I do remember hearing something about people with A type blood being more susceptible - and (East?) Asian people having more of the Ace2 receptors, although I don’t know how much concrete evidence there is for either of those theories. I’ve definitely heard that the majority of people have type A blood in Japan. Google tells me 40%.
He has had chicken pox before, and the gp we spoke to did wonder if it was a 2nd bout. It came and went within about 24 hours though, and the fever had gone before the rash came up so they thought it was more likely to be a post viral rash. Thankfully I didn’t read about the covid/rash link until after his rash had gone or I would have been (more!) worried!
The weird thing is though, if it even was coronavirus, that dh is completely East Asian, type A blood, ex heavy smoker - it should have hit him hard. He’s been fine
