What stupidity will Sunday bring?

It's forecast to be sunny and warm over most of the UK on Sunday. Anyone else dreading what some people will decide to do?

I work in Defence - not at all high powered, just round the edges.
If you are thinking of going out on Sunday, or having friends round, or relaxing the rules...3,000 Reservists have been mobilised this week. Mostly they will be drivers, engineers, logisticians and medical.
Mostly they are building temporary hospitals for the dying, and temporary morgues for the dead.
They have been called away from their day jobs and their families, to deal with dickheads like you who don’t listen to advice. Some of them will die doing it.
We are stockpiling body bags in anticipation of what is to come
FFS! Stay the fuck at home and just pray you don’t become one of the many thousands of deaths yet to come.
Sorry if this sounds dramatic. It’s been a long week....

Oblomov20 · 03/04/2020 18:46

Predicting chaos. So sad!

PumpkinPie2016 · 03/04/2020 18:47

Round here, people do seem to be taking it seriously. Roads are dead, shops are quiet. Yes, there are queues to go into stores sometimes but people are being sensible and the queues don't seem too bad. I went to lidl last week and I was one of only 6 people in the queue.

We will be where we should be, at home. Hoping to enjoy our garden and tidy up the house a bit! For various reasons, it's been a hectic few weeks so need to get on top of things.

In the week, I am working from home and doing activities with DS. Certainly no unnecessary trips out happening here.

namechangemania · 03/04/2020 18:47

I’ve worked all week and working overtime tomorrow so I’m planning to do nothing but watch TV/read/play games on Sunday because I’m shattered.

Genopy · 03/04/2020 18:48

People near me are not taking it seriously at all. The parks and beach will be full.... I despair.

Thighmageddon · 03/04/2020 18:53

We'll be looking at the seven million weeds that are threatening to take over our garden before they start marching in to our house in a triffid like manner.

I think my two lots of dick neighbours who are flouting the guidelines will be getting together.

Yeah thanks for that you cocks, you just bring on the further restrictions with lockdown just so you can have a bit of frendz time with each other 🙄

Notpanickingjustyet · 03/04/2020 18:57

FFS! Stay the fuck at home and just pray you don’t become one of the many thousands of deaths yet to come.

I literally do and you are not being dramatic.
I can't even bring myself to think about the future in case I don't have one, but trying to enjoy each day. It's a weird scenario!

longearedbat · 03/04/2020 18:59

@Londongirl88888 eh? Have I misunderstood you? It's not a bank holiday today.

Krisskrosskiss · 03/04/2020 18:59

I hate this because I've been avoiding going outside at the weekends even for a short walk because there are so many people about here (we dont have a garden)... but my husbands days off this week include sunday (he works 13hr days is a nurse) so we probably will have to go out for exercise on sunday as hes too tired to go out after any of his shifts and I darent take the kids out on my own atm due to their ages... I'm expecting to spend the entire time terrified. I wish everyone was taking it seriously.... some people dont even bother to move away from you or look pissed off if you move away from them...

TheGreatWave · 03/04/2020 19:00

We are demolishing a shed tomorrow, Sunday more gardening I guess.

I really want to go the very short distance to the coast, but I know I can't. I am still sad about it though. Under normal circumstances we probably would have gone over tomorrow.

U2HasTheEdge · 03/04/2020 19:04

I think the majority of people are getting the message.

It will only be 17C here, nice but not that nice. I expect more people will be in their gardens, which is acceptable.

TiddyTid · 03/04/2020 19:04

Well in Suffolk, police are stopping second home owners travelling up and turning them around and sending them home.

Unfortunately they can't get all of them and our shops, towns and places for locals to escape are again, too busy, and with people bringing disease with them to places with less infrastructure to cope.

Selfish, selfish bastards. It's not like they are unaware of what they're doing. I will not be surprised if after this weekend we will be on full lockdown because some do not care about the NHS and saving lives.

Livingthecovidaloca · 03/04/2020 19:06

@Nanalisa60 - such a long time since I’ve heard wahalla!

GemmaTellerMorrow · 03/04/2020 19:11

I live on the coast and usually walk five miles a day to the beach and back. It has been pretty quiet to be fair, but the police are visibly out every day and they are definitely watching who is going about.

If anyone is still thinking of coming here - everything is closed. You won't be able to buy a bag of chips or doughnuts or a stick of rock. The arcades are closed, you'll be lucky to find a loo open.

Lookingforwardtomyeastereggs · 03/04/2020 19:12

I predict that people will be out acting like idiots, doing all the wrong things.

Personally, I'll be doing what I've been doing all week, which is pottering around the house, go in my own garden, possibly go for a walk. In fact I might avoid the walk if it's going to be busy out.

It's only going to be 18 degrees, hardly a heatwaves, no good reason for people to lose their minds.

I can't really understand why the government haven't spelt it out to people ahead of Easter, that they are not to attempt to go on holiday or off to other towns or beaches (unless you're very local to a beach).

catnidge · 03/04/2020 19:12

We are going to have a household tea party in the garden.
One of our neighbours had family/friends over today. Yes, neighbour, we notice the massive car with the personalised number plate even it you park in a slightly different spot. Hmm
There have been more cars on the roads here the past few days.
Really hoping people do stay at home...

slartibarti · 03/04/2020 19:18

Its easy to be judgy when you've got a garden to have a barbecue in, sunbathe etc.
Try to imagine what lockdown on the first warm sunny day of spring might be like for those families with young children living in cities with no outside space.

BestOption · 03/04/2020 19:19

@dementedma. Thank you for what you’re doing & for your post. 💐

The highlight of my weekend is going to be getting lots of washing dried on Sunday.

I’m living alone - SO is at his house - (a decision we made to benefit his DS so he can easily move between his parents). I don’t even have a garden, so the best I’m going to be able to do is have the door open to let the warm sunny air in. And if fuckwits abuse the ‘right to exercise’ this weekend I won’t even be able to go out for my early morning walks. I’ll support any stricter lock downs, but I’ll be fucked if that idiots have made it necessary.

Troels · 03/04/2020 19:23

It's already started here (North Wales)
Facebook is lit up with posts of people complaining that loads of caravans and cars loaded with kids and bikes are arriving. God knows where they are heading, all campgrounds were orded to close.
They'll be climbing over gates into fields to camp amoung the sheep in the middle of lambing season.
I guess you can't fix stupid.

Paddingtonthebear · 03/04/2020 19:25

I was furloughed two weeks ago so have been at home with DD ever since. We have been out for one dog walk per day for 30-40 mins maximum.

I don’t see how Easter is going to be any different or how it’s relevant. Every day is the same. We will be staying in every day as we have been doing. I don’t understand why anyone would think just because it’s school holidays or whatever make any difference to daily life right now.

BestOption · 03/04/2020 19:26

@slartibarti

No, it’s easy to be judge when people aren’t sticking to the rules.

I agree it’s much harder on those with no garden (I’m one of them!) but the virus doesn’t care about that, so as hard as it is, it just needs to be done.

JUdging twats that don’t stay home is entirely reasonable.

Parker231 · 03/04/2020 19:26

'This is an instruction': Hancock demands public stay inside despite sunny weekend

Hopefully the police will be out issuing fines to the idiots who think they can be an exception.

Crazycactuslady · 03/04/2020 19:31

We'll be planting veg in the allotment (literally opposite my front door on our private land) and tidying the greenhouse / potting stuff up. We will be going nowhere.

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and only exercise at first light when most normal people are still asleep or on my turbo trainer.

Anyway, even if I did fancy going anywhere, close friend has scared the living shit out of me - he works on the ambulances. Apparently on arrival, people are categorised in two outcomes: eligible for ventilation or not. Anyone over 50, ill or with a medical condition (even non life limiting) is very, very unlikely to be considered. Another friend who is a consultant has already told me they are taking people off of ventilation well before they ever have before if another patient has a slightly higher chance of survival. Those people will die alone.

Still not sure why so many people still don't get it - including people I know who I have been incredibly fucking blunt with, but that's a whole new thread.

AmelieTaylor · 03/04/2020 19:33

@Parker231 shame he then spoilt it by saying a) it’s ok to drive to places to exercise AND that the police are still working on co operation basis.🙄😖🤬🥺

Asuitablecat · 03/04/2020 19:36

Yep. Caravans are already coming into n.wales. I live 20 mins away from mountains/sea. If I can cope without needi g to visit, pretty sure non residents can. There are 2 main routes into n wales. I get stuck every friday from march- September. Pretty sure police can be on.them.
