Just that really. Lighthearted.

We ordered a “for the benefit of Mr Kite” poster from America that came today, desperate to get it framed at the local framing company.

Also missing McDonald’s 😂🐷.

What are you missing?

The Range for all the crap I didn't know I needed!

DarylDixonsHair · 05/05/2020 20:07

Tesco cafe! Not me personally but the dc love it and keep asking to go. That and the swimming pool.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 05/05/2020 20:09

I really miss restaurants and would love a long walk with a lunch at the end.

Also miss a mooch around M&S.

Oddly enough, I don't need clothes at the moment as we are now wearing Scrubs at work (mental health nurse) and likely to remain in uniform for the future so no more own clothes. Love a mooch around the food hall though, without tape on the floor and social distancing stress.

polkadotpixie · 05/05/2020 20:12

Primark...I need new pants!
Car boot sales (I love a wander round)
Waxing salon
Hairdressers
Dunelm
Costa

Ohhh I can't wait for life to start up again!

Mummypig2020 · 05/05/2020 20:12

I’m really missing a national trust day out! We just renewed our English heritage too at scams but obviously haven’t used it yet!! I miss a mooch round tesco/asda at my own pace.

My local Haberdashery
Cafe for take out coffee and cake
Charity shops

Grumpyoldblonde · 05/05/2020 20:27

I had to do a work journey a couple of days ago and decided on the way back to try poundland. It was heaven! I had it to myself and stocked up on cleaning supplies, medications (plasters, painkillers) chocolate and snacks, garden games - it was wonderful.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/05/2020 20:29

I’d like to wander round John Lewis, get my hair cut, then go for coffee/cake. Home via the shopping mall for a poke round White Company and a sniff of the candles, then to M&S foodhall to pick up something nice for dinner.

Standandwait · 05/05/2020 20:30

It's not exactly the shopping I miss but the window-shopping, maybe some browsing without buying, the general hustle and bustle of people in the street

Standandwait · 05/05/2020 20:30

We're doing fine really but there is nothing really new in my day, any day

speakout · 05/05/2020 20:31

My local charity shops.

Tana433 · 05/05/2020 20:46

No shops really although i did like to have a good browse of my local charity shops back in the day.
What im really missing is concerts. Ive had two cancelled so far that i was supposed to go to and they are re-scheduled for October but im not holding my breath.

BarkandCheese · 05/05/2020 20:47

I’m missing the NationalTrust too. Walking the dog and having tea and cake at a NT place always used to be a comforting constant whatever else is going on in my life or the world.

darceybusselllovesbrussells · 05/05/2020 20:53

@EmmaGrundyForPM do you live in an area called CE?

MileyWiley · 05/05/2020 21:24

McDonald's and I'll be devastated if Oasis isn't saved as their clothes look good on me and I like the style of them each season.

louderthan1 · 05/05/2020 22:39

I miss just generally mooching round town with my mum. Coffee/lunch/pub/dinner

Charlottejade89 · 06/05/2020 07:58

Primark - I have recently found out that i am expecting for the second time so i want to get some stretchy dresses for summer and some bits for my dd.
Apart from that I am missing being able to take my daughter to the park, or to local soft play or just to have a coffee and cake at the garden centre with dd and dp

Giggorata · 06/05/2020 08:08

Charity shops, the Oxfam bookshop, tea shop, Bargain Madness, Primark, TK Maxx and garden centre.
That's just described a typical afternoon out before Covid.

MaccaPacca81 · 06/05/2020 08:15

GARDEN CENTRES!!!!

Flaxmeadow · 06/05/2020 09:13

I'm not really missing any shops or shopping. One thing this lockdown has made me realise is the amount of money I used to spend on crap that I didn't need

What I do miss is taking my grandchildren to museums, parks and beauty spots. I'd make a picnic and we would just potter about in a relaxed way. Maybe buy a fridge magnet or souvenir and discuss local history. But mostly we just would ponder on the trees, birds, flowers, the sky and the changing of the seasons. The things that money cannot buy

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 06/05/2020 09:19

I smashed my last good wine glass and my candles have burned out so right now I'd love to go to M&S home and have a splurge."
In my nearest, very large, branch of M&S, we have to walk through the main part of the store to get to the food hall. We walk through ladies' clothing and they have moved candles, picnic sets and some other homewares down so that we walk past them on our way to buy food. The assistant helpfully told us we can buy anything on our way through.

Would your M&S be doing the same?

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 06/05/2020 09:26

Garden centres.
My hairdresser.

I also have an urge to spend a whole day sauntering around John Lewis, The Range and Dunelm Mill.

ginsparkles · 06/05/2020 09:28

As silly as this sounds, I miss the one I work in the most. Can't see it changing for a while though as we are very definitely non essential.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 06/05/2020 10:17

I also want the garden centre to open. My closest big one with a delightful café is in Ambleside, so they will have suffered from having no tourists or locals buying. I will be supporting them when they reopen.
I miss TK Maxx and Boots as well. Ooh and Waterstones.
