First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

@SchrodingersKitty oh no that’s horrible for your DH and you too! At least A&E admission worked well and fingers crossed the bones will heal well (is it stable fracture?). Glad to hear you’re feeling better but this isn’t what either of you need right now.

@sleepwhenidie I would certainly try speaking to a GP - I’ve had prolonged fever (also with 3 brighter days without in between) and as it’s then returned at 4 weeks I have been prescribed antibiotics in case of secondary infection (several others have too). It might not be that but is probably worth a try under the circumstances and helps for some.

eyebrowsofinstagram · 16/04/2020 19:13

@sleepwhenidie really sorry to hear about your DD. There would be no harm in speaking to GP again tomorrow just to get reassurance, and so they're updated on her case.

Do you think she somehow got a stronger dose than the rest of the family?

mumlurker · 16/04/2020 19:13

@SchrodingersKitty

Ugh I'm so sorry to hear this. Obviously each case is different but a relative of mine broke his leg in several places and had to have a whole lot of metal put in - took him four months to be walking properly again but he's absolutely fine now mobility-wise. Wishing your DH a speedy recovery x

Meercatmama · 16/04/2020 19:24

@SchrodingersKitty
So sorry to hear about your husband. Wishing your husband a speedy recovery.

SchrodingersKitty · 16/04/2020 19:26

@mumlurker: thanks, that's helpful. I don't know if you saw my previous posts, but this is on top of what they think is secondary lymphoma in the brain, which is what he is taking the steroids for. We are still waiting for the test results and treatment plan, so this is just one more hellish thing.

Aisforharlot · 16/04/2020 19:27

Day 31, did a home workout, feel quite knackered now! We’ll see how I feel later.
I am making sure to eat lots and lots of protein, which can help to maintain muscle mass whilst we’re not active as normal, and promote muscular healing. I’d recommend anyone else sick ups their protein as far as possible also (protein yoghurt like skyr, eggs, especially the whites, fat free cottage cheese, protein powder are all good if meat is not your thing)

Aisforharlot · 16/04/2020 19:28

Sick ups! Sorry, just realised that unfortunate turn of phrase. Anyone who has been poorly, rather.

Porcupineinwaiting · 16/04/2020 19:32

Flowers @SchrodingersKitty for you and your dh

squishedgrapes · 16/04/2020 19:33

I mostly lurk 9n these threads, but I've started working out again this week and it's getting better. But today I have a slight burning sensation in my chest, and feel pretty tired. It I have managed Weight training yesterday, and HIIT the day before. And have been alternating weights with HIIT type workouts, felt energetic a couple of days ago. So it does get easier.

Moodgie · 16/04/2020 19:35

@eyebrowsofinstagram I have had a few phone calls in between, the prolonged breathlessness was most likely what made them see me (I have actually been seen twice with about 10 days in between - first time after I took an antibiotic that made no difference, second time after being given an inhaler which made no difference either).

Moodgie · 16/04/2020 19:36

@SchrodingersKitty Wishing your DH a speedy recovery.

eyebrowsofinstagram · 16/04/2020 19:38

This article might be interesting www.newscientist.com/article/mg24632783-400-could-the-coronavirus-trigger-post-viral-fatigue-syndromes/

Thanks @Moodgie was just wondering if I should be pushing to be seen if I call in again- although fingers crossed I won't have to

TheWooisStrong · 16/04/2020 20:02

@sleepwhenidie my 5yo was ill for around 4 weeks. Her cough is completely gone and she had enough energy to run our daily walk today though.
I just nagged her to drink lots, gave her a vitamin supplements, and fed her as often as I could.

Tangledyarn · 16/04/2020 20:05

Yeah I've not been seen by anyone. I think really unless you are critically unwell and need admitting they don't want to see you, and are just expecting people to take a long time to recover, so its not great but am not surprised as really theres not a great deal that can be done I dont think. I think its slightly different if you have a covid hub nearby.

kevintheorangecarrot · 16/04/2020 20:24

@SchrodingersKitty sorry to hear about your hubby :( that's all you both need right now! :(

@Egghead68 my cough has stopped just now but my chest is quite sore :( and feels like burning.. again! I think it must've been from coughing earlier I couldn't help it it just kept coming and coming. I am wondering whether it's the pollen... rather than then this covid but never mind... so glad for this thread. You lovely people honestly keep me sane.

I feel bad that I don't contribute much as there's so many to go through and I need to try and not leave anyone out (I use my iPhone Mumsnet app so cant go back to the thread when I'm typing an answer!) but I promise I am reading all of your replies daily xx

Khaleesimother · 16/04/2020 20:28

Thank you @Meercatmama hope you're much better now. Are you able to sleep on a night?
@WorriesomeDad thank you, it's good to hear you're improving.
@Egghead68 oh are we, hope the fatigue goes quickly. How are your other symptoms?
I've ordered an oral Vitamin D spray to see whether it helps.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 16/04/2020 20:32

sleepwhenIdie so worrying for you Sad. I'd definitely phone the GP - just so they still know that they need to keep an eye on her.

SchrodingersKitty it's like some horrible farce! Wishing you and your DH a peaceful night (and a bit more luck: it's about time) Thanks

OP posts:
Egghead68 · 16/04/2020 20:33

@Khaleesimother they come and go but the fatigue is the worst thing at the moment. I’m taking vitamin D but I don’t know if it’s doing anything.

kevintheorangecarrot · 16/04/2020 20:35

@sleepwhenidie I would definitely get in contact with GP or ring 111 again. Bless her heart I hope you all feel better soon it's absolutely dreadful and even worse when we see our children poorly and in pain xx

pinkoneblueone · 16/04/2020 20:45

@SchrodingersKitty I am so so sorry your DH has had a fall. On a positive note He will probably get Treated quicker and be looked after as the hospitals seem to be quieter in non corona zones. I wish him a safe and speedy recovery. I hope his results come through soon 💖

Standrewsschool · 16/04/2020 21:09

Day 32 - been back at work for two days (not full days), felt tired afterwards. Also, developed dry throat. I think that was from talking all day, which I haven’t done for ages.

Today, day off so did some ironing, and then went shopping. The first time going in a supermarket for over four weeks. Things were normal when I last went, so it was a bit of an experience. Hopefully haven’t overdone it as felt tired for rest of day.

Trying to hold on to the fact that I tested negative last week, so hopefully won’t relapse, as I officially don’t have it.

Standrewsschool · 16/04/2020 21:09

That’s, don’t have it at the moment. Wasn’t tested when I felt more poorly.

Meercatmama · 16/04/2020 21:10

Khaleesimother
I have some nights now where I sleep quite well and other where I wake up and my back aches I find certain positions help such as being propped up in bed with pillows or turn to one side propped up. Its really strange as I have had some really vivid dreams as well. I am in bed by 9 to 9.30 and try to relax myself with my breathing by listening to an audio book and practice some breathing. I always have two or thre glasses of water at the bedside for when I wake up as I find I am thirsty and this helps

Khaleesimother · 16/04/2020 21:11

@Egghead68 ok, think I'm just grasping at straws!
@SchrodingersKitty wishing your DH a speedy recovery Flowers

pinkoneblueone · 16/04/2020 21:28

@Standrewsschool how far along do you think you are? Try to do little bits at a time rather than doing everything at once
