I’m glad you’ve got company now @hollieberrie. I am sorry you are having such a horrible time of it.

@tupperwaretowers I know what you mean about feeling you’ve aged. I would put my current functioning around the level of an 80-year-old. I’m trying to get out of the habit of comparing myself to pre-covid and comparing myself to last week instead. Glad you are doing generally OK though.

@WotnoPasta
We’ve all had the experience of feeling good, overdoing it and relapsing I think. The secret is no to do much even when you are feeling good (unless you have been feeling good for a few weeks or months and are properly recovered).

Welcome @PoppetMaven. I think a few people on here have had the rash.

Sorry to all the people suffering with ear, heart, reflux and oesophageal problems. Solidarity with everyone Flowers

Norugratsatall · 09/06/2020 20:23

@PoppetMaven welcome! But sorry you're in need of the support offered by a thread such as this.
I've had an itchy rash appear on my back near to my underarm in the last couple of days. It looks like heat rash but isn't as it's not been hot! I've just smothered it in aloe Vera gel.
Blood tests 3 weeks ago confirmed I'm in the post viral stage now..... so who knows if this is actually a Covid-related reaction?!

fedupofbed · 09/06/2020 20:57

Hi @PoppetMaven that rash sounds quite similar to one I had in about week 8 or 9: small red pin prick size spots which scabbed over, just on my upper abdomen though.

Yeah I feel like an old lady too. Any semblance of muscle I had in my legs has disappeared, replaced by cellulite 😭.

But we will get through this, we will be strong again!

Whatnext2018 · 09/06/2020 22:05

Do you all have terrible symptoms when your period comes?
I remember reading that on here, I can feel I’m coming up to mine and want to be prepared. Looking back, the day of my last one was where I woke up shaking and numb everywhere and so worried I went straight to the docs. This time may be better as I’m aware now of what’s going on, but still not sure what to expect?

Also does anyone follow or think following an anti inflammatory diet may help or taking turmeric/Curcumin tablets may help?

TiddleTaddleTat · 09/06/2020 22:14

@Whatnext2018 absolutely re. Period and return of symptoms.
YY to an anti inflammatory diet, I am trying to do this (not always successful, though!)
I've cut out coffee, gone down to just one black tea a day, added more green tea,
Avocadoes, nuts, hemp oil, salmon, kefir, kimchi, green veg etc.
Limiting alcohol except for the occasional glass of red wine.
Hardly any sugar and not too much dairy.

MrsBennetsnerves · 09/06/2020 22:14

I was feeling old before this, but this isn't helping matters. That said, I had a bit of a psychological shot in the arm from testing negative this week as it, perhaps unwisely, gives me the hope that I'm moving on. We'll see. I still have this annoying sense of irritation inside my chest though. That's been my longest term symptom although it first happened about 6 days into being sick.

TiddleTaddleTat · 09/06/2020 22:15

I'm trying but... to be fair sometimes I cave in and eat crap.
Oh and I am eating plenty of dark chocolate too Blush

daisymay133 · 09/06/2020 22:21

Just wandering if anyone else having similar symptoms

I think I had Covid back in March as colleague also had it and was hospitalised

I wasn’t tested though

I didn’t have temp but I had constant cough and constant burning feeling between breasts for about 3 weeks

I was fine but very aware of what I felt as never had it before!

Since then I’m still coughing on and off -to the point I thought it was allergies- but I’m quite breathless at rest and have only now noticed due to friends comments

However I can exercise fine! Running is ok it’s more walking and at rest

Anyone similar?

LetsBeSensible · 10/06/2020 00:10

@daisymay133 welcome. You could read through c19recoveryawareness.com they did a good study. Unfortunately most of us here are suffering with “relapses”, severe fatigue, heart issues, digestive issues and neurological symptoms as well.
Welcome to Wednesday and the start of week 12 for me - day 84
I’m still totalling around 3000 steps per day. Still needing a daytime nap. Starting to make plans for “if I’m not better” by July/Aug. I just really doubt I will be able to come back from this, I doubt I will work full-time again. I probably won’t work in my “profession” it was becoming too tough due to CFS before this happened.

baroqueandblue · 10/06/2020 01:02

Popping in to say hi to everyone from the previous threads, and the newcomers too Smile So sorry to read that many of you are still suffering, and although my own journey has been a bit odd I still feel very much that on top of all the osteoporosis stuff I've had the virus and still have the post viral symptoms. It has just floored me for 3 months now, and counting. Still get shortness of breath while walking as well as at rest, life-sapping fatigue and unrefreshing sleep, aches and pains in my legs, arms, and neck, anxious feelings in my chest and abdomen, and phlegm that's globby. Grim!

For those who remember my saga, last week I had a lot of blood taken and they said I'd get the results this week sometime. Also had a full MRI scan of my spine, results by end of next week. They want to rule out anything more sinister than osteoporosis to explain why I fractured so easily. My scheduled routine rheumatology follow up will now hopefully be brought forward from December and I can discuss treatment options with them. In the meantime it's about managing the pain and energy levels (haha) and I've bought Strontium Citrate to see if that works to improve my bone density scores. It's a natural mineral that many osteoporosis sufferers have had great success with and avoided the pharma treatments which have dreadful side effects. Fingers crossed.

I apologise for not having read the full thread but I do wonder how you're all getting on from day to day. I asked at the hospital about an antibody test but was told that they were only starting to roll them out to staff last week! So no joy with that so far. I know very well I've had it though, as so many of you do. Flowers

SunshineCake · 10/06/2020 07:05

*@daisymay133 I am very similar to you, if not the same. I was in bed for two weeks. Taken to hospital by ambulance. X-rayed. Told don't have it. Recently coughing more, I hadn't completely stopped coughing but was only once or twice a day now it is more, pain in my back and aching in my chest.

Ernieshere · 10/06/2020 07:37

@SunshineCake, Did they test you at all?

It sounds awful, Especially as you are still suffering Sad

SunshineCake · 10/06/2020 11:13

I need to reread as it has gone straight out of my head but just to say I wasn't tested, *@Ernieshere. The first visit had a doctor tell me he felt I had moderate covid symptoms. When I was taken to hospital ten days later the main doctor, who was horrible, said you are fine, go home it is anxiety but a nurse said she felt I did have it and to rest. I had an x ray but nothing showed up even though they could hear something they shouldn't in one lung.

Lightsabre · 10/06/2020 11:37

Good to hear from you @baroqueandblue but sorry to hear you're still suffering post virally on top of your other bone problems. Hope your test results show there is something they can do to help you.

MummyPop00 · 10/06/2020 11:39

Day 73.

Had chest x-ray last week, rang for the results this morning, it’s clear.

But I’m still having occasional wheezing. Asked GP for phone consultation on what next. Fully expect very little by way of further intervention and/or treatment.

An antibody test anytime soon would be nice.

Lightsabre · 10/06/2020 11:39

I wonder why, for a lot of us, that we wake feeling like we've been hit by a bus? I would love to wake up, spring out of bed and feel revitalised again.

Lightsabre · 10/06/2020 11:43

@MummyPop00, glad to hear it's clear but definitely push for 'what next'. I'm just awaiting mine which will also be clear I think. I'm really hoping my GP doesn't try to pin the SOB on anxiety which they have been hinting at. I'm going to push for a pulmonary assessment/further testing. I feel if the sob could resolve or be managed then I could put up with the other issues and return to work in a few weeks.

fedupofbed · 10/06/2020 12:16

Hi everyone

@baroqueandblue good to hear from you. Sorry you're still going through so much. Hope the pain is better now?

@Whatnext2018 I'm not sure if it's anti inflammatory but I've gradually changed my diet over the months. I now eat loads of fruit, veg and nuts. I eat bananas and avocado every day, have cut out caffeine and pretty much all refined sugar and carbs. Fun fun! I have turmeric tablets but stopped taking them so regularly as I haven't really noticed any effect.

@Lightsabre re waking up bouncy in the morning, yes that is my dream! One day we will be free of the ugh poison feeling.

@TiddleTaddleTat I hope I got the right person but sorry if I haven't... is it you has a medical appointment today? If so hope it goes well.

applesnapple27 · 10/06/2020 12:33

Hi @godhelpusall I tested positive at start of april following onset of symptoms at end of march. I've been suffering on and off with lingering symptoms. Mainly SOB, lingering cough and weird menthol feeling when breathing, as if i've been eating extra stong mints that catch your breath. Last week the menthol breathing sensation was really bad but it eased up over the weekend but unfortunately returned yesterday. GP gave me an antibiotic a couple of weeks ago which helped to some extent. I've had a chest xray which came back normal. Everytime I feel like I'm back to my normal self within a few days symptoms reappear. Feel like this is never going to end.

weaselwomble · 10/06/2020 12:35

Hi all. I hope you're all well. I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance if possible please, I've read through most of this thread but not the others so not 100% clear on people's stories.
Anyway, I had the virus and developed pneumonia from it. Also apparently slightly enlarged lymph nodes in my chest? I had antibiotics from the hospital, and then some more from the gp when it seemed the infection was returning. I am now on day three (ish) post antibiotics and feeling the odd twinge, and there's quite a sharp pain in between my shoulder blades at the bottom. I have had huge, huge anxiety throughout all of this (triggered by some bereavements last year, the consultant at the hospital told me to go and get some counselling), far beyond what I think would be normal worry for quite a mild case. So I am feeling quite anxious today but also very very reluctant to go to the hospital, or even phone the gp incase they tell me to go to the hospital. But at the same time I need the reassurance that a bit of pain some days is perfectly normal if that makes sense?
Sorry that has ended up a bit of a long one, my head is a bit of a mess at the moment. Am I right in thinking it's s normal to be a bit up and down pain wise, and that I really don't need to worry just yet? I will obviously go to the hospital if it gets as bad as it was, I'm just worried that I might be letting the information get bad again.
Thanks to anyone who has read all that 😂

Whatnext2018 · 10/06/2020 12:38

Hi all,
So I remembered some posting about veins being more visible? I’ve always had notoriously hard to find veins for blood tests etc. Just recently they’re very ‘Bright’ hard to explain and quite prominent, especially in my feet and arms, is this weird? I posted on one of the support groups and they said to get tested for clots/d-dimer test? I’m wondering if I can just literally request just that for s blood test.
V anxious last night and spent most of the night watching my pulse as it was 50-52 and seemed so low.
Came on my period this morning so may explain the anxiety, sneezing all over the place as if it’s major hayfever.
Just want to go back to a relaxed state of being, it’s pretty unbearable isn’t it!

weaselwomble · 10/06/2020 12:40

Sorry that last bit should say infection

Ernieshere · 10/06/2020 13:06

@applesnapple27 Can you think of anything you ate on Mon or yesterday with onions or garlic in?
My GERD came back with a vengance after I had pasta sauce?

Lightsabre · 10/06/2020 13:28

Welcome @weaselwomble, I too have the same pains and was diagnosed early in as pneumonia but my chest X-ray was subsequently clear. They've continued and I use paracetamol and ibuprofen gel daily. As you've been in hospital and had a diagnosis, can you ask your GP to refer you for a follow up X-ray? In earlier days I spoke to a nurse at the British Lung Foundation and she said it can take up to 6 months for pneumonia inflammation to die down.

baroqueandblue · 10/06/2020 13:37

@weaselwomble sorry to hear about all you've been through, having this virus following some significant bereavements that you haven't had support to grieve fully yet. That's very hard and I'm not surprised there's anxiety in the picture too.

I realise you're reluctant to be advised to go to hospital but I would tell your GP about the pain nevertheless. S/he might want to extend the course of antibiotics if the previous doses haven't fought off the infection altogether. Best not to take any chances. You might be right and the pain might be to be expected for a while longer yet, but equally it could be a sign that the pneumonia is still active. Let us know what you decide and how it goes. You can post here for support anytime, and that might help you feel less anxious about a trip to hospital.
