Questions:

• Why did he return to Downing Street after being in contact with an unwell (?Corona ?vomiting) wife?
• Why if it was security concerns that meant he felt he couldn't self-isolate in his London home did he not just address those concerns? I am sure No 10/the police could have helped him with that as the latter would any other person who felt unsafe in their place of isolation. And if it was so unsafe then because 'people thought he was anti-lockdown' why was it safe 2 weeks later and has been since?
• If he didn't have immediate childcare in London why didn't they wait until it was a lot clearer they would both be incapacitated before enacting a back up plan? The guidance allowed for healthy people to travel to care for the vulnerable - his nieces/sister could then have come to him, no problem. Same risk to the niece either way.
• Why did he put his 4 year old in a car with two likely infectious people?
• What were the rules at that time regarding recently symptomatic parents accompanying children to hospital?
• If his vision was affected then he was still symptomatic, why was he considering going to work? If it was on advice of a medic (which he needn't have sought whilst symptomatic as the guidance was clear) why would he be cleared as safe to work but not safe to drive?
• If his parent's estate has so much private land why did he not individually drive around the property to test his fitness to drive? (still a stupid idea) rather than put his wife and child in the car and use public roads?
• Why did he not discuss this with Boris etc/the media earlier if he felt he had done nothing wrong? It hasn't just come To light now, journalists have been asking Downing Street about this for weeks.
• Why did he never apologise? Either he broke the guidance or the guidance was so badly written and communicated that parents across the land felt they couldn't move to seek help whilst ill just in case they needed childcare, causing thousands of families unecessary suffering.

Thoughts:
The original move from London to Durham is still enough for me to think he should have apologised at the very least. The damage to the Public Health message from defending it means he needs to resign/be fired and I actually think Boris should go now too, he's undermined the UKs response to a pandemic to save one man's job.

Feelings:
I feel dirty somehow, like I've played into a narcissist's game by giving this explanation my time an attention. The disdain for the intended audience is so breathtaking. Reverse engineering a fiction with plausible deniability and having the sheer self-confidence to think it will dissipate all the anger shows such little respect for us. To then say it's the media peddling mistruths that may affect public behaviour and not their legitimate reaction to his actions just sickens me. We're not stupid and desperate, convoluted waffling in a garden isn't going to change anything.
I think he wanted to have this statement and Q and A because he has such confidence in his abilities at manipulation. For an hour it was like I was in an abusive, gaslighting relationship where someone rewrites reality to get the outcome they want.

It changes nothing for me.

Just done a bit of research on LinkedIn:
Alice seems definitely not to be Dominic's sister - she attended a day school (Latymer) in London, therefore is somewhat unlikely to have lived in Durham as a child.

She isn’t Dominic’s sister. As I wrote on another thread, she seems to be née Banks, the wife of Russell Cummings. Whether Russell is e.g. a cousin of Dominic (he isn’t his brother) I don’t know.

I actually think he is! It’s a special kind of arrogance. He apparently masterminded Brexit too.... says a lot.

It's as if he thinks he has the ring of gyges, which links in with the gollum/smeagol reference which we so often hear in regards to him
I suppose having access to people's data and looking for ways to manipulate them via social media is a kind of ring of gyges... he really does think he can pull the wool over all of our eyes?
some of the people some of the time... but not all of the people all of the time, did no one ever tell him that?
Perhaps he thinks he is the Messiah?
