Thread three for following the uproar at playing down the lock down and rewriting the rules.

Maybe he was testing out his new slogan.

Stay alert - alert enough to drive 260miles/5 hours away

Control the virus - demand it travels from London to Durham. You are in charge of where it goes.

Save lives - safeguard yourself children by seeking childcare. But only if you care about them enough.

ParkheadParadise · 24/05/2020 21:16

Cant wait to see Bawbag Boris out clapping on Thursday 🤣.

Don’t think being 71 on its own qualifies you to be shielding though?

I believe it did at the time. I'm sure the advice was for over 70s to stay home regardless of medical conditions.

SabrinaThwaite · 24/05/2020 21:17

Moderate risk group based on age only I think frumpety? I thought it was only high risk that were to shield?

PerkingFaintly · 24/05/2020 21:18

There was a delightful typo on the previous thread, viz Burnham Castle.

Freudian slip for Birnam, I feel.

And just as prophetic?

The80sweregreat · 24/05/2020 21:18

We could call it ' Abbagate '
' Dancing Dom , feel the heat from the virus , oh yeah '
He can roam , he can roammm , having the drive of his life .. ohhh
Feel that heat , drive to to the beat , it's dancing Dom ..oh yeah ..

itsgettingweird · 24/05/2020 21:20

Over 70's are clinically vulnerable. They had extra guidance but are not shielded.

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 21:20

I thought it was only high risk that were to shield?

Perhaps i'm misremembering, happy to be corrected if i'm wrong. Smile

BigChocFrenzy · 24/05/2020 21:20

Shielding is only advice not law, or even rules
Nobody over 70 was told by the police to go home

However, police at that time were stopping people driving to visit relatives or 2nd homes

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 21:22

However, police at that time were stopping people driving to visit relatives or 2nd homes

Ah but only if you were a regular person, the rules didn't seem to apply to celebs / DC.

SabrinaThwaite · 24/05/2020 21:25

I’m thinking there’s going to be a lot of lockdown fines that will now be open to challenge?

YogaLite · 24/05/2020 21:26

I wonder if police were called by the owner of the Durham place because of security issues because someone put their head over the fence and saw DC & family.

ListeningQuietly · 24/05/2020 21:27

If you are angry about the way Cummings has behaved
PLEASE EMAIL YOUR MP
www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-your-mp/
they have to deal with electors
do not let them fob you off
they work for you

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 21:28

YogaLite

I wonder if they were trying to get photographic / video evidence.

B1rdbra1n · 24/05/2020 21:30

what a big ole clusterfu(k

Focusanddetermination · 24/05/2020 21:32

I do wonder whether Boris is fed up with the job and doing this and other recent stuff to see just what it takes to get kicked out / actually cause the British public to say we've had enough. That should have happened before now.

buttersidedown · 24/05/2020 21:33

My Tory MP has replied saying he has complained to the chief whip. He is one who I expected to back Boris, so I am very pleased!

Travelban · 24/05/2020 21:33

I am absolutely outraged too and agree with everyone else...

The80sweregreat · 24/05/2020 21:37

Boris looked so pale and knackered.
He isn't fit for purpose really but with this virus still about the hands are tied as to what the back benchers can do.
Not enough of them to make a huge dent really. I believe he still feels it will blow over.

Iamagree · 24/05/2020 21:37

I've been checking out the naice" media (not the horrid "campaigning newspapers"Hmm) and the Telegraph have the list of questions the journalists MUST keep using until they're all ticked off
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/05/24/dominic-cummings-crisis-18-unanswered-questions/
(and a quick poll at the end of the article! Currently 70%-30% that Doris de Pfeffel was wrong.

Iamagree · 24/05/2020 21:39

Apologies for my shocking inconsistency in not opening my quotation marks and closing my brackets, tsk tsk Blush

ListenLinda · 24/05/2020 21:39

In the midst of all this, to add to my fury is the disgusting cretin waltzed into DS looking like an absolute tramp.

He honestly has no shame.

SixesAndEights · 24/05/2020 21:41

Wasn't Rasputin famously a scruffbag?

JackiFazaki · 24/05/2020 21:41

Thank you for the new thread.
