41 new deaths
87 yesterday
46 deaths less than yesterday,

I think they have uploaded the new cases today but still need to update the number of deaths.

Stressful and confusing! like everything lately tbf

I can see 1452 new cases

Looks like 43 deaths

No the number of deaths is updated

Weirdly worldometer has different numbers for today.

1452 new cases and 43 deaths

1427 new cases yesterday and 87 deaths.

They might still be waiting for the 21 year olds CV test results given they are taking several days.

All the news reports seem to be based on what the family have said rather than official sources.

Also makes you feel ghoulish waiting for the numbers, but numbers show how we're doing.

The lower death rate may make people complacent though.

Sadly, I think the deaths are still to be updated.

Oh my goodness poor Italy they are have a horrendous time

Doesn't make sense the deaths are less.

I wonder if they are treating people with the trial drugs? The Uk has given very little info on their human trials. Just when they started them and then little to no info.

@Alwayscheerful bit they have them on the worldometer site so how can they be wrong?

I'm dubious about where Worldometers is getting the figure for new cases from - it could well be right, but I can't see it in it's listed sources, and the official sites haven't updated it. As far as I'm aware, Worldometers just updates from other sources.

The lack of official update could be an admin error, I guess; I can't imagine that they'll update at this time?

Our curve is dropping well below Italy's thankfully! They had almost double the deaths at this point.

The source they cite for it is a Sky news article reporting what the family have said though, rather than anyone official.

It's desperately sad regardless of what she died of but clearly it's not a cut and dried case otherwise she'd be in the official figures (which say the youngest today was 47).

Yesterday’s total was 8077. Today’s is 9529 according to the dashboard. Yet the dashboard also says we have 1542 new cases today. The maths doesn’t add up!

I'm going to add in the number the BBC said earlier, 468 deaths. If it proves to be wrong I'll change it later. Today's updated numbers from Italy as well:
