Just that really. Lighthearted.

We ordered a “for the benefit of Mr Kite” poster from America that came today, desperate to get it framed at the local framing company.

Also missing McDonald’s 😂🐷.

What are you missing?

I miss my lovely hairdresser, my lovely lady who treats my toes, damaged by years of being trodden on by various horses, going to sit outside at our local deli for breakfast, and our garden centre!

Craiglang · 05/05/2020 17:47

Primark. All my kids have used lockdown as an opportunity for an unprecedented growth spurt (which isn't a surprise given how much they eat in a day when they are home!). Trousers are inches too short, t-shirts are exposing belly buttons. I usually do a big Spring/summer wardrobe shop around Easter to see them through until school uniform time again in August. I hate shopping online as one DC is super skinny and looks swamped in bigger styles, one is quite solid and struggles getting his calves in "skinny fit", and the other is tall their age with really long legs and arms. I have to see the clothes to know how they'll fit each DC.

dementedma · 05/05/2020 17:50

Garden Centre.

Norugratsatall · 05/05/2020 18:03

Bookshops... in particular my hometown has two good second hand bookshops. Suspect they may not have survived this crisis.

HRH2020 · 05/05/2020 18:24

Book shop
Hairdresser
Beautician (my eyebrows!)

BarkandCheese · 05/05/2020 18:28

Charity shops and coffee shops. My idea of a perfect few hours is a browse around charity shops, buy a new (second hand) book then get a coffee and start to read it.

UtterTwaddle · 05/05/2020 18:29

Garden centres, bookshops, yarn shops.

PumpkinPie2016 · 05/05/2020 18:33

My hairdresser and the lady who waxes my eyebrows!

cologne4711 · 05/05/2020 18:36

Nothing really except for the hairdressers.

AuntieMarys · 05/05/2020 18:39

Hairdressers
Beauty salon
Comptoir Libannais
TK Maxx
Decent coffee shop

HungryForSnacks · 05/05/2020 18:39

I miss Cos.

I wouldn't dare buy anything online though as 9/10 I look absolutely absurd in their clothes so I really need to try them on!!

MarshaBradyo · 05/05/2020 18:39

Garden centres for sure
I don’t miss hairdressers as I don’t really like going but I do really need a haircut

woodhill · 05/05/2020 18:41

I like John Lewis and that Home sense shop

Also M&S and Lakeland

WhiteChocTwix · 05/05/2020 18:48

@PumpkinPie2016

I agree with you 100%!

I also miss my big Tesco as it used to be. I'd love to wander around it not feeling stressed out because there are too many customers in the store and no one can be bothered to social distance!

I would love Dunelm to be open and fully stocked. Have spotted new lights online but no stock sadly.

Gammeldragz · 05/05/2020 18:49

Charity shops. Both donating and browsing. Most of my other shopping is done online as I dont generally like shopping, though I'll admit to enjoying the odd Primark shop every few months.

Londonsuffolkmummy · 05/05/2020 18:55

Not at all dull

I love hb I’m going tomorrow

I miss the beauty salon not being opened I’m going to look like Dennis Healy by the time it reopens

kingis · 05/05/2020 19:01

I think I would go to Debenhams first. I like their forever sales and I have found nice bits this year.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/05/2020 19:06

Not a shop, but missing a National Trust day out.

SpnBaby1967 · 05/05/2020 19:09

IKEA and primark.

I desperately need new furniture as both mine and DHs drawers broke and our bed broke last month. But the stuff we want isn't available for delivery in my area.

Hollyhead · 05/05/2020 19:13

John Lewis, Superdrug, independent chocolate shop in town, H&M,

Alicemovedtothecity · 05/05/2020 19:42

1 hour to go round Primark and pick up bits for me and my child and a Burger King on the way home and believe me I would be a happy woman Grin

Squigglypig2 · 05/05/2020 19:47

The local boutique shops for gifts and good quality pre-curated clothes.

selfisolationsociety · 05/05/2020 19:53

I love carboots

Shop wise, my local coffee shop, it’s still open I see it on my daily walk and have to repeat non essential when I walk past. I do like a Costa, nandos after we’ve been shopping, I miss going into tk maxx, having my nails done too.

user200000000 · 05/05/2020 19:56

Primark, charity shops and car boots.

CeeJay81 · 05/05/2020 19:56

I'm actually missing many shops that are still open(home bargains, Poundland etc) and miss going for a Costa too. Due to my location it's not an essential journey to go there cause I'd have to get a bus or train to the nearby town. For shops where I live it's 1 supermarket, a spar and a butchers that is all I've had access to besides online.
