It rained constantly here too. Our little patch of garden flooded and still feels boggy underfoot!

I didn’t wear a big winter coat at all - just a raincoat.

I’m struggling today as my son is hard work. He’s 4 and really lashing out. He needs a lot of exercise and that’s hard with lockdown. Thanks for posting your positives.

Millie2013 · 18/04/2020 17:15

@Bunnyflop which med is it? It’s hard when you can see the benefit of something but it also has adverse effects

An ongoing thread is a lovely idea ❤️

Bunnyflop · 18/04/2020 17:17

@millie2013 it’s pregabalin. Great for chilling your brain out, not so good on the stomach.

Dk20 · 18/04/2020 17:23

Hi all, late to the party here but can I join your thread please?

Just came onto the coronavirus board wondering if I'm the only one that's having days where they seem to really drag and you just cant wait to go to bed again.

I had PND late 2019 early 2020 and was doing really well after returning to work, been WFH now long hours for the last 5 weeks, with my 6 year old and 10month old here to look after.

I guess I just need a bit of positivity right now.

Noooblerooble · 18/04/2020 17:29

Of course, welcome Dk20

Blerg that sounds tough. Are you doing things like the Joe Wickes workout? Am I getting the name right?

I wanted to post this article. It's a bit of a weird one as it's very focused on how we must lockdown and the tone seems to be 'and we will never get out if it' whilst simultaneously reporting in the fact work on a vaccine is coming along much faster than anticipated. There is one that seems to have worked in animal trials and is now being tested on humans. That's huge! And they are preparing to make it on a massive scale so if it's effective it can be rolled out quickly.

Checking in again to let you all know our girl’s out of isolation. She says it’s weird seeing other people after a week of solitary. She’s not well enough to go back to work and we’re really hoping she’s going to have a few days more. She feels really guilty about leaving her team a nurse down.

Other than that, hardly any news. Which is probably a good thing.

Spudlet · 18/04/2020 17:47

Hi all, glad there have been some good days today. Pleased there seems to be some cautiously positive news as well.

I’m typing in bed because I’ve had a migraine (Sad) - buuuut the trigger was going for a run and knocking nearly two minutes off my previous 5k PB - and getting a sub-30 minute 5k for the first time! So I’ll take the headache for that result Grin Just about to get up and have a quick shower before dinner as it’s mostly gone - I got some pills and water down as soon as the aura started so it wasn’t a dreadful one. I’ve also made another laundry bag this morning and hoping I can speed up production if I am a bit more systematic in how I approach them. Will perhaps get the machine out again tomorrow.

Keep on keeping on everyone - we can do this 👍

tobee · 18/04/2020 18:14

Glad to hear that about your dd Alsohuman and thanks for posting the update!

Sorry to hear about your migraine Spudlet and your fibromyalgia meds side effects Bunnyflop.

Good on you for the time though Spudlet. Migraine auras are bizarre aren't they?

Just catching up on back to back episodes of an old Bake Off here (on Food Network) and it's making me crave cake and biccies.

Mine was particular unusual @tobee today as DS was watching Sarah and Duck and I find mine tend to flash in colours from the environment when I shut my eyes... psychedelic stuff ShockGrin

Better now, just got that slightly spacey feeling that will probably last until at least tomorrow. Fortunately DH is a migraine aficionado as his mum suffered too, so he knows I need to be looked after a bit. He’s a good’un.

Great news about your DD @Alsohuman! I hope she takes a few days more - I’m sure she’d tell one of her patients to give their body time to recover properly and she needs to be firing on all cylinders to be of use to her colleagues (am used to giving my DM that same lecture, can you tell?). But great that she’s feeling better.

BooseysMom · 18/04/2020 19:41

@StCharlotte
Just catching up on thread and wanted to say hope your DH is ok now? What a scare you had bless you!

@Alsohuman... great to hear your DD is recovering

I've got a bad headache again today. Been like this a few days now. Made the mistake of looking at scary news again. What they're saying about the fact that sooner or later everyone will get the virus and the government are only locking us down to keep hospital admissions down. That really worries me Hmm

UpOnDown · 18/04/2020 20:23

Sorry you've got a bad headache @BooseysMom . I hope you feel better soon. I hope you continue to feel better @Spudlet I like bakeoff too @tobee . @Alsohuman.that''s good to hear.

ScarlettDarling · 18/04/2020 20:36

@Jrobhatch29 thanks for those graphs, they're really reassuring. Could you please let me know where they're from? I'd like to send a link to my mum who is avoiding all news for her own mental health, but likes me to send her some positive bits!

Benji13 · 18/04/2020 20:39

@moreginplease @Bunnyflop I would definitely welcome a positive mental health thread when this is all over. I’ve found this thread a godsend and love hearing from you all. We are all hanging in there and supporting each other which is lovely 😊

Bunnyflop · 18/04/2020 21:02

@BooseysMom i don’t believe that. Even a hundred years ago with the Spanish flu the whole world didn’t get it!

PS please don’t mention awful things that are in the news like that as a lot of us on here are purposely avoiding the scaremongering for our mental health.

BooseysMom · 18/04/2020 21:11

@UpOnDown.. Thank youSmile

Millie2013 · 18/04/2020 21:27

@Bunnyflop ahh. In my humble opinion, better to look after your mental wellbeing right now 😘 Your weight will correct itself in time

Bunnyflop · 18/04/2020 21:55

@millie2013 wise words Smile

PS Henry says evening everybody. He made a mess and is now lying among the debris.

IdrisElbasLeftTesticle · 18/04/2020 21:58

I love this thread. I know I don’t post often but I refresh it several times a day and read everyone’s updates.

I’ve had a pretty awful day. My cousin who has terminal cancer, and lives thousands of miles away, is coming to the end. We were supposed to have been visiting him the past few weeks, which obviously couldn’t happen. One of his daughters is also stuck in another country and can’t get to see him.

I lost my mum a few months ago, also to cancer, and it all feels like grief on top of grief on top of grief. I have been crying For weeks now and I just can’t stop.

DianneWhatcock · 18/04/2020 22:18

@IdrisElbasLeftTesticle I honestly don't know what to say to all that tbh but my heart goes out to you. sending virtual hugs ☹️☹️

@BooseysMom I'm Obvs no expert but I haven't read anything to suggest that, (I only stick to bbc news once a day though) but I'd imagine it's unlikely that "everyone" will get it.

Bunnyflop · 18/04/2020 22:30

@idriselbaslefttesticle I’m so so sorry Sad

Millie2013 · 19/04/2020 06:38

@IdrisElbasLeftTesticle I’m so sorry, that’s so much sadness in such a short time, look after yourself, crying non stop is exhausting, although completely understandable. Do you have some support in real life?

Millie2013 · 19/04/2020 06:44

DD woke up st 5am, crying, but couldn’t articulate what was wrong, turns out her tooth was v v v wobbly and fell out about 20 min later. We had cuddles and looked at old photos, but I’m sooooo tired 💤 Nap latee, I think!

Nothing much else planned for today except soup making and delivery to friend who has MND (she’s limited as to what she can eat now). I’ll have a catch up with her from the front garden

I had a lovely long FaceTime catch up with my friend last night. Her tortoise kept interrupting 😂 Lockdown video chats have also involved a bearded dragon, rabbits, dogs and cats thus far 😂

Spudlet · 19/04/2020 07:10

@IdrisElbasLeftTesticle I’m so sorry, that is a terrible situation. Be gentle with yourself. Flowers
