Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

Both my DD who is 16 and I have numb arms (left arm) and dizziness periodically. It did unsettle me this morning as it was particularly bad. I don’t have any of the other symptoms, though. Have you spoken to a doctor at all?

mumlurker · 27/05/2020 13:24

Not for a while. Gearing up to call them tomorrow I think but not holding out for much sympathy!

KatySun · 27/05/2020 13:45

I know, it feels fairly pointless but I think there must come a point when the symptoms have gone on so long that you get referred on.

I spoke to my GP yesterday - she has prescribed more antibiotics which I will get tomorrow. Not holding out much hope they will help but will give anything a go!

mumlurker · 27/05/2020 13:48

You're probably right. I've found dealing with them so emotionally draining I think it's actually been hindering my recovery at points...hoping as I near the three month mark they'll start to take things a bit more seriously. What were your antibiotics for?

Silvergoldsilver · 27/05/2020 13:53

@mumlurker I’m the same at the moment - the neurological symptoms have really amped up in the last few days. Dizziness, wobbly on my feet when I can stand up, blurry vision and am mixing up words when I speak. Spoke to my GP yesterday and he a
made the dreaded ‘anxiety’ diagnosis for the 50th time. Sorry to hear you’re suffering also!

KatySun · 27/05/2020 14:17

The antibiotics are in case there is a secondary infection as I still have chest pain and a cough.

My doctor is actually lovely but generally speaking, I think the only recourse they seem to have is the coronavirus hub and she said there was no point sending me back there (I agree). I guess if the antibiotics don’t work, then maybe I might get referred for other tests as well, I just don’t know and I am not sure they do either.

KatySun · 27/05/2020 14:17

Sorry that was for mumlurker

Whatnext2018 · 27/05/2020 14:31

@mumlurker and @Silvergoldsilver I have the same for over a week and a half now (although feels like longer) dizziness, some confusion-mixing things up when getting dd’s food ready etc, slight balance problems. Some tingling in jaw and face..although was worse last week. Plus upper back and neck pain on and off and leg pain/burning on and off.
The dizziness type symptoms are the scariest and the strange adrenaline feeling in body when trying to sleep at night, I really dread going up to bed now, it was 2am before I finally fell asleep last night, after a few episodes of the strange shaky falling asleep then suddenly waking up thing. No idea what to do, so exhausted.

Whatnext2018 · 27/05/2020 14:34

Oh and diarrhea on and off, sneezing and some nose sinus type pain

Needsomegoodies · 27/05/2020 15:18

Another with neurological symptoms here - I get a weird lightheaded/fuzzy feeling and my concentration is terrible (making working from home even harder). It’s been worse for the past two mornings so has taken me ages to get up.

I spoke to my GP this morning regarding on/off racing heart/palpitations/chest pain (forgot to mention the fuzzy head!) and now that I’ve had a negative swab they’ll let me get a blood test. Won’t do antibody test though.

Needsomegoodies · 27/05/2020 15:21

Has anyone else noticed their veins getting very prominent - particularly when my pulse is up, I go very veiny over my arms and legs (not just where these are usually noticeable)

TiddleTaddleTat · 27/05/2020 15:24

@Crayfishforyou I have had a few turns like that. Feels like a very hot flush and accompanied with palpitations for a period and really fast pounding heart. When I told the GP this she asked if it happened when I was feeling anxious and I realised no, it seems to happen at unexpected times but usually when I am standing and prompts me to sit down again. She was a bit concerned about this and I'm to follow up in a couple of weeks.

Crayfishforyou · 27/05/2020 15:28

@TiddleTaddleTat exactly.
I've been prescribed propranolol and the gp said to take it when needed and it should help within an hour.
But I dont know if I'm going to need it until it happens, and it happens really fast

Whatnext2018 · 27/05/2020 15:44

Does anyone else feel like this post part is worse than the actual illness was itself? I wasn’t tested for it but believe I’ve had it. At the time it came on and off with hot flushes, some palpitations, tight chest, diarreah, sleeping a lot etc..but I feel like I was quite ok for a while but the last couple of weeks with all these nerve issues, it’s become harder? Shouldn’t there be an improvement? It most definitely feels like my body is still trying to fight something.

mumlurker · 27/05/2020 15:57

My illness came in two waves - five weeks of hell, a week where i felt a lot better, a hideous relapse and then a painfully slow not always linear improvement over the past three weeks. The nerve stuff scares me the most at the moment...I definitely feel like although the illness itself was hell, the aftermath has been a lot more stressful.

I also look awful at the moment - grey skin, sores round my mouth, grey hairs sprouting, a boil on my back...the list goes on! I look about 10 years older. I'm sleeping about nine hours every night but you can see from my face that I'm totally done in and my immune system has taken a beating...

MillStone · 27/05/2020 15:57

@Whatnext2018

Yes I’m eats much worse. Although the SOB was unbearable for weeks early on.

Our bodies may well be trying to fight something, the problem is there’s nothing to left to fight anymore.

TiddleTaddleTat · 27/05/2020 16:09

Had a drive thru blood test yesterday, just to rule out other causes of fatigue, and came back with a text message today saying vit D is low . I've been taking multivitamin and mineral (centrum advance) but seen the vit D content is low at 5ug, so going to take 25ug vit D supplement as well.
According to google this is safe as long as it doesn't go over 4000u or summat.

Egghead68 · 27/05/2020 16:11

Well my antibody test was negative. I must be another one who has that Covid-indentical illness.

TiddleTaddleTat · 27/05/2020 16:15

@Egghead68 how do you feel about that? It must be very confusing

godhelpusall · 27/05/2020 16:16

@Egghead68 which test was it

Egghead68 · 27/05/2020 16:19

I expected it as nearly all seem to come back negative and it decreases in accuracy after 40 days (I did the blood draw at 61). I don’t feel confused. I am sure I have covid, as did many of my colleagues at the covid-central hospital where I work. I think either the test was inaccurate or I didn’t produce antibodies.

Whatnext2018 · 27/05/2020 16:19

@Egghead68 That’s so strange, too much of a coincidence we’re all having similar.

Well, just rang docs, urine test negative, bloods all fine apart from shows a small infection? Doc will ring me tomorrow to either to ask me to come for further testing or prescribe something, but can she see from the test what it is and what to prescribe? What sort of small infections usually show in blood tests, does anyone know, Google doesn’t help much. So dizzy today.

Egghead68 · 27/05/2020 16:20

It was the Abbott home test. I have heard a rumour they have just withdrawn home-testing due to inaccuracy but I am trying to confirm this.

godhelpusall · 27/05/2020 16:22

@Egghead68 apparently it needs venal blood to be accurate so the home tests aren't as good.
