Just that really. Lighthearted.

We ordered a “for the benefit of Mr Kite” poster from America that came today, desperate to get it framed at the local framing company.

Also missing McDonald’s 😂🐷.

What are you missing?

I smashed my last good wine glass and my candles have burned out so right now I'd love to go to M&S home and have a splurge.

PatriciaHolm · 05/05/2020 16:17

Not really missing shops as such, but restaurants. We used to eat out at least twice a week! And theatre, and concerts. All realistically the stuff that will take the longest to return.

DS is definitely missing McDonalds and KFC though!

WorraLiberty · 05/05/2020 16:18

Primark

I really fancy a trip into town and a good spend on new wardrobe.

By 'good spend' I mean about £60, as that'd get loads of outfits and underwear Blush

irregularegular · 05/05/2020 16:19

Actual shops? None at all. I do almost my shopping online anyway. The local foody shops, small supermarket and hardware shop are all open.

I do miss: pubs, restaurants, cafes, gym, hairdressers.

Very excited that one of our local pubs is re-starting Garden Pizza next week!

irregularegular · 05/05/2020 16:21

And theatres and other venues! Not often, but sometimes.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 05/05/2020 16:21

John Lewis. I'm not even sure why as I hardly ever go shopping!

There's a lovely clothes shop where I live called Cuckoo. I miss browsing in there.

The shop i really miss is Steamer Trading but that went into administration before Covid so i won't get to browse in there any more ever. I do love a good cookware shop.

Martysmarvellousmeals · 05/05/2020 16:24

TKmaxx/Homesence for the random items you can pick up, as well as the hidden gems.

PumpkinP · 05/05/2020 16:26

Our mcdonalds is one of the 15 opening so kids will be pleased. I don’t really miss any shops as haven’t been going out anyway so if they were open I wouldn’t be going to them

Spamellahamella · 05/05/2020 16:27

Greggs Smile

Hotel Chocolat....I love the free sample tray!! Don't miss many other shops. I miss cafes, pubs, restaurants and cinemas more.

Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2020 16:30

John Lewis. Just having a mooch about and a cuppa at Place to Eat.

TeaAndBiscuits666 · 05/05/2020 16:36

Home Bargains (🙈 classy!)

It is still still open but I've avoided it so far as it's not really essential. It's handy for low price items such as cleaning products, some home wares, children's craft sets etc, and I'm getting really frustrated paying so much more to get those things online.

I'm already planning my first visit, I need sticky hooks and a new washing basket.

Typing this has made feel like the dullest person in lockdown!

ifonly4 · 05/05/2020 16:40

Surprisingly not missing the shops, but would love to go for coffee and cake, to our local pub or out for pizza.

starrynight19 · 05/05/2020 16:42

Tk max and the garden centre. All this lovely weather I just want to browse for plants and have a nice coffee and cake in the cafe.

Threelionsandalioness · 05/05/2020 16:44

Charity shops! Love a bargain and a browseSmilex

Ducky1610 · 05/05/2020 16:46

TK Maxx . Apart from that my favourite cafes which I hope survive all this

TheSandman · 05/05/2020 16:46

I am bemused by the fact that anyone would miss McDonald's - Really? I mean really?? It's CRAP!

Personally I miss second hand shops / charity shops. Every other type of shop you know what's on the shelves and where. It's predictable. Boring. Routine.

Second hand? Every time is an exploration and a lucky dip.

pigsDOfly · 05/05/2020 16:46

I was thinking about shopping this morning because, from what I've been reading from the online newspapers, shopping will never be the same again.

Apparently, there will be no room for wandering and looking and we're all going to end up being asked to shop on our own rather with another person.

So if that's true, what I will miss is going to my DDs town and wandering round the shops with her. We mooch around, buying bits and pieces, also love Homesense, then stop for some lunch, shop some more, and then stop for a coffee.

That I'm definitely missing.

pastapestoparmesan · 05/05/2020 16:48

Charity shops so I can get rid of a tonne of stuff I’ve tidied up and sorted out, or rather sorted in to my bulging cupboards!

Mummypig2020 · 05/05/2020 16:49

Would love to go for dinner too! To the local tapas place :(

Dog groomer and hairdresser! I know they're not shops but... the pooch and I are looking decidedly scruffy!

Wolfgirrl · 05/05/2020 16:53

It's not a shop but I will honestly be phoning my hairdresser and nail technician at 9am on the dot the day they are due to open.

I never had myself down as high maintenance but it turns out I am.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 05/05/2020 16:55

B&M - I want a load of fairy light and kitsch tacky garden decorations.
Also Primark. DD has had a growth spurt and I want to let her run amok and buy lots of new things that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

Mostly I long to just mooch around Cardiff and buy stuff I don't need and have lunch out with my husband and not he worrying about anything

PoloNeckKnickers · 05/05/2020 17:11

Charity shops! I have about four bags of stuff to donate and also love a good mooch.

namechangenumber2 · 05/05/2020 17:30

TKMaxx! My favourite shop, could get lost around the aisles for hours..

Also primark - could really do with some new PJ's and I love their loungewear
