Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

I just though I would pop back have done two more full days of work one at home and the other in school yesterday. I managed both but last night was so tired and achy. I feel very achy this morning but it might be because I was so active yesterday. I do feel normal but just get tired so quickly and the cough which comes back every now and then. Working from home today. Husbands results for his blood test to check his kidneys and luckily there has been no change in the function, Hooray that was what he was most worried about. He still gets breathless at times and tight chested but is improving. Glad to here some others are recovering and so sorry others are having relapses.

Moodgie · 05/06/2020 09:42

@meercatmama Great news! Could you please share what your most lingering symptoms were?

Whatnext2018 · 05/06/2020 10:04

Hi all,
Just had head scan and neck x Ray, quick but scary.
I asked the x Ray person if all was okay, she said she can’t say and the results are for my doctor to say. Is that common practice? Getting paranoid at what they’ve seen and could offer no indication.
My doctors appointment is Monday at 6, so will spend the weekend worrying most likely.

Moodgie · 05/06/2020 10:27

@whatnext2018 Don’t worry, it is common practice.

fedupofbed · 05/06/2020 11:02

Morning everyone. Day 90 god knows what and still in relapse since Sunday - oscillating between numb face, shortness of breath, swollen oesophagus/throat and horrible jittery anxious feelings/palpitations. More bloods this afternoon.

@Whatnext2018 please try not to worry over the weekend as that is standard practice.

@Meercatmama so glad that you and your husband are continuing to improve. And I'm so thankful that you keep coming back and updating us - it makes such a huge difference for morale on here, well for me anyway!

@Needsomegoodies I have very horrible strange sensations relating to my heart too. It's very hard to describe - almost like that whole area of my chest feels over sensitised and raw, but jittery as well.

Lightsabre · 05/06/2020 11:06

@Whatnext2018, they are not allowed to comment unfortunately. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know) - maybe distract yourself with a box set or some reading to try to take your mind off things. At least you don't have to wait long for the consultation. You've probably said, but can I ask was it done on the Nhs or private?

@Meercatmama, glad to hear you're back at work - it gives us all hope. I'm just praying that these post Covid after care health hubs are set up quickly.

Day 66 here. Not much has changed - short of breath, chest tightness, pain in lungs and deep in throat ongoing. Will attempt my usual short walk today but feeling fatigued today and a bit mentally low due to the lack of medical knowledge and care.

Lightsabre · 05/06/2020 11:08

@fedupofbed, sorry to hear your relapse is ongoing. Would you mind telling me what the blood tests are for please?

Whatnext2018 · 05/06/2020 11:16

Thanks all,
No point in worrying, will try to prevent my mind from going to that place this weekend.

@Lightsabre It was private, I’m not in the uk though, but it has all been done in under three weeks, whereas it would take months otherwise.

Whatnext2018 · 05/06/2020 11:17

We’re pretty skint now!

fedupofbed · 05/06/2020 11:51

@Lightsabre I don't exactly know due to a combination of brain fog and not being very scientifically minded!

In the past (about 5 weeks ago) I know they tested me for kidney and liver function, white blood cell count, thyroid, ferritin and vitamin B levels, and a D-dimer in hospital. About 3 weeks ago the cardiologist also tested for CRP and vitamin D.

I asked for repeat tests, but also specifically mentioned vitamin and minerals (I'm keen to find out about my potassium levels), adrenal glands and ASA (which I think is related to autoimmune). She said they would try but there is a hold on some tests at the moment due to the pandemic, mainly the vitamin and mineral ones (ie less important ones). She's going to send them off to the lab and see what comes back.

@Whatnext2018 I know, this illness has cost me a fortune!

fedupofbed · 05/06/2020 11:53

Oh and I had the heart one too (troponin?)

Whatnext2018 · 05/06/2020 12:58

Does anyone know more about Kate Garraways husband and what he’s going through? I didn’t see the interview but saw a snippet of it. She said the virus has gone but that it’s affected him from his head to his toes and she’s not sure he’ll recover from the effects/after effects?

Whatnext2018 · 05/06/2020 13:06

Sorry, there’s been a thread made about him on here, just tragic.

Egghead68 · 05/06/2020 13:20

@fedupofbed sorry about your relapse. Hope it lifts soon.

Whatnext2018 · 05/06/2020 13:30

@fedupofbed I know 🙈it’s costing a fortune.

Sorry you’re feeling so rough, hang on in there, it will surely pass as this thing does, it’s a rollercoaster,

UncomfortableBadger · 05/06/2020 13:40

Ugh, I spoke too soon the other day about feeling back to normal after 10 weeks - woke up today with what feels like a head cold. Exhausted, sore throat, sinus headache and stuffy nose. For pity’s sake...

alittleprivacy · 05/06/2020 14:11

Day 86 here and I'm hopefully very close to fully recovered. I have a bit of a tight tense throat. Some mild sternum pain. Very little heartburn so I'm considering stopping the GERD medication for a few days to see how I manage without it. It's very rare now to get a pain in my right lung on a deep breath. I noticed yesterday that whenever I take a deep breath I tense up involuntarily waiting for the pain and it wasn't coming until right at the very end of the day.

On the other hand, I'm quite weak and am pulling muscles or aggravating my joints very easily. That's almost certainly because 12 weeks of very limited activity has taken it's toll and I need to rebuild my strength. I decided to try a skate a little while ago. I didn't feel anxious but obviously was because I was shaking really, really badly while I put my gear on. I was aiming to go around the block 3 times, which I learned today is exactly 1km a circuit. But got rained on before I went around twice, so cut it short at 2. And I'm so, so weak from it. My limbs feel like utter jelly. Though surprisingly, my peak BPM was only 124, which is a good sign.

In other news today is a very, very bad day. My parents' dog who we see every day and is my dog's best friend, was hit by a van on their shared drive this morning. He's in vet hospital now but I have a really bad feeling as he's quite old and his legs were bad already. The worst thing is that the vet is obviously limiting access to humans, so if he has to be pts, only one person can be with him. I haven't told DS yet as I'm hoping for a miracle.

Moominmamma33 · 05/06/2020 14:18

Hey, sorry about your relapse @fedupofbed. @alittleprivacy fingers crossed for the poor dog. @Whatnext2018 hope you aren't waiting too long to hear your results.
I'm not sure what day I'm on but 12 weeks ish so 80ish! Mostly feel fine now, which is amazing, but continue to have a constant thirst. Does anyone else have this?

WotnoPasta · 05/06/2020 14:21

I have terrible sinus pain today. I’m only on day 14. I do get times when I feel okay, not for long, but nice to have a short break from it.
DD has been unwell for the last 2 days, she’s 12. She slept 13 hours last night and seems a bit brighter.

MillStone · 05/06/2020 14:23

@alittleprivacy

Sorry to hear about your parent’s dog.

Great you’re feeling good. Sounds like that holy grail 12 week point that gets mentioned.

We’re you suffering with chronic fatigue, very bad SOB and heart issues?

Great news about the GERD too. Can’t wait to taper off it.

Thanks Smile

Egghead68 · 05/06/2020 14:48

I’m so sorry about your parents’ dog and fingers crossed something can be done for him, @alittleprivacy

Day 76/77 and I managed to keep going to 12 noon but have had to rest since then. No other symptoms apart from fatigue today (and probably a high heart rate).

@WotnoPasta antihistamines and paracetamol might help with the sinus pain.

alittleprivacy · 05/06/2020 14:56

We’re you suffering with chronic fatigue, very bad SOB and heart issues?

I don't think I had very bad fatigue. I was sleeping a lot more than usual and tired much earlier than normal. But as my breathing improved, my tiredness improved, so I think that I was tired from having to work harder at breathing which was exhausting at times. My main post-covid symptoms were Costochondritis, pleurisy in my right lung and GERD. I had erratic heart rate at the end of the initial infection and the first month or so of the relapse. Just sudden spikes as high as 156-166BPM while in bed doing nothing. I could usually feel them and when I'd check my cardiogram app, I'd see the spike on the graph. But in May, my heartrate became much more normal and in line with my activity. Treating the GERD was the real breakthough though. I was improving slowly with some relapses. Once I started taking the pantaflex, the relapses stopped, though it will be a while before I do anything that puts pressure on my chest wall.

Mittens030869 · 05/06/2020 15:00

Hello again, everyone, how is it going? I'm still not good, temperature every day in the afternoon, cough and chest pain. I spoke to a doctor yesterday and I'm being referred for blood tests and another chest X-ray. We'll see what that shows. It's day 114 now, so this is really bringing me down. Sad

fedupofbed · 05/06/2020 15:16

Oh @Mittens030869 that's such a long time. So frustrating. And @UncomfortableBadger sorry you're relapsing too.

@alittleprivacy so sorry to hear about your parents' dog 💐

@Moominmamma33 glad you're on the mend. I think I have more dry mouth than than thirst, but certainly drinking lots.

TiddleTaddleTat · 05/06/2020 15:42

@Mittens030869 that sounds rough. And so many days since the original infection! Hope the scans are clear.

I spoke to a GP this afternoon who has said the chest pain is most likely pleurisy or muscular pain. He said the standing up heart pain is likely to be relieved by beta blockers so he's prescribed propranolol (sp?) never taken these before.

Have others seen a benefit from beta blockers?

He's also advised me to increase exercise. It's a delicate balance. Although I must say that my fatigue has actually got much worse since I stopped going for daily walks. It's really hard to get a balance.
