Honestly, I have not been out now for over 2 weeks with my DC. We took them for a drive today round our village for 2 minutes out the house.... people were still out chatting to each other and letting there DC play on the parks!!!

WTF is wrong with people? Its not just about the Fing virus anymore! Don't you all get that....

People are having cancer investigations AND treatments stopped! And this will carry on for as long as this virus is here! People are going to DIE from cancer and other illness' because people are to SELFISH to stay in doors!!

My poor DM will more than likely lose her best friend of 50 years to cancer as her op has been cancelled! And then to top it of she probably won't even be allowed at her funeral if it comes to it...
But no one gives a shit. As long as they can get out and do what ever it is they want to do!!

Selfish tw*ts.

@TTTs you should not be taking children out shopping unless you have no other childcare available. If DH went to shops DC should not have gone with him, simply no need. You justify as DC was upset they couldn't go out. Therefore put this logic to those you saw when out they could be in the same position as you 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh ffs do we really need another one of these threads

TTTs · 01/04/2020 22:26

@chocolatesaltyballs22 My DM's friends surgery was not elective, she found out about the cancer and was told she needed the breast removing, she then had to see a psychologist before they could go ahead with it but during the wait this has all happened and they have now had to cancel it for 12 weeks because she would need to go to the ICU!

I don't know if I should laugh or cry at this.

Imissthebeach · 01/04/2020 22:29

Do both. I know I am!! God I fancy an Easter egg

Ohtherewearethen · 01/04/2020 22:29

As annoying as it is, you are one of those families who haven't followed guidelines, you just don't see it as everybody has a reason for thinking the guidelines don't apply to them, that they are a special case. Your whole family went out in the car. If you'd have broken down or had an accident, what then? Your reasoning for breaking the guidelines is probably the same as the other familes' - the kids were bored and wanted to go out. How are you any different?

TTTs · 01/04/2020 22:30

@twinkle2306 Sorry did I not make it obvious she did not get out of the car?

APatchyTomCat · 01/04/2020 22:30

They were not following the guidelines, in much the same way as YOU were not following the guidelines.

That's the problem, we all think that our actions will have little impact, and it's all those Other People that are unreasonable. Same as when we go to the supermarkets at Xmas, and complain about all the Other People going shopping crazy.

PineappleDanish · 01/04/2020 22:31

We know. Everyone knows. There are public info films every 5 minutes on tv. Constant news.

We really dint need another reminder from a ransomer in Mumsnet.

And besides, you don't have to stay at home and not leave, ever. Exercise outside is fine.

lokoho · 01/04/2020 22:31

Yes the fact you can't get inhalers any more is a real problem. Not sure why it's not being covered in the news tbh. Surely this will substantially contribute to deaths in a few weeks.

I can't get my inhaler refilled. I know I'm not the only one.

SunnyCoco · 01/04/2020 22:32

Yeh the judgment and hypocrisy on some of these threads is amazing!

I went out for a jolly drive with the family today because it was so important, but all these other people out and about are clearly just taking the piss.
I went out for a walk in the park because it was so important, but all these other people exercising are clearly just taking the piss.
I went to the supermarket because it was so important but all these other people shopping are clearly just taking the piss.

FFS!

twinkle2306 · 01/04/2020 22:33

@TTTs so you went out too? So you all went out for a car ride when we're being told not too just because DC got upset? Once again have you considered these people may be in the same position as you but are going for their allowed daily exercise? You are no better than anyone else.
If you're going to loan at least practice what you preach

Frage · 01/04/2020 22:35

I'm staying at home, OP, but I'm mightily sick of it.

I agree with you that people will die, and not of CV. However, some people will take their own lives because they can't live with the isolation. Some will find the judging and hectoring intolerable.

I suggest you take a deep breath and find a bit of kindness.

Imissthebeach · 01/04/2020 22:35

It is so shocking @lokoho. Hope you’ll be ok

EvilTwins · 01/04/2020 22:35

TTTs Sorry did I not make it obvious she did not get out of the car?

But if there had been an accident...?

You’re just as bad as the people you’re moaning about!

WorraLiberty · 01/04/2020 22:37

Take the poor kid for a run around the park, then she won't be so desperate to go out for a car ride.

Even prisoners are allowed exercise.

Destroyer · 01/04/2020 22:37

There you go, OP

BilboBercow · 01/04/2020 22:39

Person on non essential trip means about people doing non essential things.
Take your dd out to exercise and stop worrying about other people.

BilboBercow · 01/04/2020 22:39

moans

OhClover · 01/04/2020 22:41

Cancer ops and treatments such as chemo are still most definitely happening. It's just elective surgery that's stopping

My husband is a cancer doc. Many of his patients have had their treatment postponed. It’s beyond awful.

Thefaceofboe · 01/04/2020 22:41

But you went out in the car for non essential travel? Hmm

lokoho · 01/04/2020 22:42

You too imissthebeach!

TiredofSM · 01/04/2020 22:42

I haven’t taken DD out for 2 weeks.
I’m too scared she’ll get the virus.
Or I will and give it to her.
If rather she was a bit bored at home then exposed to that risk.
We go out in the garden twice daily. She doesn’t ask to go out because I’ve explained why we can’t.
Oh and all of you going out wasn’t necessary or essential and was therefore ‘breaking the rules’.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 01/04/2020 22:43

I've been getting ds 6 to go on a 40 min walk with me it's better than nothing and hes burning some energy
