Beth Rigby - 'Am told London’s intensive care units are not nearly full but “we need to keep ahead” '

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 17:34

George Parker -'Hancock: "TfL should have the Tube running in full." Khan's spokesman: "Nearly a third of staff are already absent." In other words, we can't run a full service and we've told you so. Khan wants construction workers to stay at home..Hancock says no. Tensions high.'

Trump says he may soon push businesses to reopen, defying the advice of coronavirus experts

onalongsabbatical · 24/03/2020 17:39

Blasted neighbours have got visitors in their garden, not from their household. Thought they were intelligent responsible people. Obviously not.

woodencoffeetable · 24/03/2020 17:42

some italien corona patients have been moved to germany

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 17:44

After thursday report them to the police.

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 17:45

CBC News Alerts - 'Trump repeats claim that U.S. not built to be shut down, predicts 'suicides by the thousands' if businesses don't reopen soon. Compares coronavirus pandemic to 'horrible flu' or rash of car crashes, says he'd 'love' to see country reopen by Easter (April 12).'

Petiolaris · 24/03/2020 17:56

Based at the Excel exhibition centre, it will consist of two wards and hold up to 4,000 patients
That’s isn’t a ward for treatment. They can’t possibly treat that many patients. That’s a place to send people to die.

TheCanterburyWhales · 24/03/2020 17:56

The mass exodus from north to south was the night of the 7th. That's why close eyes are on the south in the coming days.

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:02

Making the excel a place for mass deaths will probably end it as an exhibition centre as it be seen as somewhere too sombre.

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:02

Lewis Goodall - 'NEW: Trump says he wants US opened up and “raring to go” by Easter.

Few experts think that’s remotely likely or desirable...'

ChillyColdBottle · 24/03/2020 18:04

Does anyone know about recovery?

If you have had mild symptoms, should you continue to self isolate for 2 weeks after all symptoms have gone?

Offredismysister · 24/03/2020 18:05

@Petiolaris I said the same to my DH.
That’ll be rows of camp beds with people dying on them.

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:09

My guess is the excel will eventually then get demolished - who will want to have fun there if it becomes the symbol of mass death.

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:15

Tim Donovan 'TSSA first union to weigh in against @MattHancock
‘The idea that the Tube can run with a normal service level is utter nonsense. Thirty per cent of Underground staff are either off sick as a result of COVID-19 or in self-isolation.’ #coronavirus'

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:17

My parents are stupid - completely in denial that our new sofa will not be coming in a fortnight - and even if it did we have to dump the old one as the tip is closed.

Crimples · 24/03/2020 18:28

Posted this on a separate thread but it’s been swallowed up.
Seen a few people mention this app, might be useful to scientists to help track the uk spread (seeing as how our government don’t seem to be trying 😠)
It only requires you to do a daily entry (you don’t need to have any symptoms) and the information it asked for was minimal in terms of identification.

confusedandtired99 · 24/03/2020 18:39

So let me get this straight... todays update was basically a load of rubbish? Is that right?

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:40

Tim Donovan - 'Tube went to weekend services and then there was stuff absenteeism says @MayorofLondon
justifying fact it’s got very crowded.'

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:40

Lewis Goodall - 'UPDATE: I’m told Sports Direct employees have just been told they don’t have to come in tomorrow. those on perm contracts will definitely be paid for the next month, though there’s a lack of clarity as to what’ll happen after that. Those on 0 hour contracts won’t be so lucky...'

Rinoachicken · 24/03/2020 18:42

Actually I reckon the excel will be a place to move patients out of ICU to, when they are over the worst, and those not yet needing ICU - so they can move people in and out of ICU easier and quicker - only having people in there as strictly necessary

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:58

Double exclamation mark
ITALY
Flag of Italy
: the government could extend the restrictive measures by the #COVIDー19 until the month of July.

The Government leaves the door open to apply its measures for periods of no more than 30 days at a time, until the summer.

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 18:59

Sky News Breaking - 'French health officials say the number of deaths from COVID-19 is now at 1,100 up from 860 becoming the fifth country to report more than a 1,000 deaths.'

AutumnRose1 · 24/03/2020 19:02

Angry 30 days at a time, does that mean there’d be a break or can they just implement another 30 days on day 29?
