New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

A&E have separate areas for COVID patients they ask you your symptoms and take you to the red or green side. Do not be afraid to take your DD in you will be allowed to stay with her is she is under 16

Hello everyone. I've periodically read these threads, as I had mild symptoms at the end of March and on and off since then. DH and I have actually just been for a test, invited as part of that symptom tracker study (via the app). I highly doubt it will be positive as even if I did have it back in March, any ongoing symptoms would not (I presume) result in a positive by now (8 weeks later). I've not to my knowledge had a raised temperature, and no cough, only chest tightess and a strange burning sensation when breathing in, heart palpitations and taste disturbances (mouth also feels sore inside). These symptoms have all fluctuated over the past couple of months but only ever very mild. As I've never had a high temperature, if it is/was covid I don't think I will have produced any antibodies (isn't this necessary as part of the immune response?). I don't expect I'll ever find out either way. DS(15) has had a pin prick rash on his chest but no other symptoms, and the rash has almost disappeared. All very weird and I'd love to know whether I've had it or not.

pinkoneblueone · 16/05/2020 16:25

@moodgie yes last week I had a trip to a&e as I over did it and caused my self pain around my heart. I had lots of tests then only one that was slightly off was my ecg

Hi all. Very tired after my 5am start. Any advice on how to stay asleep??!
By the way- anyone get earache in bone behind ear? Another weird symptom

SimpleKindofLife · 16/05/2020 16:45

@godhelpusall this is my worst time too. I've just come upstairs for a lie down as the chest and back pain is worse and burning, my HR increased and I'm all jittery and breathless. I also feel just weird and completely unsettled. I'm like this until about 9pm although last night was ok.

Dinner is so up and down and I won't know until it's served up (by my poor DH!). Some days I'm fine and eat fine. Some days I feel sick and can't manage a mouthful. We shall see!

SimpleKindofLife · 16/05/2020 16:49

@godhelpusall my ds5 has earache and is taking antibiotics... not sure that's the right call or not as I think it's 'just viral'.

Sleep, ah how I used to love my bed... hate it now! I've been avoiding all caffeine and I'm taking Kalms before bed but it's not doing much. I've ordered some relaxing herbal tea and some night remedy, it's arriving on Wednesday, I'll let you know how it goes.

godhelpusall · 16/05/2020 16:52

Just think once upon a time we'd be in a convalescent home. Not trying to manage a house family work etc

SimpleKindofLife · 16/05/2020 16:53

As I've never had a high temperature, if it is/was covid I don't think I will have produced any antibodies (isn't this necessary as part of the immune response?).

Please god, I hope not @fadingfast as I never had a fever either! Having antibodies is one of the few hopes that is getting me through this! Sad

Interesting you were invited for a test. I do the app too, hoping I'll get invited for a test but probably pretty pointless now. Let us know the results.

alittleprivacy · 16/05/2020 16:58

@SimpleKindofLife I love your post @alittleprivacy thank you! And congratulations on feeling so much better. How many days/weeks are you?

8 and a half weeks since I first experienced breathlessness. I also hadn’t mentioned, as it sounds weird, but at some point in the last few days, I’ve de-aged by about a decade. My face has just stopped looking so drawn and haunted looking.

fadingfast · 16/05/2020 17:01

Don't worry @SimpleKindofLife I know nothing about how the immune system works so I'm probably talking bollocks. Just read something somewhere about the high temperature being caused by your immune system kicking in??

Rosesofeyam · 16/05/2020 17:06

Day 59

I decided to take the risk today(shielding) and went out in the car for 2 hours with DH. I didn't leave the car, too many day trippers.
The thought behind it was my chest is getting worse and sitting up in the car would help.

Well other than feeling completely exhausted. My chest does feel better. Still hurts to deep breathe, SOB, chest area pain.
It was good to get out of my house (prison) for a couple of hours.Grin
All the baby lambs jumping around looked so cute.
I haven't been out since 1st April and that was only to the village doctors.

It took more effort to get ready to go out in the first place.( I didn't realise how much this virus has taken out of me, until I took over an hour to shower and get dressed.)Sad

DH says we will have to do this a couple of times a week to help with my breathing.

Well I definitely feel like I've climb scafell pike.Grin

Silvergoldsilver · 16/05/2020 17:10

@alittleprivacy Thank you so much for you post about what you’re doing to keep yourself well, it’s all great advice! Hope you continue to stay very well!

Kitcat122 · 16/05/2020 17:21

@alittleprivacy I feel exactly the same about it being chest wall inflammation. Also like you have realised that I cannot do any exercise that involves my chest. I felt great last week so did a light yoga session. It felt amazing at the time but suffered terribly afterwards for 2 days. So I have decided to stop worrying about exercise for now and just walk until further notice.

Egghead68 · 16/05/2020 17:24

I am glad you escaped @Rosesofeyam. I had an illicit walk outside on Wednesday after A&E. It was lovely - I saw cygnets.

Moodgie · 16/05/2020 17:24

Thank you @pinkoneblueone What did they say? Was it reassuring?

ohidontgetit · 16/05/2020 17:27

Had some fish and chips delivered and left at the doorstep.

Was looking forward to it all day but as soon as DH plated it up suddenly felt absolutely sick at the thought. DD the same.

Is this common?

SimpleKindofLife · 16/05/2020 17:29

@alittleprivacy again, thank you! I look like I've aged about 10 years so that's good to know it might be temporary.

8.5 weeks is good going in this. So pleased for you. Hopefully we're all not far behind.

pinkoneblueone · 16/05/2020 17:29

All my tests came back clear there was only a slight change on my ecg. I still take it very easy if I feel the slightest pain round my heart

chocolate26 · 16/05/2020 17:51

Hi everyone, I'm 35 weeks pregnant and unsure if I have this awful virus or GERD and anxiety! Do you all feel genuinely unwell with the virus? Like if you had any other virus or cold? I have a few symptoms (no fever) my doctor has said GERD as I am getting a lot of stomach acid coming back up and burning my throat. I don't feel unwell at all just the cough, burning throat and achey joints! I'm really worried incase I have it and pass it to baby 😞

mummyandbaby · 16/05/2020 18:22

I've had symptoms on and off since April. Thankfully mild enough not to need the doctor or hospital. Overnight and today I've had the 'deep heat' feeling over my chest and back. I'm getting concerned, what is causing this? Temperature 37, otherwise I am generally ok. Is there anything I can do or take to stop this heat?

ohidontgetit · 16/05/2020 18:25

My tongue has turned green! DH commented on it and I’ve just looked in the bathroom mirror.

Ugh. Can’t help but feel I’m in for a long slog now...

Rosesofeyam · 16/05/2020 18:42

egghead I've read your trials and tribulations of A&E. Sad

Just getting a change of scenery made all the difference.
