@MillStone sorry I should have phrased that better. I don't think it's bad at all. I haven't googled it for a while but from what I can remember yes it's reparable and our system needs to calm down. There are some exercises and things you can do to help, and it's why I decided to start seeing a chiropractor.

@Egghead68 that's very encouraging (your health that is, not the wretched cardio referral!).

Whatnext2018 · 09/06/2020 13:48

Hi all,
The last few days my resting heart rate (literally just sat here with my Dd asleep across me) is always in the 50’s, is that too low? Its gone from one extreme to the other but now I’m freaking out that it’s ‘Too’ low? Is this cause for concern?

MillStone · 09/06/2020 14:21

@fedupofbed

Hehe thanks, I’m currently gargling and doing yoga. Will book a chiropractor later Grin

fedupofbed · 09/06/2020 14:59

Ha careful if you're doing them at the same time @MillStone . Here's a basic vagus reset exercise that someone recommended on the slack group.

hollieberrie · 09/06/2020 15:07

Hello everyone, sorry to see so many are still poorly.
I am too despite being on day 90 something. Have been finding things tough and have come to stay with my stepdad for a little while so i'm not on my own.

Still have blocked ears and dizziness and also struggling hugely with the GERD / LPR. @MillStone thanks for the article on post viral LPR, i do think that may be what i have - throat constantly feels like it has a lump and my stomach is swollen and sore.
Am on omeprazole (was on 20mg now up to 40) but not sure its really doing much? And am worried about the long term effects of it. How are others getting on with it?
@Lightsabre and @fedupofbed how are your oesophageal issues? I admit im feeling anxious / upset about mine, feels so strange.

Egghead68 · 09/06/2020 15:17

@MillStone thanks - I haven’t quite managed to keep my heart rate under 60% max but am keeping it below 110 as much as possible. I think this is helping (but may yet eat my words).

@fedupofbed thank you and thanks for the video. I will try it now.

fedupofbed · 09/06/2020 15:29

I know it's horrible @hollieberrie and I found it particularly hard coming on so severely after all this time (day 102). As you can see from my thread below my GP didn't seem to be particularly concerned as food and drink is actually going down. I'm also on 40mg, and hate being on that high dose, plus Gaviscon. For my particular symptoms, I'm finding chewing gum is helping me today.

I'm glad you're not on your own now, and hope you're getting looked after.

user34254356 · 09/06/2020 15:29

@millstone i could've written your post!

My heart rate is 68-75 on resting and shoots to 100 on standing and any activity like dishes would take it to 110. I have had my echo cardio gram and everything was ok and nothing the cardiologist could suggest. I have also tested negative for antibodies.

I have the same feeling like you: bad SOB, fatigue and dizziness in the morning and by evening I feel a lot better. Of course this is not everyday and some evenings i feel like curling up in bed but i do comparatively feel better in evening than morning.

hollieberrie · 09/06/2020 15:38

Thanks @fedupofbed it helps to know we are not alone with this! So sorry you're still poorly on day 100 plus! And yes, cant believe we are getting new symptoms at this late stage. I'm going for a short walk and will buy some chewing gum at the local shop, i had wondered if it might help.

My stepdad isnt very paternal bless him and he's out at work all day but his company in the evenings is very nice, i was just crying all the time on my own. I wont stay for too long but its great to have a break from the relentlessness.

@MillStone what are you gargling with? And is it helping? I was thinking that i might try bicarb of soda in warm water

Norugratsatall · 09/06/2020 15:53

@hollieberrie I can't believe you're still suffering with your ears, you poor thing. 💐Have they given you any treatment for it? Suggested what could be causing it? Is it your Eustachian tubes?

hollieberrie · 09/06/2020 16:01

@Norugratsatall Ah thanks, yes its awful. Been so long now. Its my Eustachian tubes, both ears. Theyve said just time and nasal spray, steam inhalations etc. I even booked a phone appointment with a private ENT who said the same thing. Its been 2 months now that theyve been blocked. He said if it gets to 3 then we can talk grommets - im not keen but i cant carry on like this,
I caught a little cold last week so that's set me back even further.
How are you doing?

PoppetMaven · 09/06/2020 16:02

Hello all, I hope I may join you all here? I'm sorry to hear that so many of you have been so unwell, but at the same time it is comforting to feel a little less alone in this.

I had the virus in March (no test as yet, but GP is fairly sure). My experience since then has been very similar to that of many posters here.

I've been starting to feel quite a bit better over the past 10 days or so, but in the past 24 hours or so have come up with a pinprick rash across my chest and part of neck. Has anybody else had this in the supposedly 'post viral' phase that we are all apparently in? It doesn't itch or hurt and seems to be scabbing over (sorry). It has been accompanied by a return of the mild sunburn-like sensation that I had weeks ago, or something quite similar to it. Feel a bit hot but pretty sure I don't have a temperature.

Lightsabre · 09/06/2020 16:30

@hollieberrie, I agree the oesophageal thing is horrible. It waxed and wanes - I've noticed its worse in the afternoon and evening g so I'm wondering if it's related to my larynx or pharynx. It hurts to laugh or talk for too long and although it doesn't hurt swallowing, it hurts in my back a second later after swallowing. Throat issues further up too - swollen glands, off and on ear ache/stabbing pains. I'm hoping it's all inflammation. Gaviscon seems to help for a very short while and I'm on regular paracetamol. I think if I could tolerate oral ibuprofen, that would help but I had a bad reaction to it a few weeks ago (breathing related) so have been scared off it .

WotnoPasta · 09/06/2020 16:45

I’m day 18. I felt great yesterday, so I went out this morning. I feel absolutely destroyed again. I’ve never had anything like it before.

KatySun · 09/06/2020 16:47

I had some blood tests today but I stupidly did not ask my doctor what they were for. I presume a full blood count but is that normally two tubes or was she taking something else? She was wearing full PPE so I am guessing the medical profession think we are still sufficiently infectious to warrant this. Not that I mind, I was coughing and I would far rather she is protected just in case.

Not caught up on thread yet.

hollieberrie · 09/06/2020 16:49

@Lightsabre Sorry yours is bad. Mine is worse in the afternoon /eve too. It feels so horrible, its freaking me out. Did your GP offer any explanation as to what it is and how long it might last? Mine just said its a GERD type issue, take the omeprazole and it will go.

tupperwaretowers · 09/06/2020 17:03

Day 88. Generally I’m ok but still got burning in upper back, suspect it’s some sort of reflux which I didn’t have prior to this. Doctor has given me Lamoprozole? Which has reduced the acidy feel but still have severe back pain/sternum area. It hurts to move/rotate but still pretty much ok breathing wise. Still feel quite tired all the time but sleeping better. Booked in for bloods Thursday as my hair is falling out at an alarming rate. Don’t know what to think anymore, I feel like Ive aged 10 years in the past 3 months.

hollieberrie · 09/06/2020 17:16

Gosh, you too suffering with acid @tupperwaretowers Could the hair loss be linked to the tablets? Or havent you been taking them for long.
I'm really freaked out that we are all getting all these acid issues. My GP didnt seem to know anything about it being Covid related.

@PoppetMaven welcome. Sorry youve had to join us :(

tupperwaretowers · 09/06/2020 17:31

Hair loss past 3-4 weeks, it’s all over my head, not a particular spot. Only on Lamoprozole? since Friday gone, noticed less rising type acid straight away but still left with pain in back/sternum will see how it goes.

SunshineCake · 09/06/2020 18:05

Testing

Needsomegoodies · 09/06/2020 18:25

@Whatnext2018 I have exactly the same concern. I've had on off thudding palpitations and racing heart through this but while sometimes my heart rate when sitting is in the low 80s but other times (like right now - 58!) it drops to 56-58, and I'm sitting working on my computer, not lying down or anything. I wear a fitbit so can track it and when it's low I check against my pulse or oximeter and it's correct. My heart rate goes down to 54-58 lows at night but it feels weird to go that low during the day, since I'm certainly not an athlete (now more than ever!).

Thanks everyone for offering words of support regarding the negative antibody test, it's just so unnerving to have no confirmation of what's causing these strange symptoms.

Whatnext2018 · 09/06/2020 19:09

@Needsomegoodies Yes, that’s exactly it!
I’m not especially fit either, just average.
After days of high heart rate, the last few days have even got down to 50/51 when I’m sat down, which makes me worry that it’s too low and something to be concerned about?

Norugratsatall · 09/06/2020 19:15

@hollieberrie oh gosh I'm sorry to hear this. As a fellow sufferer I sympathise massively! I had this back in Jan/Feb but it did clear eventually with a nasal spray. I really hope you get some relief soon! It's thoroughly miserable! I'm doing ok .... sort of... still symptomatic but st least I know that it's pleurisy and post viral fatigue rather than the virus itself! I've been offered a test by the Zoe app but at 12 weeks in, think there's little point. 💐

TiddleTaddleTat · 09/06/2020 19:18

My heart rate has been as low as 42 at rest, but then I've started taking 10ml propranolol 3 times a day. Don't know what my resting heart rate was before as I've only just bought a monitor.

AndsLee · 09/06/2020 19:46

@poppetmaven
Yes, sounds like you're exactly where I am. I have had 10 days of feeling pretty good, but today up comes the rash again. Chest and neck, sunburn sensation on the hands. Kinda allergy sensation around sinuses and throat. I had this three weeks back (though worse) during my period. Must be due again. Hopefully this month won't be so intense.
Apart from that, I feel pretty good... hides

Hope everyone is having a good day...?
