Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

Yes and for the Abbott test to be conducted prior to 40 days.

This is copied from another thread:

Loads of people in the Reddit group testing negative for antibodies, even after testing positive via swab: www.reddit.com/r/COVID19positive/comments/gq92zd/yet_another_diagnosed_positive_with_negative/

Can I ask if anyone also has had dizziness so late in the illness. I am 10 weeks and feeling bit dizzy today. Also I have an awful pain on one side of my neck and going into the shoulder - it feels muscular and GP agreed with me but no amount of ibuprofen or paracetamol has alleviated it. Bit worried as neck pain can be related to the brain at times. Am sure i am overly anxious but this is what the illness does to you.

@egghead68 sorry to hear about the negative. Perhaps the test is not accurate at home as government has now asked all testing to be halted.

Egghead68 · 27/05/2020 16:32

Thanks @user34254356
Yes home-testing now halted due to reliability concerns:

There's too many people to name check but I'm still getting dizzy spells and funny turns too, along with neurological symptoms including feelings of slack muscles in face, 'fight or flight' heightened anxiety feeling, sore eyes and headaches. These have been my newest symptoms.

These come and go between my older symptoms of SOB and crazy heart rate - these still reoccur but less intensely so. I also still have GERD and burning sensations but these are controlled by omeprazole (I had a day off yesterday and symptoms came back).

The 2 other symptoms that have been absolutely persistent are chronic fatigue and insomnia/unproductive sleep.

I will be on week 12 tomorrow. My illness seemed to follow the pattern of many others here but more stretched out. I do feel like I'm very incrementally improving but I'm expecting it to take a long time.

BellatrixLeStrangest · 27/05/2020 17:03

I've not been swabbed or tested I'm afraid, it's all guess work but it's so interesting to read everyone's replies and know I've experienced that too!
Couple of weeks ago I had tingling and numbness in my face and my right hand occasionally loses sensation too!
I'm not trying to speak on behalf of anyone but I think taking Vitamin D in the highest dose will help recovery quicker. As will magnesium.
Magnesium is amazing stuff and its main job is to help with neurological stuff. I have a spray.
Given I haven't taken any of these vitamins for the last few weeks I've taken everything today and I peeked up a bit this afternoon and don't feel as terrified to go to bed tonight.
I believe someone shared that they were scared and their fight/ flight is all off and that's how I've been feeling. Very anxious.
Hope you don't mind but I'll hang out here for a bit because I feel like I've finally found a group of people who are experiencing what I am and I'm not losing my mind after all! Sending good vibes to you all!

fedupofbed · 27/05/2020 17:18

Please do hang with us @BellatrixLeStrangest !

Just to add, I started taking magnesium before bed a few days ago. It's impossible to say for sure but I do think my sleep has improved a bit. I'm waiting for blood test results for vit D before I up my dose.

The reason I saw a chiropractor today was to try and work on the agitation/ parasympathetic system. It's too early to say how successful this was as she said I'd probably be wiped out for a day or so afterwards and I am. I'll keep you posted though.

fedupofbed · 27/05/2020 17:32

Has anyone else had yawning issues? For most of my illness I've been unable to yawn! This returned a few days ago, I'm delighted.

alittleprivacy · 27/05/2020 17:56

I don’t think a blood test that relies on sensitivity could possibly be very accurate if the blood sample is squeezed out of a pricked finger, exposed to air as it’s collected and then sent off in the post with no temperature control on the journey. I’m not a medical professional but I’d rather a proper blood draw by a professional with the blood transported to the lab under specific conditions.

Whatnext2018 · 27/05/2020 18:36

@BellatrixLeStrangest That’s exactly the same as I’ve been..the tingling head/face/jaw with dizziness too is so frightening and I’ve had a numb right arm..with a racing heart sometimes and palpitations, I’ve convinced myself I’m having a stroke or allsorts, it’s v frightening, but other times I feel fine.
I also take magnesium, but did already as I sometimes get kidney stones and was told years ago it helps.
I’m also scared to sleep at night, what happens to you?

AndsLee · 27/05/2020 18:59

@Egghead68 Found this...
www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/27/english-retailers-told-halt-coronavirus-home-antibody-test-deliveries

Looks like the tests were withdrawn from retail. Abbott have manufactured them to be used in a clinical setting using blood drawn from a vein. Flowers

Toptottie24 · 27/05/2020 19:00

Hi
I’m on week 9 of having Covid 19.
I was really quite poorly and ended up in hospital twice.
It’s affected my lungs and now I’m on 2 bakers and I have to monitor my breathing in a tube twice a day.
Caught an infection due to Covid and was in the verge of pneumonia, 2 lots of antibiotics.
I’m feeling ok then I’m not, sleeping as I’m sooooo fatigued and my body is weak and I can hardly move!!
Getting fed up now as it’s dragging on and my doctor ( who has been amazing) doesn’t know the damage it’s done to me.
I can’t work as I can’t walk far without getting breathless.
Why the hell am I still recovering and why am I still getting symptoms.
Is there anyone else who had had it bad like me and it’s not going away

Toptottie24 · 27/05/2020 19:27

Meant to say 2 lots of antibiotics not bakers!!! Lol

MillStone · 27/05/2020 19:33

Hi @Taptottie24 sorry to hear about the past 9 weeks. Hope you start feeling brighter soon.

There’s a wide variety of posters here with timelines up to 3 months and varying symptoms and severity.

Toptottie24 · 27/05/2020 19:43

Thank you I will look, just wanted to hear from anyone else who has had this god awful virus and can’t seem to shake it.
Thank you for your kind wishes x

fedupofbed · 27/05/2020 20:08

@Toptottie24 sounds like you've had a terrible time. Sorry you have to join us but hope you can gain some support from this thread.

Egghead68 · 27/05/2020 20:51

@Toptottie24 what an awful time you have had Flowers Were you admitted onto a ward or treated in A&E? Unfortunately this seems to linger for a long time for a number of people. I am on week 9 too (of whatever I have got, which may or may not be covid but has the same symptoms).

@AndsLee I know terrible timing on my part. A day later and I would have at least got my money back.

Sending good wishes to everyone.

LetsBeSensible · 27/05/2020 21:12

Hi all. It’s my 10 week covid-versary today, I celebrated by having a cracking migraine and lying down/sleeping all day.

I’m so sorry for everyone who has invested in the antibody tests - their £ and their hopes- it does explain why so many were negative I guess, but what a blow. It’s only the fact that I’m broke that I’ve not had one.

I’m actually a bit scared of having a “negative” test on file, this is why I refused the Covid test (it’s 9 weeks too late for it to be effective) and I just couldn’t bear being told by Drs that I haven’t had Covid, when we all know we have.

@Toptottie24 you sound like you’ve been through the mill!

Whatnext2018 · 27/05/2020 21:40

@user34254356 Sorry posted too soon.

Yes, I’ve been dizzy on and off for a couple of weeks now, lots today and v funny tum.

Does anyone know how long on average this appears to have lasted? From other posters or people online etc.

Have any of you taken things which have helped? Tablets for dizziness, something for heart rate, something for sleeping/anxiety etc..does it help?

godhelpusall · 27/05/2020 21:46

@Whatnext2018 mine went on for a few weeks. Touch wood it's gone now Confused

godhelpusall · 27/05/2020 21:47

I'm on anti depressants for anxiety

Feelpoorly · 27/05/2020 21:48

I too have moved into the horrible anxiety feeling. It is nasty and doesn't help the sleep. I am week 11.

Whatnext2018 · 27/05/2020 21:49

@godhelpusall Just the dizziness or you’re feeling better now? (Hope so!) I’m wondering what the average recovery time seems to be?

Crayfishforyou · 27/05/2020 22:02

@Whatnext2018 I took my first dose of propranolol this afternoon, my heart hasn’t gone above 90 since, even when I walked normally up the stairs.

Toptottie24 · 27/05/2020 22:10

I was just treated in A&E, had to have oxygen.
So glad I was allowed home as the doctors said my breathing was more stable.

Toptottie24 · 27/05/2020 22:13

@Egghead68 hope you start feeling better.
It’d be nice to wake up with none of the symptoms!
It’s random as I seem to have a couple of days where I’m feeling ok then bang! I’m down again.
Wishing you all the best x
