Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

Can I share something gross? I just took a really really long and very hot shower. Tried hard to breathe the steam in deeply and blow my nose gently. And omg the thick white mucous that came out in the end!!!
If that shit is all over my lungs and in my nose and ears then no wonder I feel shit. I've never seen the like. Bright white!!!

Will catch up on everyone's updates today and post properly in a bit.

Egghead68 · 25/05/2020 18:25

Anyone who has been unlucky enough to be in ICU might want to read up on post-intensive care syndrome if they haven’t been made aware of it already:

Egghead68 · 25/05/2020 18:29

I’m sorry you had such an awful time @Pickle40.

AndsLee · 25/05/2020 18:34

@hollieberrie

I've noticed the white stuff myself. Would love to get it oot...how long were you in the shower for? X

Pickle40 · 25/05/2020 18:39

Thanks I will inbox u later Jack Jack higher anti depressants and I found myself councilling via mind charity they ring me but it's very hard I was told I had50percent chance of survival but saw so many be in distress and die I am lucky to be alive and grateful to NHS but also angry there is no support or check up afterwards and people like me who work in care risk our lives to care for people and then get dumped on SSP when on sick don't get the pay yet if I worked in a pub I'd get 80percent struggling to eat healthy on a crap income means longer recover so unfair I wish everyone here a good recovery we are all lucky to be alive tbh I saw terrible suffering and half people I spoke to didn't have symptoms on 111website!!!

Whatnext2018 · 25/05/2020 19:18

Hi all,
I’ve noticed that for the majority of the day today, my heart rate has been over 100, average 108, higher in the mornings. Is this cause for concern? Have you all had or have this?

SirBale · 25/05/2020 20:31

Can I join this thread? I’m nowhere near as far down the line as some of your guys. It’s 3 weeks today since I tested positive.

Never had the key symptoms of cough, fever or loss of taste smell but have been massively up and down. The last two days in particular have felt completely wiped out again, fighting the constant urge to take deep breaths, heart rate consistently over 100 and diarrhoea has returned. Not sure how much or it how is directly covid related and how much is anxiety. Doesn’t help living alone and too much time to think.

Tootsey11 · 25/05/2020 20:49

Whatnext2018, I have the high heart rate. From getting up in the morning it is usually racing, stays like that for a few hours. Then drops back to about 80 during the day, only to rise again for the evenings and until Im in bed. Ive no idea if physical exertion is doing any damage, but I know some on here have had theirs checked and even with the racing, there has been on issues found.

Ernieshere · 25/05/2020 20:51

@pinkoneblueone, thank you, I tried the Gaviscon and it worked, I was too scared to take it yesterday in case it made my breathing worse, I wont even use mouthwash or spray cleaning spray in the kitchen at the moment Blush

I am so wheezy and breathless.

I am going to speak to the G.P about this acid, it's awful. I saw this, sorry if it's been shown before.

Lungand throat problems —If stomach acidbacks up intothethroat, thiscancause inflammation ofthevocal cords, a sore throat, or a hoarse voice. The acid canalso be inhaled intothe lungsand cause pneumonia or asthma symptoms. Over time, acid in the lungs canlead to permanentlungdamage

Ernieshere · 25/05/2020 20:52

Sorry it didn't cut & paste as I read it. There were gaps honestly!

pinkoneblueone · 25/05/2020 21:03

Oh Christ! I am glad I have contacted my doctor now about this as I have had reflux for 5 days now.

Egghead68 · 25/05/2020 21:12

@Whatnext2018 yes I had/have the high heart rate. It’s coming down now (I’m day 65/66) but at its worst it was sometimes 130 at rest.

Egghead68 · 25/05/2020 21:16

Should add my resting heart rate is 77 at the moment so a big improvement. My blood tests 2 or 3 weeks ago showed mildly raised troponin which indicates heart distress. I’m waiting to hear about further investigations I been referred for. I’m pretty reassured it has come down so much though.

Egghead68 · 25/05/2020 21:19

Welcome @SirBale! I hope you don’t have to stay here long (in the nicest possible way).

sociallydistained · 25/05/2020 21:26

Hi guys I'm sorry to read how much you've all been suffering. So scary!

On Saturday I started to notice a tickle under my tongue which really bothered me. On Sunday I woke up with what I would describe as shallow breathing. Not being able to take a full breath? My resting heart rate has risen since Saturday and I feel breathless and fatigued just sitting. Then tonight I've noticed a metaliic taste in my mouth when I do cough... which is only really when I try and take a full breath beyond what is comfortable. I've also had some diarrhoea but I've been passing that off as I've eaten crap all weekend... which is true.

Be honest. Does this sound like Covid symptoms? Or sound similar to anyone's experience here? I'm terrified! Hate the struggling to breath and high heart rate! I'm an active person who exercises everyday and I feel live run a 10k just sitting.

Gunner30 · 25/05/2020 21:49

Hi all, sorry for not posting for a while. After 71 days, I'm virtually back to normal and managed to walk 6 miles today, which I'm really pleased about after two months of feeling so rough.

Last remaining symptom is still the sore throat from reflux. lansoprazole really seemed to help and just finished a 4 week course. The other thing that helps is avoiding spicy/vingery food and drinking lots of water. Sleeping in a slightly raised position also helps, so hope this helps others. Got a follow up with the throat specialist in the next couple of weeks, so I'll let you know how it goes, but glad I went to the GP, as he was really helpful and got me referred straight away.

Take care all and thanks again for all your support over the last 2.5 months X

Silvergoldsilver · 25/05/2020 21:58

@Gunner30 That’s so great to hear, thank you so much for updating us. Long may this continue for you

To those of you that are having reflux - I had 3 months of it at the start of my crohn’s diagnosis 2 years back and had to have gaviscon multiple times a day and sleep with 3 pillows and when I had an endoscopy, there was no damage to my throat or anything so hopefully this would be the same case for you and hopefully a little reassuring.

I’m on day 63 now and the last 2 days of my period surprised me - I fainted yesterday and then couldn’t move for the rest of the day with sob just like the early weeks..looking forward to a hopeful day in the future with less nasty surprises! Wishing you all a good rest tonight.

Egghead68 · 25/05/2020 22:00

I think quite possibly @sociallydistained. You can get tested now (you might need to stretch the truth and say you have had a cough/fever/lost sense of smell/taste). I hope you recover quickly from whatever it is.

@Gunner30 that’s brilliant! Thanks so much for updating us. I’m five days behind you and have a bit of catching up to do.

LetsBeSensible · 25/05/2020 22:05

Today has been a real trial. I had two naps, walked about 1000 steps, and I can’t stand up for too long. I can’t move quickly. I have that “sore brain” headache.
Quite honestly, if I had a car I would drive to Durham.

sociallydistained · 25/05/2020 22:31

@Egghead68 I've actually ordered an at home test which is coming tomorrow. I'm suppose to be back at work Monday so I need to know either way although don't know if the results will back by then Confused

Sweetie60 · 25/05/2020 23:01

@Whatnext2018 You're in good company here with the heart issues, lots of us have had them.
I went to see a cardiologist who did loads of tests to reassure me that my unusually high heart rate was nothing other than post viral (she told me I was the 6th person she had seen that day with the same symptoms). Mine was particularly bad on exertion (a 48 hour ECG picked up a high of over 180bpm doing nothing other than pottering around the house). It is now coming down, helped by a short course of beta blockers, which she offered as an option, and I'm glad that I took, as it has stopped the awful feeling I kept getting as adrenaline flooded my system several times a day. Whether this was from anxiety or the virus, I don't know, but it has now largely gone. Hope that helps reassure you, but obviously if you are in any doubt, do get in touch with your GP.

TiddleTaddleTat · 25/05/2020 23:05

@Sweetie60 I'm also getting moments of rapid heart rate, sometimes I feel hot at the same time. Mentioned this to GP and she said it was something that we might need to look into when I speak again after 2 weeks.
I've started to worry about heart issues. But then the anxiety doesn't help with fast heart rate!
I don't measure my heart rate, how do you do that?

Sweetie60 · 25/05/2020 23:17

Can I please ask some advice?

Every few days, aspects of this disease (which I developed in 3rd week of Feb) seem to come back. So I might get a week/ten days feeling normality is returning, but then wham, some of the symptoms come back (that has happened today after more than a week of thinking I was on the mend). I am very fortunate in that the scariest ones seem to have gone (SoB, chest pains, congestion), but this time, I am still left with:

1.a raw feeling in my trachea/windpipe behind my breast bone - feels like I am breathing cold air.
2.conjunctivitis (which just never clears up properly)
3.burning mouth feeling (like I have burnt my tongue)
4.fuzzy head stopping me thinking clearly.

Has anyone else got the same symptoms and if so, have you any advice to offer on how to deal with them? I'm seeing my GP on Wednesday and so would really appreciate any thoughts before then.

Thanks - Mallory.

Sweetie60 · 25/05/2020 23:30

@TiddleTaddleTat
I first realised my HR was elevated because I have a Fitbit. It estimates your resting heart rate and I could see it creeping up over the course of the first few days of the illness. It also keeps track of your heart rate during the day, and I was really shocked about three weeks in when I saw just how high my heart rate was when I had walked about 200 yards up the road. If you don't have a Fitbit or something similar, you can take your pulse for 30 secs and then double it.
I am mid-50s and post menopausal. But one thing that this wretched virus seems to have also done is knocked out my temperature control system and also the hot flushes are back with a vengeance (after 2 years without them) - I really sympathise if you're going through this too.

Pickle40 · 25/05/2020 23:41
