Thank God we've got Nicola Sturgeon.

She's not perfect, no politician is.

But she's straight and clear and concise.

People in Scotland know very very little has changed.

Westminster are really showing their true colours. No wonder we have 30,000 plus deaths. Fucking shambles.

Her husband is cutting her hair I'll believe that when I see it!

Her and her DH have had a go. It's not hard to trim a fringe and the back of your head

ssd · 13/05/2020 10:46

Why shouldn't they cut their own hair @Blackbear19, what a daft comment.

I keep thinking about the awful care home deaths up here. I bet that's keeping NS awake in the wee small hours. She must feel so responsible for that and she doesn't seem like someone who wouldn't care. It must be a soul destroying job just now.

Everyone has different opinions which everyone is entitled to. I live in London and have Scottish relatives who can’t stand Nicola S as do a majority of their friends.

Some people like Boris some don’t.
Some people like Nicola some don’t.

Simple.

Tonz · 13/05/2020 16:15

I couldn't give a flying fuck who doesn't like Nicola. It's the cheap shots that have no relevance to what's happening now I can't be arsed with

AlecTrevelyan006 · 10/10/2020 19:23

Turns out she wasn't so great after all.

I mean, in some ways it ways it's her fault - a virus does what a virus does, but she spent a lot of time crowing about how much better Scotland was doing compared to England.

Roll on independence.

Chickenandrice · 10/10/2020 19:59

She hasn’t imposed travel restrictions on the central belt so they will travel to the highlands in the October holidays spreading the virus. Which is not great

neveradullmoment99 · 10/10/2020 20:01

@Horehound

Yep!
Totally agree with you.
neveradullmoment99 · 10/10/2020 20:02

Sorry that means thank god we have NS.

She is still doing a way better job than boris.
LaureBerthaud · 10/10/2020 20:18

How's Nicola doing on Health and Education?

Asterion · 10/10/2020 20:20

How is Scotland doing compared to England? Better? Worse?

It doesn't really matter how the leader comes across, what matters is the result. And as far as I can see, Scotland isn't doing any better than England?

MummyPop00 · 10/10/2020 20:50

NS is just doing marginally better than Sweden.

Scotland - 5,404,700 population - 2544 deaths - 0.047%

Sweden - 10,343,403 population - 5892 deaths - 0.057%

TheGreatWave · 10/10/2020 20:56

I'm not sure that means much.

Why the fuck has someone resurrected this thread? Schadenfreude?

Oh I didn't realise it was a zombie thread. I did get a sense of deja vu with ssd fangirling NS again Grin
neveradullmoment99 · 10/10/2020 23:35

I didnt know it was a zombie thread either!

I think it shows it is very hard to control a virus no matter how good your “communication “.
It is inevitable people get fed up with the restrictions not to mention the effect on businesses.
I think where Nicola has been naive is when she was crowing in the summer about Scotland’s “success” and comparing Scotland to England, talk about zero Covid and encouraging her supporters to put up signs on the border telling the English not to come. That was silly and immature of her and has now backfired somewhat.
Hopefully the Westminster gov will resist any temptation to say anything back as that would be equally immature ( although I am sure they have wry smiles particularly over the Ferrier incident)
I think there are a few expressions that spring to mind and she should have had the foresight / leadership/ maturity to think of them. Pride always comes before a fall and people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones!

MummyPop00 · 11/10/2020 08:25

One of her government PH advisors Devi Sridhar gets on my nerves.

‘Another problem is that immunity to coronaviruses wanes quickly and reinfection is possible. “Herd immunity” is illusory – we have no idea whether immunity from Covid is long-lasting’

Is she for real?

‘Immunity to coronviruses wanes quickly’ = definitive statement

‘We have no idea whether immunity from Covid is long lasting’ = .....huh?

I’m so glad reading The Guardian is free because I certainly wouldn’t be paying for this crap.

Bocadilla · 11/10/2020 08:39

It’s good to have this period of reflection. I think most can see now Sturgeon is no hero. I live up here and most SNP supporters I know have been completely turned off by her. The scales have fallen from their eyes and they see her for what she is- just like the rest of the politicians, self serving and point scoring.
