PMQs followed by the briefing. BoJo cunningly consolidating all his work into one weekday again. Wonder what compliant scientist they’ll wheel out for the afternoon.

Tbh the entire cabinet looked pitiful doing that!

I dont have a UK vote any more, nor would I use it to vote Conservative if I did, but I thought Rishi was v impressive on Andrew Marr.

Sunak is smooth-tongued but showed his true colours over the Cummings fiasco.

Wouldn't Johnson do better to go into a couple of schools to see how they're getting on? Rather than the bloody shops.

CLCB07 · 15/06/2020 08:05

I'm sure Johnson will be back onto the statues this week. What are peoples thoughts on Starmer?

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 15/06/2020 13:51

Sunak showed his true colours over the Cummings shenanigans. Any of them that backed Cummings breaking lockdown shouldn't be trusted. Pathetic man.

TokyoSushi · 15/06/2020 14:47

Yes it's such a shame, Sunak showed real potential until he came out in support of Cummings. Whether he was told to or not, it still says a lot about him.

FliesandPies · 15/06/2020 18:39

It does. Basically that he will say and do whatever is required to have power and isn't too bothered about the morality of it. No point replacing Bozo with someone who thinks like that.

FliesandPies · 15/06/2020 18:44

So far so good..it's still early days.

His main problem is trying to extricate himself from the mess inside Labour, the extreme factions like the Trans Activist Lobby. At least he didn't sign that dreadful pledge which labelled Woman's Place and LGB Alliance as 'hate groups' (unlike Nandy and Rayner).

DuncinToffee · 16/06/2020 15:51

Starmer, as above so far so good but early days. SM bots are worried, which is good.

Johnson was busy today, managed a u-turn on free school meals voucher scheme, merged the UK aid department with the foreign office and redesigned a plane for official travel (he doesn't like the colour grey)

As most of them did. But Rishi's there to be a yes man, that much was obvious as soon as he was appointed. However talented someone is and how much potential they have, going from a minor ministerial position to Chancellor is highly irregular, especially after so short a parliamentary career.

He certainly looks and talks the part though. I was interested in that Matthew Parris article the other week saying Sunak has his eye on the top job. Didn't take him long!

FliesandPies · 16/06/2020 17:22

Javid said when he resigned that no self-respecting person could work under the conditions imposed by Cummings - viola Sunak!

He looks good though - reminds me a lot of Macron - and how to sound like he cares. 'The key to success is sincerity - if you can fake that you've got it made!'

CountreeGurl · 16/06/2020 23:05

Boris doesn't survive contact with the public, hence him never really campaigning. Lots of the party hate him, but they knew he was the only way they would get elected after May's disaster. Still it's fun watching Kier tear him apart each week at PMQs, silver linings and all that....

DuncinToffee · 18/06/2020 11:37

It seems like he has been busy recording some video messages about possible trade deals with Australia and New Zealand

This is the Australia one

I had a chuckle at that! Tim Tams are going to save the economy.
