Seen running out of Downing Street
Went to self isolate with his wife in Durham with his parents when he had symptoms
Seems he had his family with him
He stayed with his wife and his parents looked after the children

Yeah - let’s throw the entire Government lockdown policy under the bus to protect Cummings.

Why?

Helmetbymidnight · 23/05/2020 21:59

Why?

he made them- he can break them? - without him theres no brexit? without him they know they will struggle?

merrymouse · 23/05/2020 22:05

So at a time when they need maximum public trust the government have chosen the Trump fake news response.

It just gets worse.

B1rdbra1n · 23/05/2020 22:11

he is considered to be irreplaceable
a bad tempered snake is irreplaceable:(
christ on a bike:(

Bumfuzzled · 23/05/2020 22:13

Wow, Scummings really must own the key to the governments Pandora’s Box! They all seem pretty scared about this and far too eager to protect him.

B1rdbra1n · 23/05/2020 22:13

why does he feel so sure of himself that he can be so unapologetic?
if he's so clever why cant he see the writing on the wall....or is there another wall that we cant see?

vera99 · 23/05/2020 22:14

Cumming's first, then Johnson's head on a stake.

SabrinaThwaite · 23/05/2020 22:26

Exactly - why are all these Cabinet Ministers endorsing Cummings making a mockery of the Government instructions?

What isn’t the unelected Cummings expendable?

The80sweregreat · 23/05/2020 22:46

The man is shameless.
I feel for his son who is the innocent in all this palaver and being plastered over the front of the mail too , poor kid!

JudyCoolibar · 23/05/2020 22:57

Talking of cabinet ministers endorsing this and coming over all sympathetic, I wish a few journos would ask them why they didn't offer to help to avoid the need for the family to drive 270 miles. I'm sure that Rees-Mogg for one could have offered them a spare nanny or offered to have them to stay.

Egghead68 · 23/05/2020 23:01

He knows where all the bodies are buried and would bring them down with him.

NotABeliever · 23/05/2020 23:07

infuriating. They're defiant or trying to justify it with "common Sense" when no mention of people being able to adapt the rules based on common sense has been mentioned before now.

NotABeliever · 23/05/2020 23:08

The fact he travelled while he or his wife or both had active symptoms is criminal.

SabrinaThwaite · 23/05/2020 23:36

So ... who’s been supporting Cummings today? Who has a squeaky bum tonight?

Hancock
Gove
Raab
Rees-Mogg
Braverman
Dowden

Who else?

SnoozyLou · 23/05/2020 23:45

Wow, Scummings really must own the key to the governments Pandora’s Box! They all seem pretty scared about this and far too eager to protect him.

It definitely looks like that.

B1rdbra1n · 23/05/2020 23:53

Or could it be that it's all a piece of hastily improvised theatre, the emerging scandal was seized upon as handy quick exit from the lock down that turned out to be super glued down
they have deliberately cultivated public outrage to make us want to unlock
Nah....that's just crazy talk innit🤪

ShinyFootball · 24/05/2020 00:16

Well it's certainly very handy given they clearly want everyone to go back to pretty much normal while abrogating themselves of responsibly when it goes tits up.

B1rdbra1n · 24/05/2020 00:30

Never let a good crisis go to waste🤔

Egghead68 · 24/05/2020 06:43

The Times says that Sir Mark Sedwill, the cabinet secretary was effectively demoted very recently (Simon Case was brought in above him to lead the covid response). Cummings has been trying to get rid of him for a while. Maybe he is behind the leaks of Cummings’ lockdown breaches?

Comenext · 24/05/2020 07:18

Cummings and Gove both have wives who are journalists. What a coincidence!

Humphriescushion · 24/05/2020 07:26

The mps tweeting in his defense that he was caring for his family, obviously infers that the plebs dont care enough about their family to reasonably stretch ( break!) the rules!

Helmetbymidnight · 24/05/2020 07:27

those tweets are disgusting- and again that they would prefer to fuck over the nation rather than go against him is revealing.

Ultrasoft · 24/05/2020 08:37

So were all those senior figures sent out to defend him and put themselves in indefensible positions when at least one person (DC) must have known it was highly likely there was more to come out. Or are the papers lying as the government says? Presumably they'll have some evidence to prove otherwise or they wouldn't ahave run the story, but if that's the case, it's quite a risk for Downing Street to take that position.

After the Scottish Doctor did no one say "look Dom, I'll do it but can you promise me it was the only trip?". Plus surely "someone" knows where these senior people are at all times? So if he did make more than one trip peope some of his colleagues must have known?

Interesting the Biris hasn't dirtied his hands by saying anything personally.
