Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

@Sweetie60 thanks, just checked after lying down for a while and it's 90. That feels pretty high to me but within average ranges I guess. I'm mid 30s so hot flushes are a bit weird for me, have had less of them over the past couple of days though.

Meercatmama · 25/05/2020 23:42

Hi I am a poster from the very first threads. Me and my husband have both had this and he is still exactly behind me by two weeks and I mean exactly with the dips However for me day Day 71 I feel better I never thought I would get here but waiting for the next dip. Husband in bed and has taken paracetamol he has been very ill in childhood and knows what to do

Today we have mowed the lawn between us . cooked lovely meals and generally conducted our life as normal at a much slower pace. Are we better? Yes Are we back to normal? NO
Both of us want to scream from the roofs at all those people saying it is like flu. No it is not and it leaves lasting effects and we are still coping with them. Every day brings something different on a small or lager scale. We are doing that We want this acknowledged so we can help other to not feel they are going mad like we felt. Our lifeline was these threads that made us feel we were not alone
Tonight I wish all of you a peaceful night and hope everyone feels a little better in the morning. We get there it just takes time.

@sweetie60
I’m nearly 11 weeks in and still waiting for a whole day when I feel well. Or even half a day?!
I too still get those symptoms:

  1. a raw feeling in my trachea/windpipe behind my breast bone - feels like I am breathing cold air.
  2. mild conjunctivitis
  3. mild burning mouth feeling
  4. fuzzy head stopping me thinking clearly. Problems finding words (very scary!)
No idea how to improve any of it?!
MelClare · 26/05/2020 00:13

@Sweetie60 same here. Thought I’d outgrown hot flushes and suddenly they’re a million times worse than ever! And feels like my skin is burning too!

pinkoneblueone · 26/05/2020 00:21

DH has had very painful muscles and joints today and has come out in a fever :( we are 11 weeks in

Mytimetogo · 26/05/2020 00:37

Hello, I've been with you along the way but changed name for another post in case I was recognised.

After a good number of days felling much better (8- previous record had been 4), I started with a pressure in my right side of my forehead. And this awful fizzing and flickering feeling if I concentrated too hard or tried too remember something. Remember the old push button TVs? It felt like that and the picture (or memory) would clunck and fizz back in. Scary. Duty Dr put it down to anxiety. That lasted 3 days and then I was exhausted again, asleep by 2pm again each day.

KatySun · 26/05/2020 07:10

Hello, just checking in really.
Sore chest still, fatigued, seem to have some temperature rises, sore throat, this just goes on and on. I am supposed to be starting a phased return (working from home) today which I am going to try because I honestly do not think I will get rid of this any time soon. I feel like I could be signed off another month and still be in the same position so the question is how to live with it?

Egghead68 · 26/05/2020 07:22

Hooray @Meercatmama!

Day 66/67 for me and I feel much the same - not ill but fatigued and I can’t do nearly as much as normal. Today I am hoping for 3500 steps, a few gentle floor exercises and 2-3 hours work. I’m also sending off my swab test (which will surely be negative).

user34254356 · 26/05/2020 07:31

@KatySun i know what you mean. I tried a full day return to work and after few weeks i was so exhausted i got myself signed off for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks rest i will attempt a phased return but doing only maximum half a day of work for at least 2-3 weeks.

I feel i won't be back to normal for 6 months at this rate!

Does anyone have a painful throat? I didn't have one before but suddenly over last few days i have a sore throat (sides), which feels better with hot drinks.

KatySun · 26/05/2020 08:13

Yes, I did similar - returned after three weeks off, managed a week and a half and now have been off another month as I had a big relapse (although looking back I was not at all well when I returned, but there was no medical advice aside from the general ‘mild illness which lasts seven to ten days’ though I thought I should be well, if that makes sense.
I was thinking half days for 2-3 weeks as well. I am going to try and speak to my doctor later.

Ernieshere · 26/05/2020 08:15

user34254356 I spoke to the British Lung Foundation and 6 months is what they are saying.

Callimanco · 26/05/2020 08:31

Hi all. I feel a bit of a fraud coming on here as I am certainly not suffering as much as most of you, but I do have a strange thing.
Had possible mild covid mid-March. Didn't think so at the time as temperature was only 37.4 and it started with jitteriness, loss of appetite, and diarrhea which were not symptoms to look out for back then. I had a very physical manifestation of anxiety in the early stages - fast heart, sleeplessness, sense of doom which was very strange and I thought I was losing my marbles, but it disappeared overnight after about 3 days and I now think it was part of the illness. Had back ache,
sore throat with thick mucus at top of throat, feeling of having inhaled talc, and some flank pain on the left, then a mild dry cough. Was never I'll enough not to work from home after the first 48 hours when I felt too panicky and had diarrhea.
I am living my life fine now more than 2 months later, apart from a couple of weird things.
First - I get indigestion so easily. And second, the inhaled talc/ menthol windpipe sensation keeps coming back. It lasted about 2 weeks initially. Now I get it most evenings - but I had never had it before. Is anyone else basically ok but with these two symptoms - and I wonder if they are connected, both being wind pipe/ food pipe? Maybe it's reflux or similar?

I know no one can tell me if I even had covid- if I did, it wasn't typical, but it was a weird mildish illness that persisted and went through a load of body systems in a sequence I haven't ever quite experienced before!

Gunner30 · 26/05/2020 08:39

@Egghead68 thanks, it's been a long road, but glad you are doing better too.

@Silvergoldsilver thanks for the reflux information that's very helpful. Take care and hope your recovery continues. X

godhelpusall · 26/05/2020 08:50

@Callimanco I have the menthol taste still and I'm on omeprazole due to the acid reflux. I also have headaches and malaise that come and go.

AndsLee · 26/05/2020 09:00

@Callimanco and others...
I have found the sequence thing twice as weird, because my body replicated this piece by piece this month following the pattern from March. Very weird...

The only difference is that instead of the really sore raw windpipe I had on the last cycle...this has been replaced with the breathing in talc sensation, stingy eyes and a rash. Also, and this is the worry...

I have noticed for 2 mornings on the trot that my 02 sats dip very briefly to 93, then climb back up again to 97. Resting, usually about 96 now during the day, which is lower than my normal 98. Cause for worry, what do you all think?

SirBale · 26/05/2020 09:06

@AndsLee

Mine has been the same the last couple of days it has dropped down to 92 or 93 but then back up to 95 or 96. Have phoned my GP and am awaiting a call back as feeling really panicky, struggled to get out of bed and can’t focus on anything other than my breathing.

Whatnext2018 · 26/05/2020 09:16

@sirbale and @AndsLee I posted about this a few threads back, mine sometimes starts at 93 but climbs higher almost straightaway, is that the same? I’m guessing shouldn’t be at 93 at all? My chest is also v tight today when it hasn’t really been previously

SirBale · 26/05/2020 09:23

It’s back up to 97 again now but heart rate is hovering at 100. Really hoping the dr can provide some kind of reassurance.

AndsLee · 26/05/2020 09:39

@Whatnext2018 I have had this happen before, and put is down to the oximeter caliberating. But these last two mornings, the sats have started low, rose quickly, then dipped back again briefly, then up again. So, the meter was reading...

Whatnext2018 · 26/05/2020 09:53

@Andslee Ahh yes I’ve had it happen a couple of times, but only to 94 I think. What does the doctor say? Is it cause for concern?

Egghead68 · 26/05/2020 09:58

Here is a website I was recommended with resources about breathlessness, in case it is useful to anyone:

This link might work better:

Needsomegoodies · 26/05/2020 10:11

@AndsLee and @SirBale I’m having similar today. The last few weeks even when I’ve felt a bit short of breath my sats have always stabilised at 98-100. This morning it’s 95-96 over repeat measures, which although not ‘too low’ is noticeably lower and coincides with an increase in chest pain. I also feel very fuzzy/lightheaded today, which is a symptom I haven’t had for about 2 weeks. I’d be interested to know what GP says.

Egghead68 · 26/05/2020 10:54

Got an update on my referral for a 24-hour ECG and echo-cardiogram. 12 days ago I was referred to a hospital I can’t get to (no car and on the shielding group). I was told they would try to retrieve me to my local hospital across the road.

They’ve just contacted me to say they are just looking at this now (! It was an urgent referral) and this is not possible. I asked what the options are and they said “all we can do is put a note on your system”.

So there goes that.
