@Helenadove it wasn’t in the guidance - well not the guidance for US. He clearly had his own personal set of guidance that he made up as he went along!

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 18:05

@NewAccountForCorona Ive seen on another thread that some of it is being removed

Rinoachicken · 25/05/2020 18:06

@vera99

Not so much a car crash as a multi car pike up on the M1

All the more reason not to go for a test drive with your family in the car when your eye are ‘abit weird’ Grin

user1495884620 · 25/05/2020 18:07

Summary:

Pretty much everything that has been reported is true, except for the second trip to County Durham after returning to London is true.

I can confirm that I am too special for the instruction Stay At Home to apply to me because...reasons.

Plus, I think it is reasonable to drive with eyesight problems with a young child in the car.

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 18:08

Exactly Rino Other groups would have kicked off if it was.

e.g. Carers caring for disabled family members would have said "well why cant i do the same if my spouse/brother etc is ill.

None of this happened because as you said it wasnt in the guidance in the first place.

user1495884620 · 25/05/2020 18:08

Arse, second is true should not be there!

GrimmsFairytales · 25/05/2020 18:09

User1495884620

Your summery missed out the hospital trip, and then him collecting his wife and child despite not being able to stand the night before...

user1495884620 · 25/05/2020 18:11

GrimmsFairytales

Sorry, you are right, I stand corrected!

SouthWestmom · 25/05/2020 18:12

When is the normal briefing? It's 6.15 already

OP posts:
CoralHair · 25/05/2020 18:13

7pm. Whitty and Vallance will be being briefed by Cummings as we speak.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 18:13

The roses even look sad.

GrimmsFairytales · 25/05/2020 18:13

Noeuf I thought it was 6pm, but obviously not.

BJ is probably shitting himself, 2nd time he's had to do one in 2 days.

SouthWestmom · 25/05/2020 18:14

Thanks Coral.

What do we bet that no answers on Cummings and they want that to be an end to the matter.?

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 18:14

Cummings will keep his job.

CoralHair · 25/05/2020 18:16

And why did none of the journalists ask when his wife's birthday is FFS??!! Please let someone mention this in the briefing!

greenlynx · 25/05/2020 18:16

I’ve just checked, it’s 53 miles from his parents house to Barnard Castle and back. I can’t believe they are trying to sell it to us as a “test-drive”!!!

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 18:17

What if he had an accident?

itsgettingweird · 25/05/2020 18:18

Media question needed.

"Where in the guidance does it say that if you aren't sure you are better get in your car, drive your wife and child 30 miles, to check"

Barbie222 · 25/05/2020 18:18

And why did none of the journalists ask when his wife's birthday is FFS??!! Please let someone mention this in the briefing!

Yes, and the Mum's birthday.

Mrhodgeymaheg · 25/05/2020 18:19

When you think back over the last 4 years, it is really hard to remember a time where politics was as farcical as it is now. It is just constant blunder after blunder, like sending a 50 something out to be an Olympic gymnast when they just scraped through their BAGA 5 badge.

All respect has gone for this party now surely after this? It's bad enough blatantly not practising what you preach when there are people like myself who couldn't even attend a funeral due to the guidelines, but it's perfectly ok to drive out for a day trip to test your eyesight (that rationale is worrying), but the complete arrogance and disregard of other people's sacrifice is jaw-dropping. They live in another realm.

The conservatives have lost some good politicians over the last couple of years and understandably so, since I wouldn't stick around to be part of this. I don't vote Tory, but I worry about them - not because of their weird backward ideals, but their complete incompetence. They need a real leader with their feet firmly planted in the real world that doesn't need another pair of feet in the shape of Dominic Cummings to prop them up. I guess that make Boris Johnson a fucking table, except he is more dense.

Mrhodgeymaheg · 25/05/2020 18:22

The roses even look sad.

Grin that speaks volumes doesn't it. Even flowers and vegetables are despairing at this.

Everytimeref · 25/05/2020 18:22

Did the wife mention child being so ill spent night in hospital in her article, surely that would have been good copy?

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 18:23

And the fines for breach were INCREASED on the 13th May

GrimmsFairytales · 25/05/2020 18:24

Did the wife mention child being so ill spent night in hospital in her article

No, I think this is the first we've heard about the child being ill. Probably because the hospital he was admitted to would have made the lockdown London angle rather difficult. Wink

CricketCrocket · 25/05/2020 18:26

Did he go to Barnard Castle and the bluebell woods (the one where they stopped at, not his parents land) when they should have been isolating?
