No I mean 1542 ffs

AvocadoOwl · 25/03/2020 22:01

Looks like the US will be catching up with Italy in terms of cases soon.

defthand · 25/03/2020 22:01

@HangingOverTheEdge

Could be. It’s showing 1542 cases on the government dashboard:

www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/f94c3c90da5b4e9f9a0b19484dd4bb14

If it’s really 1452 the gov needs to fix that up.

Choo975 · 25/03/2020 22:01

Certainly worrying that we have gone from 80 odd year olds with underlying health issues to a 21 and 47 year old with none.

Horehound · 25/03/2020 22:02

I would out money on those two people having unknown underlying health conditions

CrunchyCarrot · 25/03/2020 22:04

So it's 465 deaths, not 468. Amended chart. And off to bed! Take care everyone. xx

or vaping there is a lung disease caused by vaping that could be exacerbated by this

AvocadoOwl · 25/03/2020 22:04

I think it's important to remember that otherwise healthy young people can die of influenza too. It's rare but it happens.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 25/03/2020 22:07

I can't understand crunchy chart...

Alwayscheerful · 25/03/2020 22:07

Yes My guess they Transposed the digits.

True avacado

Horehound · 25/03/2020 22:08

So 1542 is more realistic?

Alwayscheerful · 25/03/2020 22:09

Maybe The deaths are still at yesterday's number.

NemophilistRebel · 25/03/2020 22:10

@CrunchyCarrot it’s looking positive for us for now then 🤞🏻
Hopefully we don’t spike again soon

defthand · 25/03/2020 22:11

Well it says 1542 on the government dashboard, but the total on the dashboard is wrong therefore. Because we know there were 8077 all up until this update.

I’d guess it’s really 1452 but they messed up the data entry.

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 22:11

The deaths aren’t at yesterday’s number, click on now, then click on yesterday, you can see the difference. Why do you keep posting they are the same?

Horehound · 25/03/2020 22:11

@Lifesavesocialdistance that chart shows where Italy were and where we were 2 weeks in from them and a comparison to see how our rates were increasing. I've were we going to be on the same curve as Italy. Luckily this shows we are not like for like any more as we were on their 7th march. We were marching death for death bit now we do not have so many deaths per day which is a good sign.

Horehound · 25/03/2020 22:12

Yes @Alwayscheerful the deaths HAVE been updated! +43

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 22:14

Interesting the USA has a huge drop today too.

We were both trialing the same anti viral. The Uk did not announce its name, but one of the speakers at trumps conference said it was them and the Uk trialing it.

Interesting we both started trialling a cure at the same time, and we have both seen a big reduction in deaths at the same time,

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 22:16

USA down from 225 yesterday to 133 today,,,

DadDadDad · 25/03/2020 22:16

@CrunchyCarrot - I think you took a chart of mine and have been updated it (which is absolutely fine by me) - here's mine if you want to fill the gaps?

I was always very wary of using Italy to predict where the UK will be in two weeks time, even when the numbers matched exactly on 21 March. But Italy at least provides a sad yardstick of what the worst could look like and for now it's some comfort to see UK deaths have not been climbing as fast since the 21 March. (That said, Spain is now providing an even worse picture than Italy).

Horehound · 25/03/2020 22:21

@bluntness100 the USA is still hours behind us and update constantly I think so I don't think we can conclusively say that?

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 22:24

I’m just looking at worldometer and comparing the two sets of stats published for the USA.

AvocadoOwl · 25/03/2020 22:34

Yes, US figures tend to jump overnight.
