Reading through the stuff on the medical site you posted clearly says that COVID 19 causes diminished T lymphocytes. But that is what virus do. As does aging and various others things.

Sometimes we can read that this does scary sounding things forgetting that a lot of viruses do.

Have the England figures ever been this late before?

riotlady · 25/03/2020 19:02

Have the England figures ever been this late before?

I don’t think so, I’m finding it a bit unnerving tbh!

CricketCrocket · 25/03/2020 19:05

Don’t they normally tweet we’re working hard to get the figures etc etc?

Helenj1977 · 25/03/2020 19:05

Never been this late, ever.

Horehound · 25/03/2020 19:07

@imerc you are just talking about rubbish. Please stop it.
It doesn't kill off your immune system. It might deplete it for a little why and then you make a recovery and then it gets stronger again.

Re. "Restricting the internet" again you're talking crap. Google may review topics being discussed and pick and choose what is being shown the same as YouTube. But that isn't "restricting the internet"...I mean what does that even mean?! You don't understand how it works, clearly! Stop now!

Imerc · 25/03/2020 19:10

This is a nice discussion

Lifesavesocialdistance · 25/03/2020 19:12

Any new figures yet?

Delatron · 25/03/2020 19:15

They tweeted earlier on about 2/3pm
I think about working hard on the figures. This is very late.

FeatherCastle · 25/03/2020 19:15

Bercows it could be because off licences tend to be the only places you can get gas and electric meter keys topped up, since companies stopped supermarkets being able to do that around end of last year?

SistemaAddict · 25/03/2020 19:17

I never knew that about off licenses. I'm thinking of places like bargain booze and going back a fair few years, Victoria Wine and Thresher. Of course the corner shops sold booze too but they weren't the same. Not here anyway.

CrapTVAddict · 25/03/2020 19:22

Sorry just catching up, has Boris done his waffle yet on tv? Can anyone sum up his waffle? Thanks

peridito · 25/03/2020 19:26

@CrapTVAddict

have a look here at 18.18

Caught up. Missed BJ my timings all out today with WFH and teaching DC

Givemeabreakpls · 25/03/2020 19:27

Oh dear, the lack of figures is worrying me.

EightNineTen · 25/03/2020 19:28

Why are the figures always quite late on in the day, when they are released they say it's the figures "as of 9am". What takes so long afterwards?

FeatherCastle · 25/03/2020 19:29

I know this because I rent. I'm a high earner, rented the same place for years but my landlord refused to allow fuel on account. Closure of off licences more likely to affect renters I would think.

JayDot500 · 25/03/2020 19:29

Sometimes you get the feeling they are forever waiting on that one hospital that never updates them on time despite being on their case

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 25/03/2020 19:29

I think a couple of the latest figures now state 'as of 1pm' if I recall correctly.

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 19:30

It is much later than usual today. Very odd.

NemophilistRebel · 25/03/2020 19:30

Just a small jump in figures for day for the U.K.

defthand · 25/03/2020 19:31

@IronNeonClasp

Boris waffled at 5.

Summary: “Spiffy new test coming soon. Game changer. We are not to blame for anything. We are looking after self-employed people. More on that tomorrow.”

CMO: “I must stress these tests have to be reliable before we release them. Bad tests are worse than no tests—“

CSO: ”—It’s a game changer! We’ll be able to survey the population and get you all back to work.”
