Honestly, I have not been out now for over 2 weeks with my DC. We took them for a drive today round our village for 2 minutes out the house.... people were still out chatting to each other and letting there DC play on the parks!!!

WTF is wrong with people? Its not just about the Fing virus anymore! Don't you all get that....

People are having cancer investigations AND treatments stopped! And this will carry on for as long as this virus is here! People are going to DIE from cancer and other illness' because people are to SELFISH to stay in doors!!

My poor DM will more than likely lose her best friend of 50 years to cancer as her op has been cancelled! And then to top it of she probably won't even be allowed at her funeral if it comes to it...
But no one gives a shit. As long as they can get out and do what ever it is they want to do!!

Selfish tw*ts.

@WorraLiberty My DD is ASD, taking her for a 'run round the park' is dragging her away from every individual she see's and runs of to so she can say 'Hello to her best friends'

Im sure I risked spreading the virus going up the road (literally 0.5 miles up a straight road) were my DH was ALREADY going like the 15+ people in the park did.

MN logic has always been GREAT, just wanted to get a message out their for all the people now dieing of cancer especially since the government did say cancer treatment will not be stopped!

but you know who gives a shit if you can all have a good old bitch hey👍🏻

We are going to move this to the coronavirus thread topic thread now.

Thefaceofboe · 01/04/2020 22:45

@TTTs but you’re the one having a bitch on here? My brother got pulled taking his dog to the vet on Monday (essential!) and the policeman said to him it’s not necessarily about spreading the virus but going out in your car causes a chance of crashing which is more strain on the NHS. Which is why they’re saying don’t drive to walk your dog etc

Goingunderground2 · 01/04/2020 22:45

Op did you think about the strain your family could of put on the system had you had a car accident? Police, paramedics, tow truck! Double standards

justasking111 · 01/04/2020 22:46

My neighbour has cancer they were upbeat about it publicly until the covid hit. I saw them this evening his wife looks broken. The fear that a lovely man in the prime of his life may be taken away because of this awful disease leaving family who adore him behind.

twinkle2306 · 01/04/2020 22:47

@TTTs shouldn't moan about people doing things that you are also doing then. Police have made it very clear that people should not be going out in cars because they are bored. If you had broken down which can happen in 0.5 miles then you'd be at risk, if someone had gone into the back at you you'd be at risk. Distance doesn't indicate safety.
Couldn't you have just done a thread on the fact cancer patients aren't getting care?
Yes it's terrible, stay home and stay safe!

AutumnRose1 · 01/04/2020 22:48

“ Cancer ops and treatments such as chemo are still most definitely happening. ”

No. Definitely cancelled and a friend on dialysis has been told he might have to have his treatment reduced which will add strain to his heart.

There will be many deaths due to the focus on corona.

TTTs · 01/04/2020 22:48

@Thefaceofboe I am bitching about people standing round chatting letting their DC play together.... who are also most likely people then going to see family!

OP posts:
APatchyTomCat · 01/04/2020 22:49

Most of those Other People will have similar excuses to yours OP.

Maybe start a new thread about the risk to cancer patients without that aspect.

Thefaceofboe · 01/04/2020 22:49

@TTTs fair enough, it’s not acceptable. But neither is going out in your car for no reason.

WorraLiberty · 01/04/2020 22:49

@WorraLiberty My DD is ASD, taking her for a 'run round the park' is dragging her away from every individual she see's and runs of to so she can say 'Hello to her best friends'

And....there's the drip feed Hmm

By the way she has ASD. She isn't an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

TTTs · 01/04/2020 22:49

@Goingunderground2 Very unlikely everyone who lives in the village were to busy chatting at the park to be in their cars!!

Frequency · 01/04/2020 22:50

You have no idea why people were outside. Plus, they are allowed, as pointed out previously.

I go out daily. I go to work, as per government instructions. I go food shopping, more frequently than I'd like since I can't get my usual delivery slot and don't drive and I walk the dog.

My eldest is at her boyfriend's tonight. Do you know why? Because this last week she has gone from not self-harming in months to daily self-harm and talks of which type of suicide is quicker and less painful. We can't get a face to face appointment with her mental health worker and her anxiety prevents her from talking on the phone. I measured the risk to her mental health against the risk to her physical health and the health of others as is my right as her parent.

Goingunderground2 · 01/04/2020 22:51

Ridiculous

Dumbie · 01/04/2020 22:53

Your trip was unnecessary?
If you'd been unlucky and had a car accident then you'd have taken up more resources in the hospital. Isn't that part of the reason they don't want people travelling to places where you can exercise? I'd bloody love a change in scenary.

I'm not saying what others are doing is right BTW. All very valid points

Imissthebeach · 01/04/2020 22:53

@TTTs I came here to agree with you & I did. I ignored the hypocrisy and posted anyway but I regret posting now because you are quite rude.

Yes it’s hard times for everyone. But if you can’t be nice then be quiet

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 01/04/2020 22:55

We took them for a drive today round our village for 2 minutes out the house....

This is the 'non essential' travel we've been told not to do. RTAs tie up police/NHS time. What makes you better than those people?

Stop matyring yourself by not taking the exercise which you are allowed to take, and stop doing non essential journeys in your car.

TTTs · 01/04/2020 22:55

@Frequency I put my fucking hands up to you 👏🏻 because that is heartbreaking and I pray that your DD gets peace with seeing her bf!

But If the idiots I am talking about would do their 'daily 1 hour exercise' instead of standing at the park with their mates and DC the virus would be gone in a few weeks and we could all go out and socialise, people could see their mental health workers, have their cancer taken away and at some stage we can all get back to normal.

Imissthebeach · 01/04/2020 22:55

I agree about “the dying but not from covid” bit - I just wanted to make that clear

MarthasGinYard · 01/04/2020 22:57

FGS

Take your dc child out for a walk.

Why is she getting no one excersise

iolaus · 01/04/2020 22:58

I have to say I rang the GP yesterday as my son had a skin infection that was close to his eye.

Rang the GP, was told a GP would ring me back - they did so about 20 minutes later, after speaking to me she asked if she could see it over videolink - so text me a link (she said as long as phone was since about 2005 it should open without download - which it did). After seeing it she prescribed antibiotics which we could pick up less than 2 hours later (and in fairness that 2 hours included the hour the pharmacy were shut for lunch) - it was actually far easier than norma to speak to one

MarthasGinYard · 01/04/2020 22:58

Could you not all have walked it was only a mile round trip?

Tootletum · 01/04/2020 23:00

I have seen zero transgressions. I live in an area with a high number of cases, so I think it's quite self policing...sadly.

londonrach · 01/04/2020 23:00

Im shocked op do a non essential trip in a car. My dd is three and totally understands why cant go out. No way take her in a car. If we go out it be for a walk around the block.

e1y1 · 01/04/2020 23:00

Cancer ops and treatments such as chemo are still most definitely happening. It's just elective surgery that's stopping

My husband is a cancer doc. Many of his patients have had their treatment postponed. It’s beyond awful

Yep my DM has had hers suspended last week - for 3 months, with the advice of definitely coming back to another operation.
