Can people just keep out whether they like him or not. No one gives a fuck.

He is a human being with a serious illness and just like any other, needs compassion and support in these times not comments like

“ I hope he doesn’t get an NHS bed”

What the fuck is wrong with some of you people.

VaukaPinvhin · 05/04/2020 23:05

My friends consultant DH who still does some work in the nearby BUPA hospital had all his ops cancelled 2 weeks ago including cancer ops. They stopped admitting patients and have turned the entire facility over to CV patients now.

Bornfreebutincovidchains · 05/04/2020 23:06

Arrietry Jones

I thought the save re hospital ex wife, children..... Awful difficult situation.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 05/04/2020 23:08

Now we'll get all the well wishers hoping he gets better, after spending the last week slagging him off

While you’ve got posts like the above aceventura there’ll be posts clarifying whether he is liked or not

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 05/04/2020 23:08

But i agree with your last sentence...

Yester · 05/04/2020 23:08

His herd immunity and shaking hands with people wasn't very long ago.
I was ill then and begging my MP to test me and to lockdown. Although I wish him to get better I was so angry and scared then. Because they we're not listening to good advice from other countries to test and isolate.
I hope to god he is as lucky as I was: temp in the first week followed by severe cough/mild breathlessness in second week. If I was PM I would have been admitted to hospital as a precaution. Took me 4 weeks to get better and that is without the pressure of running the country. But a .part of me is still fucking angry that they fucked up so badly and this is showing why.

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 05/04/2020 23:09

But the whole of this government is a pantomime. It's a performance. I don't believe anything we're told to be true.

So unfortunately this latest bit of news just feels like the next bit of the story - that's meant to sway the public - and move us onto our next stage of compliance.
Oh not another idiot person who believes in ridiculous conspiracies.

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2020 23:10

I absolutely hope he is ok.

Leflic · 05/04/2020 23:10

It’s worry. He’s highish risk being male and overweight.

I wish people would stop berating him for not washing hands or other breeches of protocol. If your shaking hands with people who have had it ( and they were survivors so less risk surely ) I’m sure you’ll be washing your hands afterwards. It was much more likely to be an unknown source.
For all we know his girlfriend could have passed it on to him before they went into seperate isolation. She’ll have been to clinics or had healthcare professionals around being pregnant.

MabelMoo23 · 05/04/2020 23:12

All those saying he's gone to a private hospital, he won't have, it'll be somewhere like St Thomas's - a big, experienced central London hospital

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 05/04/2020 23:12

I'm not Tory but wish him all the best. I've seen some hateful things written about him on Twitter. So unnecessary.

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 05/04/2020 23:14

"I agree, and that’s why it’s annoying they haven’t been truthful about his illness"
There is nothing to indicate they (who?) haven't been truthful. It has been well publicised that around days 8-9 there can be a sudden deterioration.

I think in the daily reviews we are getting a lot of honesty from the Govt which is refreshing to hear.

GADDay · 05/04/2020 23:14

A man is ill. He has a family who must be worried about him.

It's a simplistic view, but there are times when it's ok just say 'get well soon', without prefacing the sentiment with opinion/political views.

What happened to the old "don't kick somebody when they are down?" If the worst happens...

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 05/04/2020 23:15

There's no way this is routine. Downing Street would have wanted to avoid this if at all possible to avoid spooking the nation.

MrsFezziwig · 05/04/2020 23:18

While the tests could technically be done at home

If they include a CT scan that certainly couldn’t be done at home.

PomBearsyummy · 05/04/2020 23:18

"There's no way this is routine. Downing Street would have wanted to avoid this if at all possible to avoid spooking the nation."

Bollocks. If the PMs doctor advises he gets additional medical screeing you dont ignore them through fear of "spooking the nation".

Aesopfable · 05/04/2020 23:18

My friends consultant DH who still does some work in the nearby BUPA hospital had all his ops cancelled 2 weeks ago including cancer ops. They stopped admitting patients and have turned the entire facility over to CV patients now.

The government has bought up nearly all private beds for this; either Covid patients or other patients displaced from nhs hospitals by Covid patients.

Bunnyfuller · 05/04/2020 23:18

Oh the irony

Jenasaurus · 05/04/2020 23:20

I had no idea Boris was a smoker. Hope he gets better soon

HannahStern · 05/04/2020 23:20

I agree, Myhip. There is no way that this is routine. Downing Street would have wanted to avoid this at all costs.

Amboseli · 05/04/2020 23:24

I hope he is in an NHS hospital being looked after by healthcare professionals without any or inadequate PPE so he can see first hand the situation he and his government has put NHS staff in.

And if he is intensive care that he is being locked after not on a one to one basis as is the usual case but now due to lack of testing and many staff self isolating and lack of PPE, the staff are so overstretched that there is one nurse per 6 intensive care beds.

So exactly the same conditions that any of us might find ourselves in if admitted to hospital at this point in time.

LarkDescending · 05/04/2020 23:24

Everybody will have wanted to avoid this. Not least a busy central London hospital which will have had to find a suitably secure space to accommodate him when they have quite enough going on.

If he had just needed a CT/X-ray they could have got him from Downing St to St Thomas’ under police escort in under 5 minutes and back to Downing St just as fast afterwards. There must be much more concern given that arrangements have been made for him to be admitted overnight.

Peregrina · 05/04/2020 23:26

Is he a smoker?
I thought he liked a drink, so might well have started to damage his liver.

UYScuti · 05/04/2020 23:26

As said by previous poster he would appear to be somewhat of a high-risk person ☹️
I really hope he pulls through, come on Boris, come on Boris
💙🙏💙

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 05/04/2020 23:26

I really hope he stops trying to carry on working now. He needs to rest.
