See jasjas1973 that's what's frightening about this. OH, 50 something, is a Uni tech and will be dealing face to face with multiple students from all over the country in September (probably - still waiting to hear from management what the plan is).

Jenny Harries needs to stop propping up this shower. It is damaging her credibility too. At that time, there was absolutely no question that people were told to isolate in their own homes. They were told not to travel to family and were told that help with groceries etc would be available locally. The Cummings family had friends and colleagues in London who could have helped if needed. For Jenny Harries to start waffling about safeguarding is utterly ridiculous and pretty embarrassing.

I hate to say this but Whitty is much more careful in these briefings to distinguish between the science and the politics. Jenny Harries is more definitely blurring this line and is losing credibility as a result which is a real shame.

They should have waited a day or two and said we are investigating blah, blah but now you have a series of unequivocal responses from ministers like Hancock " entirely correct" when the story is still half baked.

It makes Cummings more than people expected to be the case, to appear as some kind of golden child. What is clear is that he is considered to be irreplaceable.
