New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

OP posts:
Moodgie · 15/05/2020 09:44

@TheWooisStrong @Kitcat122 Great news - we need positive stories! May I ask what the last symptoms to go were for you?

Moodgie · 15/05/2020 09:47

@Meercatmama Thank you as well, just read your post. Can I also ask you what your most lingering symptoms were?

TheWooisStrong · 15/05/2020 09:57

@Moodgie The ache in between my shoulder blades and chest aches went, then the last of the cough, then I got my energy back.
I only managed one lap of the field but it felt great to run again.

Valsemove · 15/05/2020 09:58

@Meercatmama and @Kitcat122

Thank you for this advice, both of you - really helpful and I will try to bear all of this in mind.

It's good to hear that you've both managed to find a sort of equilibrium at the moment. It's very difficult isn't it when many of us are used to bouncing back from illnesses relatively quickly. I think that's what so many of us find so confounding and frustrating about this. Guess we just have to dial down our expectations a bit, at least in the short term. Baby steps as @Meercatmama said.

Moodgie · 15/05/2020 10:00

@TheWooisStrong Did you have any tight chest / breathlessness at all?

Rosesofeyam · 15/05/2020 10:00

Day 58

Still wheezy and SOB. Started bringing up phylum again.

I hope it doesn't get worse, I don't want to be on steriods and antibiotics again. Sad

Being severe asthmatic I'm used to this merry go round.
Typical that it's nearly the weekend and I will have to go through 111.

SimpleKindofLife · 15/05/2020 10:03

Thank you for that @Meercatmama. And I'm so pleased to hear you're doing so much better!

I wish I could press fast forward and head straight into June. Just wishing the days away atm.

SimpleKindofLife · 15/05/2020 10:05

I tend to be worse coming up to the weekend too @Rosesofeyam. I fell ill on a Sat so it a depressing anniversary.

Some GPs are doing weekend services atm, it might be worth checking?

Norugratsatall · 15/05/2020 10:06

Thanks to those who have posted stories of their recoveries. Very encouraging for those of us that are still struggling on in the mire of this virus.

Sorry to hear of those that have had hospital visits @countingsheep and your son @pinkoneblueone. I do hope you are all feeling better soon.@Valsemove Sorry to hear you have an unsupportive GP! How upsetting and frustrating for you! We are at the mercy of these people atm and a little understanding and cautiousness does no harm. There is so little they know about this wretched virus and they need to heed that when talking to patients.

Can I please ask.... I've got a strange weakness in my right arm. It won't 'work' properly, it feels neurological in origin. Has anyone else had this? It's scaring me a bit.

TheWooisStrong · 15/05/2020 10:07

@Moodgie tight chest - only a bit. Breathlessness on exerting myself until a couple of weeks ago.

SimpleKindofLife · 15/05/2020 10:12

I had this in the beginning @Norugratsatall and I think it was one of my first symptoms. Then it went until around week 5 when I've had pins and needles feelings in both arms on and off. Plus tingling and pain in various places!

Rosesofeyam · 15/05/2020 10:41

simplekindoflife yes, I always seem to get worse on a weekend.
My GPs is rural and A&E is 40 miles away. We have an OOH doctor service a few miles away.
OOH phoned me after I contacted 111 when I needed the second lot of antibiotics/steriods for the mild pneumonia last month.
They were great.

Moominmamma33 · 15/05/2020 10:43

Checking in. @countingsheeps I am so sorry you've had this happen to you, hope you're doing ok today. @Meercatmama congrats on feeling normal again! Thanks for the great advice as well. @wallyrag @SimpleKindofLife I am with you on the finding it hard to keep going with this for so long, also not used to being unwell! I keep giving myself little talks and saying mantras - Just keep swimming... This, too, shall pass...

Kitcat122 · 15/05/2020 10:45

@Moodgie tight chest, chest and back pain and shortness of breath were my lingering symptoms. Even though I feel good I was in the playground at work this week and the cold wind made my chest hurt. Luckily it disappeared as soon as I went into the warm but shows me I still need to be careful.

Lightsabre · 15/05/2020 10:49

.

Moodgie · 15/05/2020 10:57

@Kitcat122 Thank you for your reply. Was the shortness of breath post exertion or at random too? I had it yesterday and woke up and still feel like something in my windpipe, xx

Norugratsatall · 15/05/2020 11:09

@SimpleKindofLife Ah thanks for replying. Glad to hear that a) I'm not imaging it! And b) it's possibly connected to Covid which I had a sixth sense it might be!

SimpleKindofLife · 15/05/2020 11:48

Found this on Slack, some of it really resonates with me:

Moodgie · 15/05/2020 11:55

It has to be day 71 from me. I have been out for a couple of walks now and can do some jobs in the house. Runny tummy and nausea still there, that’s been about 4 weeks. The last few days the fatigue has seemed to ease off. Tightness in chest and breathing issues come and go and that’s my biggest issue. It’s not really aggravated by activity as I went for walk yesterday and it didn’t make it worse. Although a bit of a scratchy windpipe is back today. My WBC came back normal last week and the GP said that suggests there is no active infection.

godhelpusall · 15/05/2020 11:57

@SimpleKindofLife I just read that too! I've been looking up vagal nerve stuff and it resonates with me. I actually wondered if I have Gastroparesis

stayathomegardener · 15/05/2020 12:02

Onepinkoneblue thanks for the new thread.

Day 70 from burning lungs or day 65 from the Oh crap moment.

I think I've turned a corner.

Last week I was starting to think after so many weeks of acid indigestion it would never lift. Never had it in my life previously. Plus all the other bit SOB, tight chest blah, blah, blah.

So now if I do nothing I feel normal, fatigued but no physical symptoms.

I think it will flare up again on exertion so I'm scheduling rest in even more so; like a job.

But I'm feeling a little positive for the first time.

Egghead68 · 15/05/2020 12:08

I’m feeling more positive too. Definite improvement for around 4-5 days now (day 55/56 today). Hope I am not speaking too soon... heart rate and fatigue still rubbish though.

SimpleKindofLife · 15/05/2020 12:15

Great news @stayathomegardener and @Egghead68!

Porcupineinwaiting · 15/05/2020 12:15

Just marking my place. Will catch up w thread later.

godhelpusall · 15/05/2020 12:39

@stayathomegardener are you taking anything for the acid?
