PMQs followed by the briefing. BoJo cunningly consolidating all his work into one weekday again. Wonder what compliant scientist they’ll wheel out for the afternoon.

strugglingwithdeciding · 10/06/2020 23:54

@Saveeno so Drs and nurse that treated him are liars then are they
He obviously did have covid as a few of them did , probably still not fully recovered for all we know as many have ongoing problems
But of course does t for your theory so he must of had a breakdown !

Studycast · 11/06/2020 00:05

Furthermore I bet they are all secretly jumping for joy over the economic chaos CV-19 will cause because it gives them cover to complete a 'no deal' Brexit and the negative consequences of that will be blamed on the virus.

^ Totally this! The negative effects of Brexit would be much more evident in an economy that is buoyant. Now, people won't know whether economic decline was caused by Brexit or by a Covid induced global recession. Cummings and Bojo must be delighted. Whoo hoo - another chance for them to escape accountability!

Astabarista · 11/06/2020 01:02

So questioning and holding is moaning now? And I thought we lived in a democracy.

Disappointing to see our part time PM still only managing a one day week. He’s doing his best though. Honest.

Astabarista · 11/06/2020 01:03

holding TO ACCOUNT damn it

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 11/06/2020 01:09

In his 1 day a week job he's managed to lead us to the worst death toll and the biggest likely financial repercussions in Europe. Imagine how much worse it could have been if he worked 5 days a week.

vera99 · 11/06/2020 08:37

Probably more like a part of one day on past performance. The Torysphere is beginning to despair openly and widely. They were warned. But hey winning elections and Brexit.

jasjas1973 · 11/06/2020 08:56

@strugglingwithdeciding

Do you agree with Johnson's statement that over the summer, children will be engaged in the biggest catch up ever? (or words to that affect)

Was that a well thought out statement, backed up with a firm plan OR something he just dreamt up, spur of the moment, idiotic thing? like the original "plan" of june 15th?

Starmer said originally it wasn't safe for children to back to school as there was no idea of how that might happen safely..... he never said per se it was unsafe, he saw (presumably) the problems with space, SD & teacher numbers.

As i and many have said before, IF he isn't fully recovered from Cv, then step aside, we need firm and wise leadership, not someone convalescing, though who in the current tory cabinet would provide that is a mystery.

theonlywayisapple · 11/06/2020 11:00

Starmer is a waste of space and will never get Labour into power. Thank fuck.

Tadpolesandfroglets · 11/06/2020 11:06

I am totally astounded a what a f*ckwit Boris is and how people are still defending him and how posters are still saying ‘well labour would have done worse’. I actually don’t think it’s possible to do any worse, we are a mess and a BJ is just making it up as he goes along, well, on the one day a week he decides to work, that is

Mohiqo · 11/06/2020 11:13

@BackInTime

The Tories are aware that the more the public see of Boris the clearer it becomes how incompetent he is. He is useless without the backing of his rent a mob panto crowd of MPs braying behind him which under the current very serious circumstances is really not appropriate. Kier Starmer mentioned his rehearsed lines today and it is pretty obvious he has nothing much to offer, it was thought last week that her had an earpiece for assistance.
Utter rubbish, of course he didn’t have an earpiece. Why do people spread such crap!
BiggerBoat1 · 11/06/2020 11:24

Thank fuck he's only working one day a week. Maybe the grown ups are in charge on the other days.

He is a disgrace. Thanks to his incompetence we have one of the worst death tolls in the world. Impressive as an island nation. We're also on course to have one of the worst - possibly the worst - economic downturns following the pandemic.

Thank God Keir Starmer is moaning (doing his job and holding this clown to account).

Clutterbugsmum · 11/06/2020 11:26

Well he needs time to think about when he announces 'absolute' plan on whatever that will definitely, maybe happen on X date If we meet the moving targets. And he can't do that if he is distracted with actual work.

Noextremes2017 · 11/06/2020 11:39

Are you sure Johnson didn't say about it being 'the biggest cock-up ever' rather than the 'biggest catch-up ever'? He could have been mumbling....

Noextremes2017 · 11/06/2020 11:51

@theonlywayisapple

Bit early to write Starmer off I think.

But not to early to give a summary of the Johnson Government response to this pandemic:

1 Sleep walk into disaster.
2 Set up a group of lackeys to blame - SAGE group.
3 Hit the panic button and close the country down (except to foreign air travellers who continued to come in unchecked throughout)
4 Gradually wake up to consequences of 3.
5 Bumble or possibly 'bubble' a chaotic, un-coordinated way out of lockdown before anybody can realise the economic consequences.

strugglingwithdeciding · 12/06/2020 09:20

@mohiqo exactly one source if media ( left wing ) printed he had a earpiece and showed a still from. Video , they then quote quickly put another thing up saying actually he didn't
People were still sharing the incorrect information , maybe they need to learn to research fully first and not believe everything you read in the media , especially from left / right wing
If only we had media that was in the middle and just reported facts

strugglingwithdeciding · 12/06/2020 09:25

@jasjas I'm not saying wether he has said right thing or wether o agree or not , just calling people out that he will be working more than one day a week and it's childish to think otherwise
Brexit is still going on , other issues are still going on
Because he appears in public once a week he's only working once a week
Is Starmer only working when we see him - of course not
Call out where it's wrong don't make stuff up though
And Starmer does he have any ideas for schools it's easy criticising a lot better to maybe put forward some ideas but the reality is , there is no easy ways for schools to go back it's this or back to normal but people aren't happy with either scenario , we can't magic up more teachers or more space to have smaller classes and all in

vera99 · 12/06/2020 09:44

If we had a government of any competency and mettle - they would put their hands up admit mistakes and call for a government of national unity wartime stylee and have a cabinet of all the talents. Instead, it's a wounded useless Johnson popping out of his box sporadically to put an hour in here and there.

Track and trace does anybody has the foggiest of how that works if it even does? They just lie, deflect and spew up word salads now

Noextremes2017 · 12/06/2020 10:23

Johnson is lazy - no question. But then he has never really pretended to be anything else.

Due to our political system he was elected by a minority of voters at the last election and unfortunately that gives him a mandate to carry on as a bloated lazy buffoon - at our expense. And he will.

Government of national unity is a nice idea BUT..... Politics and the country are so divided these days - could you ever see it working?

vera99 · 12/06/2020 10:34

Well if you don't try. I fear we going somewhere not nice at all and not somewhere the vast majority of the population ever wants to go. But it will be more due to cock-up than conspiracy. Never has the need for strong, intelligent and collegiate government been needed in my lifetime.

Theresa May might have had a stab at it with Starmer but we have the COVID clown instead. She seems like a collosus in comparison now sadly.

Well there is plenty of capacity in the Test & Trace system.

25,000 employees earning circa £400 a week, each managed to trace about one person in a whole week!

If that is called 'working' in and sense of the word..... But never-mind it apparently exceeded Twat Hancock's expectations.

It is just another Government PR stunt like the Nightingale Hospitals.

All talk and no action.

MummyPop00 · 12/06/2020 12:55

BoJo has been poor obviously. Social libertarians don’t like lockdowns. Which is why we had a soft one & have ended up with the worst of all worlds.

That said, not seen too much great stuff from Labour either. Don’t remember them screaming from the sidelines to lockdown earlier & harder?

DateLoaf · 12/06/2020 13:00

Do you work for track and trace then? You seem to know all about it?
