Nothing much different here. I did go into my first local shop to buy a birthday gift for my dsis. It felt very strange to be in a shop.
Other than that I went to the supermarket and did my Saturday chores at home.

Out in Nottingham. A lot of shops and pubs still shut, and the tram lines dug up. Signs in the Victoria centre about where people should walk; bouncers on the doors of shops; bigger spaces between displays. And it wasn't crowded, far from it. Most people seemed to be staying away. Quite a few who did come out wore masks. Some gangs of teenagers and young adults hanging around, and some shouty blokes in Market Square who'd obviously been enjoying the pubs.

Its the 4th July holiday here, US. All the fireworks and proper organized events were cancelled, so I did breakfast in bed for each of the dc as a treat and then we chilled at home and drank some bubbly with lunch. Now just enjoying the evening light and waiting for the silly prats to start up with their personal fireworks (which are meant to be banned)

confusedandtired99 · 04/07/2020 23:14

Went to a play park and the kids had such a good time. We’ve really missed playgrounds.

lilgreen · 04/07/2020 23:14

No different to last Saturday.

ssd · 04/07/2020 23:17

I'm in Scotland and we're now allowed to travel over 5 miles so dh and I drove to a lovely and quiet seaside town, had chips and ice cream on a bench then drove home.
Lovely.

JellyfishandShells · 04/07/2020 23:18

Walked past long queue of men and boys queuing outside barbers this morning, saw builders trying to finish laying of terrace at pub on the corner of our road( no chance it would be finished today ), commented how quiet it seemed around, listened out for sounds of revelry that normality result from that pub on the weekend- zilch.

SparkyTheCat · 04/07/2020 23:24

DH and I enjoyed a glass of wine at our favourite pub tonight. It was moderately but not too busy, all very calm and well organised. Nice to get out.

frustrationcentral · 04/07/2020 23:25

No different to the last 13/14 Saturdays! Walk in a quiet place with the dog then an afternoon of online shopping and catching up on TV

malovitt · 04/07/2020 23:27

@herecomesthsun

We are shielding. It was raining. Same old. We did get a delivery of bread from the guy at the local market, which is great as last week I had to top up the weekly supermarket delivery by making a loaf and some banana muffins. We did try a no churn stem ginger ice cream recipe which we'll probably have for pudding tonight.
What was the ice cream like? Have you the recipe? I love stem ginger.

Went to the pub, felt very normal but it's a big pub and had well spaced tables before. I do like the waiter service, that should stay!

CoodleMoodle · 04/07/2020 23:34

DH took DS(1) for a walk on his own because I had to wait in for DS's birthday present to be delivered. DD(6) asked if she could stay home with me - we put on some music, I tidied up a bit and she did some craft stuff. It was nice but she was a bit ratty this evening, probably because she didn't get any exercise! We also watched a film at lunchtime. Typical Saturday for us, really.

HathorX · 04/07/2020 23:35

We went to our local park, twice. It was wonderful to see kids in the play ground again. There were school friends my DD hasn't seen since March, she was ecstatic. And then by chance her BFF turned up with her dad, it was a reunion without hugs but I thought her face would split in half she was smiling so much. Best day ever.

MrsBennetsnerves · 04/07/2020 23:42

I went out and about quite a lot with DH. We raided a few ancient ruins, helped out a king and in between we went to a pub several times just to sell gear...

(We were at home playing Elder Scrolls online.)

BookSkark · 04/07/2020 23:43

Went to a local restaurant for lunch. Waiters were in masks which was a bit odd, but soon got used to it, and it was just so nice not to cook! And then felt quite snoozy after lunchtime wine so didn't achieve much else. But did feel like a baby step to normality!

Silvergreen · 04/07/2020 23:48

It's my birthday today. I had a picnic in the local park with friends then 4 of us went to the beer garden of a local pub for a couple of hours. It was lovely - a little slice of normality for a while.

monkeyonthetable · 04/07/2020 23:49

No change here at all. Stayed home. Went for a walk. Had zoom catch up with friends.

AllieCat22 · 04/07/2020 23:51

Had such a wonderful day. The best in so long. I hosted my brother at my house. We had a champagne lunch and cream tea at home, followed by pizza from the local Italian pizza restaurant. We then went to the local pub and sat outdoors with live outdoor music, and also saw a wedding take place. I’m so happy right now, I really hope going forward life can start to be lived again!

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 04/07/2020 23:52

Mum and Dad came over, we ate takrawa fish and chips, and watched a socially distanced film (Hamilton on Disney plus!)

Loved it! Felt like a slice of normality.

ExhaustedBeyondBelief · 04/07/2020 23:52

Stayed home

Still shielding

Tesco delivery, left on door step,
All Disinfected

No visitors

The same as the last 4 months

Will wait awhile yet....

The kids really enjoyed their time at the park. My older ones have been using walking around them for a while on their own, but today they all went together for the first time this year so that was very nice even if they got a bit soggy.

I'd gone on the bus on Monday for the first time since lockdown for my Life in the UK test and the buses were quiet but the main paths were a lot busier than I've seen them in ages. Today both were even busier, I went in somehow - even though I remembered the park - forgetting it was meant to be 'super saturday' for shops and things and gone in for the first time in weeks to do a food shop because they have those passport photo booths and I needed pictures for my citizenship application (the photos were suitably passport awful).

It took a bit of getting used to the new arrows on the ground and I was surprised at how few masks there were outside the bus station. I did have some frustration with people hanging around the hand sanitizers, not using them just standing there which made it like you can choose to distance or use the sanitizer, I ended up choosing the latter after the photo booth. It was nice otherwise but I've no plans on going out shopping again for a while.

GiraffesAreBeautiful · 05/07/2020 00:02

@Silvergreen happy birthday 🥳 🎉

corythatwas · 05/07/2020 00:03

Stayed at home, dh went to the allotment, drinks and a film at home with the family in the evening.

LittleMrsMama · 05/07/2020 00:03

I'm with the people that had no change at all! Stayed at home isolating. I figure everything I do has some sort of risk with it and then I think 'is that really worth it if I get Covid or infect someone else?' Unless it's absolutely essential I won't do it. I haven't been out in public places (bar walks and hospital appointments) since lockdown began.

It really isn't worth the risk

GiraffesAreBeautiful · 05/07/2020 00:08

@SparkyTheCat didn’t you need to order food?

shinynewapple2020 · 05/07/2020 00:21

We've been to the zoo - which may seem strange as we had no small children with us - but we had a nice day out. I noticed that the fair rides had been started up today . Just sitting reading / watching TV this evening.
