She's not perfect, no politician is.

But she's straight and clear and concise.

People in Scotland know very very little has changed.

Westminster are really showing their true colours. No wonder we have 30,000 plus deaths. Fucking shambles.

Janey Godley is hilarious, I wonder if NS sees her 😂

weebarra · 10/05/2020 21:17

Apparently she does like JG!
In what was is she racist??

Dead2me · 10/05/2020 21:17

I wasn’t sure about her, but think she has handled this situation very well. She’s very likeable and open, she admits if she doesn’t know something and is happy to say she’s still learning and wrestles with her decisions. I’m very happy to be Scottish right now and worry immensely for my English family and friends, many who are front line NHS workers and tell a very different story to Boris.

Sally872 · 10/05/2020 21:17

I trust her. Have never said that about a politician before.

I don't think Scotland and England are doing very different things, but message is clearer in Scotland.

(Love Janey Godley too @weebarra)

Gronky · 10/05/2020 21:18

What specific policies has she implemented for Scotland that have offered better protection?

EachDubh · 10/05/2020 21:18

She is doing her job for the people of Scotland, this isn't political if it was she would have ripped Borris a new one, she has in fact been completely restrained and very clear that this is not about politics or independence. Unless wanting to leave the EU then some in Scotland wanting independence is not racist 🤔.
You don't have to like her but leave her polutics behind when talking about how she deals with the virus because she has.

Hadenoughfornow · 10/05/2020 21:18

ssd she does. There is a clip on YouTube of NS talking about Jane Godley.

GoneFishingAgain · 10/05/2020 21:18

So glad to live in Scotland and I trust Nicola. She speaks clearly and honestly, with empathy. And she always has a sign language interpreter next to her, she's inclusive.

I really worry for family and friends in England.

RingaRosie · 10/05/2020 21:18

Feel the same way about Leo Varadkar, in Ireland. Very clear since the start. Folk understand the rules.

Saoirse7 · 10/05/2020 21:19

Same here in NI.

They have their faults but at least they're clear on this.

Sally872 · 10/05/2020 21:19

Nicola retweeted one of the first Janey Godley videos. Good sense of humour too.

Bleepbloopblarp · 10/05/2020 21:20

Nicola sturgeon has the luxury of giving her opinion in whatever way she chooses (usually very aggressively) she isn’t responsible for the crumbling economy and isn’t the one with hard decisions to make. She can just come along and mouth off about whatever she likes - safe in the knowledge she can say “I told you so” when things turn to shit. I’m sure she will want English money bailing Scotland out though when they need it.

At the moment the government are damned if they do, damned if they don’t - imo sturgeon is irrelevant and aggressive. Can’t stand her - she makes my hackles rise.

Daffodil101 · 10/05/2020 21:21

I like her straight talking. But I do think she’s a bit of a point scorer.

Hadenoughfornow · 10/05/2020 21:21

I don't get all the worry for England.

The message might be a bit grey, but NS will need to come up with a new message soon.

I'm in England. I know what I will do. I will carry on the same way I have been for the last few months, just perhaps go out for more walks.

I will send my kids to school when they open but apart from that our lives won't change much.

Lots of Covidiots in Scotland too.

ladylunchalot · 10/05/2020 21:23

I'm so glad she's running the show up here. She's clear and concise in her daily briefings and says it like it is. Also love Janey Godley, she is hilarious, look forward to her voiceovers, they've become the highlight of my day.

Crimples · 10/05/2020 21:24

To those that think Boris’s message is clear, unless the press conference tomorrow is clear and concise, wait and watch what happens over the next couple of weeks.

BunsyGirl · 10/05/2020 21:24

@ssd More fool you if you think that is the case. She wants independence and she will do anything to get it.

Utterlydespairing · 10/05/2020 21:25

Thank fuck Scotland’s got her. I don’t want her anywhere near me

EachDubh · 10/05/2020 21:26

**Bleepbloopblarp-
Obviously your opinion and we can all respect that.
However we are saying we are glad we have her because she is clear, no political point scoring, shares information not propaganda, is following her advisors and willing to stand her ground and say nope, not ready yet. I haven't found any briefings to be aggressive or irrelevant and at no point has she said I told you so. However if you live in Scotland and you don't like her politically it may be more difficult to see beyond tge normal politics at this time. Certainly at the end of this we will be able to judge her fully as I am sure the electorate will do.
Nobody is saying if they like her in day to day politics.

DanielleHirondelle · 10/05/2020 21:27

I agree OP, she communicates clearly and without waffle.

RJnomore1 · 10/05/2020 21:29

I am no fan of her politics but I’m grateful for her clarity in this and I can see the woman aging visibly with the stress.

EachDubh · 10/05/2020 21:31

RJnomore1
I would agree, i wonder when she last had a decent full day off?

Methtones · 10/05/2020 21:32

I’m sure she will want English money bailing Scotland out though when they need it.

It tends to be the other way round. Mind it was the english politicians who were determined scotland should stay in the UK...

ScarfLadysBag · 10/05/2020 21:35

Very glad to be in Scotland right now (I always am, but more than usual tonight!). Already had some messages from friends in England asking if they can come live here Grin

woodpidgeons · 10/05/2020 21:46

I'm Scottish and neither here nor there about independence, so no axe to grind there.

I will say I agree. I trust her, she strikes me as genuine and she is certainly clear, concise and professional. I can't say any of those things about the PM.
