Boris’ latest message.

It’s good to see Boris is getting better. He said in his video message that he went through a critical 48 hours and it could have gone either way. Do you think the early intervention and oxygen helped save him? Would he likely have pulled through if he was treated like you or I and had to be turning blue or unable to finish his sentences before receiving hospital intervention?

I hope this has made him realise the value of the NHS

I suspect his realisation will be limited to lots of rabble-rousing expressions of support for the NHS, but nothing concrete by way of funding.

JudyCoolibar · 13/04/2020 18:17

Loving the rye smile. No doubt he'll be twheating something really corny, it'll be quite amaizing.

Peregrina · 13/04/2020 18:49

Some cereal three word pledges, no doubt!

NiteFlights · 13/04/2020 19:09

I can barley stand it.

Andante57 · 13/04/2020 21:42

Peregrina you are thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to have another reason to criticise Boris - and the royal family for that matter. How many times have you had a go at them all for leaving London?

Peregrina · 13/04/2020 21:52

Probably 5 times, but since they are figureheads, they should be setting an example, especially the younger ones. I would excuse the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh since they are both well into their nineties, and Charles also, is over 70 although I think he's taken care of his health.

Perhaps you don't think public figures should set an example?

Peregrina · 13/04/2020 21:55

But given that my MIL who is a contemporary of the Queen and D of E has had hospital appointments cancelled as a result of the corona virus, I think I have a right to feel somewhat annoyed.

vera99 · 13/04/2020 22:03

@TheWordWomanIsTaken I like it, she is still his much younger mistress isn't she, to be the mother of his 5th or 6th child. Let's call it like it is. But it's Boris isn't it staffing it all up the wall...newly ennobled as St Boris of Resurrection...

How I’d have loved to have seen your face on election night! Grin

Having that old fool Corbyn get landslided was truly a joy...

jasjas1973 · 13/04/2020 22:16

Oh come on Cends, whatever your politics, his morals are a disgrace.

6 kids from 4 different women an allegation of domestic abuse, its undefendable.

He is PM should be an example to the nation.

Sometimes it's as if people think politics is like football.

The main point shouldn't be beating the other side, but making the best possible choices for a country.

I suppose this type of attitude explains how the UK and US got their excellent leaders.

4 months ago. Might as well be 4 years for all the relevance it has now.

vera99 · 14/04/2020 16:05

Yes my face was a picture you can revel in past glories. It would seem there is some serious analysis of Boris's disease timeline. What we do know is that Boris doesn't have a good record for telling the truth.

countrygirl99 · 14/04/2020 16:25

Just because someone else might have made a balls up doesn't mean we can't criticise someone who has made a balls up. Perhaps we shouldn't criticise Harold Shipman because other people have been mass murderers too. Sound ridiculous? Of course it is and so is not criticising the government because another party might possibly have made the same mistakes.

Oops, looks like you got taken in by a conspiracy theory again. Have a look at his latest tweet:

@chrislockwd
I have deleted a tweet that cast doubt on whether Boris Johnson had been as seriously ill as reported. I withdraw my comment and apologise for the offence it has caused.

Who would have thought Corbyn fans would prove to be extraordinarily gullible? Grin

vera99 · 14/04/2020 16:40

He is politic enough to know that now is probably not the time for someone in a mainstream senior job at the Economist to cast aspersions of the perceived wisdom. However, others can speculate given the publically available 'facts' that have been proferred by No 10. My view FWIW - he was ill getting iller but not as ill as we were led to believe and he and the advisors around him will milk this for all it's worth. It's politics after all which is a dirty business at the best of times. And whatever else he is, he is no fool.

Oxyiz · 14/04/2020 16:42

Crikey. I'm not a labour voter or fan, never have been, but I think you could tone the weirdly gleeful put downs down for a bit. You're coming off as a horrible person which makes your opinions less easy to take seriously.

Oxyiz · 14/04/2020 16:43

Probably Boris is doing alright now but enjoying the last stretch of a break that he'll get for a while.

I wouldn't want to be PM for the world.

SquishySquirmy · 14/04/2020 16:44

FFS.

It doesn't matter

SquishySquirmy · 14/04/2020 16:47

So you’ve replaced your first conspiracy theory with a brand new one: he’s telling the truth, but has been silenced / chosen to silence himself despite the fact that’s he’s apparently sitting on the scoop of the fucking century! Grin

Can you see how utterly ludicrous that sounds?

Peregrina · 14/04/2020 17:01

I wouldn't want to be PM for the world.

He did though, that is the difference.

RishiSunakFanClub · 14/04/2020 17:16

I guess Labour voters need somewhere to let out all their hatred for the Tories and obvious disappointment in the failure and decimation of their own party and as this place is run by and full of left wing luvvies, it's the place to do it. I hope it makes you feel better but it changes nothing,
