tonight
