@littledrummergirl 😫 You couldn't make it up.

littledrummergirl · 24/03/2020 20:35

@mrshoho Tell me about it!

This may have been mentioned before
Has anyone seen the App from Kings College Hospital launched today. Was talked about on Channel 4 earlier. Covid symptom tracker Self report symptoms daily. Help slow the outbreak. Identify those at risk sooner.
Download the App (I just searched google) and then spread the word to get as many people doing it, in the absence of testing, as possible

BNO Newsroom - 'NEW: Los Angeles County reports first child death in the U.S. linked to coronavirus; no further details.'

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 20:52

By number not name - my friend has the same first letter of his surname as me and he got it hours before me.

SixDrinkAmy · 24/03/2020 20:58

My mum got her message hours before me and we have the same surname.

Beth Rigby - 'On the lockdown & enforcement. Govt perhaps just needs 75% of us to observe rules rather than everyone

On Fri, PM a 75% reduction in gatherings as target when he closed bars etc.

On Mon, stricter measures cos not enough compliance. Will it do trick? If not, tougher lockdown?'

SixDrinkAmy · 24/03/2020 21:00

Can we share the app on FB? Great initiative.

woodencoffeetable · 24/03/2020 21:02

it always comes down to enforcement...
but police forces have been drastically reduced the fast few years.

RedToothBrush · 24/03/2020 21:07

My number is currently registered in DHs name not mine. So it's nothing to do with name.

Crimples · 24/03/2020 21:18

@MidtoLon I posted a short while ago about it, I’ve shared it all over, think it’s a great idea 👍

CrunchyCarrot · 24/03/2020 21:35

Does that app work on Android devices? Seems to be only for Apple devices.

lemonjumper · 24/03/2020 21:39

Android link can be found here: covid.joinzoe.com/ or direct link here: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joinzoe.covid_zoe

AvocadoOwl · 24/03/2020 21:43

Is this app definitely legit? It's asking for an awful lot of very specific personal information?

TheRoyalTinker · 24/03/2020 22:09

Report on my local Facebook page from an aunt to say her 21 year old niece died today from Coronavirus. No underlying health issues. Really sad. Anyone with teenagers/older children a stark wake up that it's not just older people.

MidtoLon · 24/03/2020 22:10

The App was launched today. Epidemiologist from Kings College was talking about it on Channel 4 earlier. It was also mentioned on the Guardian Coronavirus blog and is on Kings College Hospital website. I guess they need the personal information to understand how the virus is affecting different people.

AvocadoOwl · 24/03/2020 22:13

Thanks for the app reassurance! Don't mind giving information if it's legit, I'm just wary these days!

AvocadoOwl · 24/03/2020 22:13

That's awful about the 21 if it's true.

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 22:18

21 from no health issues would be one of the youngest in the world and they might not be many younger with no risk factors.

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 24/03/2020 22:21

Re the app - you don’t have to give your phone number or real name. It works fine without those. I also used our “spam” email address rather than my usual one.

I completed it for ds(10) who’s got a a fever in the 38s and 39s, a horrible cough, sore throat, and is exhausted. We’re hoping it’s not Coronavirus, but whatever it is has completely wiped him out Sad

TheRoyalTinker · 24/03/2020 22:22

It looks legitimate. Aunt is from Camberley, so possibly Frimley Hospital if niece was also in the area. I don't believe it's fake unfortunately.
