And 5210 new Italian cases.

Janemarpling · 25/03/2020 17:45

It was part of the modelling. Italy is rising of the order of 500 a day.

We may have the same but need to spread it over a longer period.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 25/03/2020 17:45

Ah right. Gosh, still so bad.

Imerc · 25/03/2020 17:47

It does kill off some of the immune system. That won't help immunity.

namechangemania · 25/03/2020 17:49

It’s 17:50 and still no figures! Shock

Horehound · 25/03/2020 17:50

What are you talking about @imerc ? Where's the source to that?

Coquohvan · 25/03/2020 17:51

My memory is fuzzy around what happened and when. I am thinking that there was one case in China someone fought it twice but there was also an explanation to it. Again fuzzy memory.

We MAY have a vaccine to it, by the end of next year possibly if I am remembering the dates correctly. Apologies if not.

Coquohvan · 25/03/2020 17:52

@Imerc where is The link to your statement plz.

SistemaAddict · 25/03/2020 17:58

Why the fuck are people crowding to parks and driving there? Because people are thick and bozo gave them too many loopholes. I've logged back into Facebook for this to keep up with things locally and I saw that Hyde park and threatening to close the park because people are eejits. And plenty of local selling groups offering items. Non essential items that is. Admins should have not allowed posts that encourage people to go out.

Brown&pointy is not very friendly. We used to have a lovely street but it's gone downhill over the past couple of years as less friendly people have moved in. I've tried to be friendly and he's not one for returning the friendliness. Within a safe distance obviously.

TheCanterburyWhales · 25/03/2020 17:59

The head of the Protezione Civile who gives the press conference in Italy every day has tested positive and has a fever. The PM is speaking at the moment and there hasn't been the usual 6pm televised update yet.

Imerc · 25/03/2020 18:00

I don't have links but if you read a few studies on patients

peridito · 25/03/2020 18:01

@Coquohvan - when that was discussed previously I think someone said that it was always possible for some people to get a virus caused illness twice .Not common ,rare ,but possible .

BeyondMymymymyCorona · 25/03/2020 18:03

I definitely read something somewhere along those lines imerc, cause I remember thinking "oh cool - perhaps if it doesn't kill me it will at least dampen down my overactive immune system?"

Horehound · 25/03/2020 18:04

No @imerc. You don't say it "kills off" part of the immune system when you have no idea. You've read some patients stories...big deal?

FingonTheValiant · 25/03/2020 18:08

Coquohvan I think that’s looking to be really rare. However it is worrying me. I’ve had chicken pox twice, whooping cough twice despite being vaccinated, and when I was pregnant with DS1 I showed up non-immune to rubella, despite having had all my vaccinations and boosters as a child, a further booster during a mumps epidemic at university, and yet another booster when I worked in a healthcare setting. Literally 2 years later I had no immunity again.
But it’s worrying me because I’ve got form for not gaining immunity. Hopefully most people will be fine.

Imerc · 25/03/2020 18:08

Well usually if someone is sick the immune system is over reactive. With covid it's depleted. Look for the information, it is right in front of you. I'm not your teacher

MurrayTheMonk · 25/03/2020 18:10

Is that still down on the daily figure for Italy?

confusedandtired99 · 25/03/2020 18:11

Strange the figures haven’t been released yet.

CricketCrocket · 25/03/2020 18:11

Final UK figures are really late today

FingonTheValiant · 25/03/2020 18:11

It’s down from yesterday. But yesterday was up from the two days before.

FingonTheValiant · 25/03/2020 18:14

Sorry that was to Murray.

Peacocking · 25/03/2020 18:16

I live in the isle of man. Currently 23 cases confirmed, one hospitalised. Tomorrow evening our borders are being closed totally, even to residents who are unfortunate enough not to be able to get back in time . No passenger planes, no passengers on the ferry from tomorrow evening, only freight. Also we are on lockdown-lite like the mainland.

SistemaAddict · 25/03/2020 18:22

I've just read that off licenses have been classed as essential and can stay open. Wtf. The world has gone stark raving mad.

Quartz2208 · 25/03/2020 18:24

@Imerc the whole point of this thread is to share information from proper sources. If you have found patient studies to show that please link them rather than making comments.

Indeed this says the opposite

What has been said is that it is unclear how long the immunity will last - its longetvity simply because it has not been around for very long
