What stupidity will Sunday bring?

It's forecast to be sunny and warm over most of the UK on Sunday. Anyone else dreading what some people will decide to do?

Oh yes. I’m sure the kids will be out playing on the road around here with each other, and plenty of groups going to the beach for their “exercise” calling in at Tesco and The Range for non essentials.

Eggcited · 03/04/2020 15:52

I'm expecting picnics on the park, whilst the kids play football or on the play equipment.

People traveling to the beach / tourist areas.

BBQs with friends / extended family.

Shopping trips / wandering around town.

Pretty much the same things we saw a few weeks back.

Nquartz · 03/04/2020 15:53

Snowdon again probably!

EffOrf · 03/04/2020 15:54

We are planning on doing some painting, I'm sure many more will be doing the same

PristineCondition · 03/04/2020 15:54

Im hoping the horrific death tally will keep them in.
I work in a Local shop on my estate and the numbers have steadied but the amount of young ones nipping in for a can ifcoke or a bar of chocolate is still mad!

Biggest drop is the elderly, most are frightened to leave their front doors so hopefully they will stay away still

HairyFloppins · 03/04/2020 15:54

Loads of idiots out and about I would predict.

Gardens full of extended families. 80 year old granny with little children etc.

Oh well. Be closer to the 60-80% herd immunity. Better get digging those graves.

EffOrf · 03/04/2020 15:57

What are people planning to do themselves.

Nanalisa60 · 03/04/2020 15:57

Well if it does go all Pete Tong at the weekend, we will all be in big Wahala come Monday afternoon!!

caz114 · 03/04/2020 15:59

Surely we will all we watching the Queen! Wink

Muchtoomuchtodo · 03/04/2020 16:02

I really hope that the message has got through to everyone by now about how important it is for us all to do the right thing.

I’m planning to do an online bootcamp hopefully with one or both of the dc on Saturday morning.

Then we might do some baking, go for a walk (to the beach but it’s only 5 minutes away) and have a bbq in the garden for tea (using charcoal from the garage and sausages form the freezer).

I’d like to watch the West End Joseph stage show on Saturday night but not sure if I’ll be able to get control of the tv for that!

Sunday will be a lie in. Maybe an online yoga class. Another walk and a roast dinner.

StealthPolarBear · 03/04/2020 16:04

People will dash back from their day at the beach to hear the Queen tell them to stay at home.
I hope we'll have a barbecue

StealthPolarBear · 03/04/2020 16:05

That looked like a dig at you much, sorty

Connie222 · 03/04/2020 16:06

I don’t have high hopes. People are getting bored and complacent and many have the “it will never happen to me” mentality.

I’m sure there will be lots of people not giving a shit and just wanting to please themselves on a sunny weekend. Never underestimate the will of an idiot.

Anotheruser02 · 03/04/2020 16:12

My ds is going to his dad's tomorrow, my heart sank when I saw the forecast his dad is a selfish terd and I'm in no doubt they'll be out.

Feedingthebirds1 · 03/04/2020 17:12

What are people planning to do themselves.

Blitzing the garden, just me and DP. I suspect our neighbours will be among those ignoring the rules. I posted earlier this week that one day they had nine cars in the drive and only two of them were theirs.

OP posts:
Titsywoo · 03/04/2020 17:28

I'm expecting lots of people out and about and having friends over for BBQs.

I'll be in my garden building some raised beds, trying to get the lights up that we got in Jan (festoon lights to go around the perimeter of the garden) and the DC can help. DD is planning on painting a mural on a bit of the garden wall too.

Done shopping today so no need to go out at all really. I won't be bothering with daily exercise as I know it will be too busy and being in the garden is all the fresh air we need.

Looking forward to some warmth and sunshine!

LegoBloodyHurts · 03/04/2020 17:34

If your predictions are correct (and I sadly think they are) there may well be an even bigger rise in cases again in 2 weeks off the back off stupidity Sad

FelineUK · 03/04/2020 17:35

Who's concerned about Sunday... what about the Easter break?! Are we still going to see motorways busy as people travel to the coast? Hmm, have to wait and see.

I think today has been 'noisier' than normal with cars up and down the road, kids playing outside..

Wallabyone · 03/04/2020 17:40

I might be stupid/naive, but surely people's attitudes have adjusted now? I hope that fewer will go anywhere, and understand that it should be the same as the last 14 or so days have been, albeit with nicer weather. We are planning to have our lunch on the bbq and out in the garden, just the five of us. Perhaps they need to crank up the campaign if there are still people behaving as before??

Eggcited · 03/04/2020 17:50

I can see a park from my house, unfortunately large gatherings and people stopping for a chat are still a daily occurrence.

Timebean · 03/04/2020 17:54

That must be infuriating to see @Eggcited !

Alicatz66 · 03/04/2020 17:57

I won't be watching the queen ... but I will not be going further than a daily stroll round the block and my own garden

Feedingthebirds1 · 03/04/2020 17:58

Who's concerned about Sunday... what about the Easter break?!

I'm bothered about Sunday because it comes first and because I've seen the weather forecast. BoJo has reiterated the message to stick to the rules: twitter.com/BorisJohnson/status/1246042407973662721

We'll know whether to worry about Easter after we see how people behave on Sunday. Lots of tourist spots urging people to stay away this weekend.

Things are already ramping up on the roads with traffic similar to normal.
As someone who is very likely to have to work every day until this is over - please just stay in side.

Bunnylady54 · 03/04/2020 18:02

I really really don’t get it! You can’t exactly escape from the news & the statistics. So many deaths coming or already happened that could have been prevented. It’s not like it’s forever but it will go on longer if people keep doing what they feel like 😥😡
