Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

@Egghead68 I have a dry cough. I think mine is reflux related? it feels like it is.

godhelpusall · 31/05/2020 20:23

@Callimanco that was most definitely covid19! Do you feel ok now otherwise?

godhelpusall · 31/05/2020 20:24

@Callimanco sounds v similar to me, although I lost my smell and taste

WotnoPasta · 31/05/2020 20:24

Can I join. I’m waiting for a test result, I think I should have done it much sooner but I didn’t have any of the main symptoms and thought I was being ridiculous.
Basically I thought I was a bit rundown hungover but then my glands in my throat went up, then under my armpits too. This was agony. Went away. Was tired but managed, went out briefly and since then have been unbelievable exhausted for the last 5 days. My legs have been really painful, particularly my knees, although this has gone today.
I also keep getting a racing heart like anxiety and periods of dizziness.
I haven’t lost my appetite though, I’ve been starving.

Whatnext2018 · 31/05/2020 20:31

@Callimanco Also sounds similar to mine, although my dizziness seems to have lasted ages and I’ve not had ingestion..but sure it will come!

Callimanco · 31/05/2020 21:05

@godhelpusall
Did you have a test?
I am pretty much ok. Occasionally light headed and some aches, but that could be my age!

Egghead68 · 31/05/2020 21:40

@hollieberrie thank you. I’ll try an omeprazole.

hollieberrie · 31/05/2020 21:44

@Egghead68 are you getting on ok with the omeprazole? I'm too scared to take it..

Moodgie · 31/05/2020 22:03

@stayathomegardener Where did you buy Micromax? I might get it too.

stayathomegardener · 31/05/2020 23:06

@Callimanco you reminded me, I love my food normally and completely lost my appetite. Lost a stone in a month which put me at under 8stone, was really worrying.

Re the sleeplessness I remember thinking I'm sure I read you can die from a lack of sleep and I just seemed to be awake 24/7 wondered if I'd ever sleep again.

I think you've had it!

stayathomegardener · 31/05/2020 23:08

@Moodgie from this company, let me know how you get on.

Morning. Day 72/73. I have a sore throat and sinus headache. Today is the first day I’m allowed out for a walk (I am shielding) but I don’t think I can go for one without causing a relapse. I need to save my energy for a 2-mile round trip tomorrow for an in-clinic antibody test (which I expect will be negative).

@hollieberrie I couldn’t find an omeprazole in the end. I took them earlier on in the illness and they were definitely helpful for some of the burning sensations. I think taking the odd one is pretty harmless.

Wishing everyone a better day,

Egghead68 · 01/06/2020 07:42

Thank you @katysun and @whatnext2018 and everyone else for the support yesterday. It got me through a difficult day mentally.

sleepwhenidie · 01/06/2020 08:20

Sad DD had a couple of good days and is really low again, coughing badly, looks awful, temp 37.8. Another request submitted for GP to call me, think we need to try AB’s for her chest. @Scampersaur how is DS?

Egghead68 · 01/06/2020 09:00

Hope your DD feels better soon @sleepwhenidie.

sleepwhenidie · 01/06/2020 09:08

You too Egghead...and everyone else here Flowers

Lightsabre · 01/06/2020 09:36

Sorry to hear about your daughter's ongoing struggle @sleepwhenidie. The GP should prescribe some antibiotics in case she's picked up a secondary bacterial infection. If you're really worried, call 111 and she might get seen in the children's Dept of A and E.

Day 63ish here. This searing upper back pain doesn't seem to be getting much better but plodding on with paracetamol and ibuprofen gel. Another day of rest.

MrsBennetsnerves · 01/06/2020 09:38

I'm on week 11 here, although only week 3 since an official positive test. The itchy feeling in my lungs is receding again although it's stil there like a really faint shadow. A new one this week is really annoying pain on the side of one calf. It feels as if the bone is aching. I had sore throat on and off last week.
@WotnoPasta a swollen neck node was one of my week 1 synptoms, just on one side. It was very sore. I also had fever, vomiting appetite loss etc though. Hopefully you'll get results soon.

Moodgie · 01/06/2020 09:38

Hi all, thought I’d update. Roughly day 87.
Morning nausea and toilet rush still here.
Breathing issues fingers crossed I think are less often, mostly like a tight windpipe - this is difficult to describe. Low energy levels.

Gracesquirrel · 01/06/2020 09:40

Time for me to join the thread I think please bear with me if I ramble a bit as I seem to have lost any sense of a "timeline" I remember stuff happening but when and in what order continues to ellude me (and I'm finding that incredibly frustrating).

I went to bed feeling perfectly OK on Sunday 18th May I was woken I think not long after falling asleep feeling incredibly cold, freezing really and shaking violently, brain wasn't working properly so I have vague memories of trying to move but being unable to just laying there so so cold and the violent shaking. Eventually managed to sit up and had a pounding headache still non stop violent shakes. Hubby had fallen asleep in the lounge as he had a very important zoom meeting on Monday and even though I knew I was really unwell I for some reason couldn't make myself call out to him or even try and go wake him - didn't think I could actually walk that far to be honest. Thermometer and paracetemol were in the kitchen so no access to those either but again wasn't really thinking straight so didn't even attempt to go get them.

Dragged myself out of bed and staggered into the bathroom room head was spinning and legs like jelly made it into my home office and collapsed into my office chair as I was desperately thirsty I do remember the first bottle of water ending up all over me as I was shaking so badly I couldnt get it in my mouth. A lot of the rest of the night is a blur I know at some point I was back in bed still freezing and shaking, I know I was in the bathroom another time where I vomited and had diarrhea and I do remember thinking "food poisoning" and at that point I was boiling hot and sweating. The next clear memory is seeing the bedside clock showing 5:30am and thinking I'm getting up as I can get hubby soon and somehow making it to my office again on legs that barely worked. I think I was hot then as I remember praying to myself not to feel so cold again as everything was now hurting, I had a headache and a very stiff neck which I thought was because of how rigid I'd been and the shiverring. At some point then the shiverring started again, I'm a vaper so I'd been struggling to take a puff on my vape (not thinking straight) I shook so violently I smashed the top of the vape against my crown and knocked it clean out!

Some time later hubby got up and found me in the office - I could barely make him understand how I was feeling, he got the thermometer and that first reading was 40.7c and at that time I was naked and sitting in my office and had been for sometime so without clothes or duvets etc. I took some paracetemol and had a cold flannel so just kept wiping my arms and legs and face until my temp came down to 39.5 when I started to warm up and stop shaking (or feel like I was warming up). The rest of that day is a complete muddle I know I sent an email to work saying I wasn't well and wasn't going to be at a zoom meeting that day, I know my temp never dropped below 38.7c and at times was back up to 40.4c I know I kept falling asleep, and that getting from my office chair to anywhere else in the house became a major effort. I had a constant headache, painful kneck, and lost hours of time staring blankly into space (according to hubby).

At some point I called NHS covid line and they told me they though it was Covid 19 - I remember crying a lot and wanting to call my son but hubby saying don't worry him you are OK for now wait and see how things progress. I think it was that same day Wales joined the home testing thing and hubby tried to get me a test I know I spoke to someone who said they were all gone and try the next morning. At one point I was sobbing my heart out and saying I was scared I wouldn't see our son again and hubby said "call him" which I did. I drank gallons of water but couldn't eat, though late evening hubby made me some savory rice and I had about half a dish but it took me a couple of hours to maybe eat half of it.

Next clear memory is the following day managing (fluke) to book a covid home test emailing work saying taking the week off, and literally spendig the day in my office with netflix on but I've no memory of what I watched. Still had headache and painful neck brain fog, and feeling exhausted, weak legs - trying to stand up took enormous effort, and that day pretty much passed me by temp between 37.8 and 38.4c.

The following day temp was pretty much back to normal still exhausted, neck still stiff headache there but more ignorable, still feeling rough but better than I had been, I even managed to bung something in the microwave for us to have for dinner and I finally risked a shower which was bliss.

Fast forward to taking and sending off the tests and the result on Sunday saying NEGATIVE.

Went "back to work" on Tuesday only to find that I was useless brain not working, drifting off in the meeting, not able to follow what was being said, when asked a question I would start to answer and then completely forget words and end up just staring blankly at my screen. It was horrible. I know I agreed to do some stuff which needed to be done by 3pm today for me to report on later - I haven't done it. I can't motivate myself or even think of what needs doing I end up staring at a blank document and not knowing how to start.

Friday night I went to bed and woke up at 2am scratching myself raw my skin was like hot prickles everywhere saw what I assumed was a gnat bite bunged some savlon on it and went back to bed. Saturday skin felt it was fizzing and crawling, had an area of a rash so assumed allergic reaction to "bite" and took Benadryl - no sleep at all Saturday night itching all over even my scalp - checked the mirror and was horrified angry red rash all over my body hubby checked my scalp and I even had spots under my hair I couldn't stop scratching the itching. Ended up being triaged 3 times each time being told you need to see a Dr.

Finally saw a Dr at out of hours clinic who said it was a post viral rash took my history including the negative result and he told me that it was likely a false negative and that I have had covid 19 and the rash is as a result of the virus.

At no point have I had a cough - I have been breathless and panting/shallow breathing at various times but I'd not really associated that with anything as I don't like the heat and just thought it was that but hubby has comented on my breathing more than once but I can take deep breaths theres no congestion and no tightness. My temp has been fine for the last 10 days even when the rash has been at its worst, though my legs have felt really heavy like tryng to walk through deep mud.

So I don't know test said not covid GP says was covid shrugs

WotnoPasta · 01/06/2020 10:25

How long did peoples tests take. Mine got picked up Saturday morning (and was delivered same day). I’m literally checking my phone all day.

Egghead68 · 01/06/2020 10:30

Sorry you are suffering @Gracesquirrel. Around 30% of cases are missed by the swab tests apparently (the government does not publicise this). Hope you feel better soon and don’t have to join the ranks of us longterners.

@Moodgie nice to hear from you. Sorry you are not feeling great.

Moodgie · 01/06/2020 10:48

@egghead68 It is just irritating, I think I have got used to this now and it really frustrates me, and worries me, that it won’t just go!

MillStone · 01/06/2020 10:48

Morning all, hope everyone who’s feeling rough is managing to rest comfortably.

@Lightsabre sorry about the horrible back pain. Have you found any relief from heat? I found wearing a black top with my back to the sun was good. It’s been really hot and sunny here for months.

@MrsBennetsnerves are you on wk 11 since symptoms but tested positive at wk 7 for an active infection?

TiddleTaddleTat · 01/06/2020 10:50

Morning everyone, hope you are having a better start to this week.
I had my covid test back, negative. Unsurprising really, the Covid app suggested I take it (and update the app accordingly).
My employer also seems to think they know better than my GP and told me I needed to take a Covid test.
