181 deaths?

Eeyoresstickhouse · 27/03/2020 14:21

182 in the uk have died. It is ramping up now. Sad

picklemewalnuts · 27/03/2020 14:21

This is the one and a half day's number, isn't it? To be averaged out with yesterday's?

Horehound · 27/03/2020 14:23

No. The numbers yesterday were for a day and a half. Today's numbers I think are from 5om the day before to 5pm yesterday?

namechangemania · 27/03/2020 14:23

picklemewalnuts I think this is the first 24 hour period since they changed the times

defthand · 27/03/2020 14:24

+2921 new cases
+181 new deaths
+8911 new tests

defthand · 27/03/2020 14:25

Deaths are from 5pm 25th to 5pm yesterday
Cases are from 9am yesterday to 9am today

WhoWants2Know · 27/03/2020 14:26

I think this is the second 24 hour period reported. The previous lot covered the gap from 9am to 5pm when they moved the reporting time

loobyloo1234 · 27/03/2020 14:29

This is a 24 hour period. And that number is incredibly high for one day. So sad

Horehound · 27/03/2020 14:30

@mrshoho oh dear that is a very sobering read. I hope you are ok. The main thing is he won't be going to work anymore and that will have been the biggest risk. If you follow all protocols and maybe suggest washing your clothes and having a shower after visiting your relatives then I'm sure you'll be in a good position to protect him. Try not to worry

Jade1976 · 27/03/2020 14:36

Worldometers 16% oc resolved cases dead.

JemimaPuddleCat · 27/03/2020 14:38

I find it incredibly sad that most people don't seem to care about the rest of the UK.

JemimaPuddleCat · 27/03/2020 14:38

*most people here

Bessica1970 · 27/03/2020 14:39

Skittless - the visitors sound really irresponsible, but deliveries are ok. Most delivery companies are leaving things on door steps, knocking then watching from a distance until the door has been opened.

Horehound · 27/03/2020 14:42

What do you mean @JemimaPuddleCat

Derbygerbil · 27/03/2020 14:43

182 deaths yesterday.... 😔

Helenj1977 · 27/03/2020 14:46

More closures will be announced today /tomorrow.

RedToothBrush · 27/03/2020 14:47

New York is getting desperate.

Adam Klasfeld @klasfeldreports
"A New York hospital system has begun treating two patients instead of one on some ventilators, a desperate measure that could help alleviate a shortage of the critical breathing machines..."

‘The Other Option Is Death’: New York Starts Sharing of Ventilators
To keep coronavirus patients breathing, hospitals are pioneering a little-tested method.

Horehound · 27/03/2020 14:51

I'm sure Italy split ventilators four ways. Sad

MurrayTheMonk · 27/03/2020 14:52

181 deaths here since yesterday? Sorry I'm in and out as on phone to work (more staff off sick, spoke too sooner earlier in the week when I could see light at end of tunnel)

FingonTheValiant · 27/03/2020 14:53

This is the 2nd 24 hour period. From 5pm on the 25th to 5pm on the 26th. The numbers announced yesterday were for 5pm on the 24th to 5pm on the 25th.
The number announced on the 25th covered a half day (ish) from 9am on the 24th to 5pm on the 24th. So no averaging required for either today’s numbers or yesterday’s numbers, unfortunately.

I haven’t seen the separated out numbers for Wales and NI yet, does anyone know them? I saw Scotland is at 8 deaths, which I think takes them to 33 total Sad

SistemaAddict · 27/03/2020 15:14

Good god. RIP.

Lots of threads asking how long "all this" will go on for. Answers vary but school never just emailed to say they've been told to prepare for closures to carry on into the next academic year. Not for the first time, I'm glad I'm a SAHM. I was so excited about going back to work soon and a change of career but it's now on hold. It's not important right now though.

justchecking1 · 27/03/2020 15:26

Wales had 6 new deaths I think? Puts us at 34

NettleTea · 27/03/2020 15:30

we have moved up another place. We were in 10th for most of this, then 2 days ago went up to 9th, now 8th
