DD(13) thinks he can carry on his paper round. I say no.

Who is right?

I’d of thought allotment is fine providing not mixing with anyone else. Especially if it’s providing you with food and exercise.

Spied · 23/03/2020 21:29

No. Paper delivery isn't essential. It could actually be classed as a luxury.
I certainly wouldn't want my DS out delivering papers today.
Allotment- think I'd go if I could be sure I'd see noone and it's producing food for your family.

2010Aussie · 23/03/2020 21:29

Go to your allotment - it's exercise. I really don't think that the police are going to turn up and drag you away.

TeaAndDarkToast · 23/03/2020 21:33

If it's a toilet paper round then he is classed as key worker

Pinkarsedfly · 23/03/2020 21:34

Oh my fucking god.

NO allotment
NO paper round

Jesus

Quickquestion2020 · 23/03/2020 21:34

I think he can, its work he cant do from home. And it's pretty essential to a lot of elderly people to keep them in the loop.

lifeisgoodmostofthetime · 23/03/2020 21:34

No he can't

bookworm14 · 23/03/2020 21:36

Why are people being so dense? He couldn’t have been clearer.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 23/03/2020 21:36

Why no paper round?

It can't be done from home.

dementedma · 23/03/2020 21:36

Fucks sake! It's not hard to understand. STAY AT HOME.

BoingBoingyBoing · 23/03/2020 21:37

"What’s to stop people all heading off to Mount Snowdon again and claiming it’s their exercise for the day?"

A functioning brain?

Grufallosfriends · 23/03/2020 21:37

No of course he can't!

IpeartreeI · 23/03/2020 21:37

What if the cat takes ill. Can you go to the vets?

Funkytowns · 23/03/2020 21:38

I’d have thought allotment would be fine. It’s exercise and food and it’s solitary.

Grufallosfriends · 23/03/2020 21:38

*Why no paper round?
*
It can't be done from home

But he should stay at home and not potentially spread the virus on his paper round!!

NameChangedToProtect1 · 23/03/2020 21:40

I'd say the paper Round is probably not within the permitted activities. The allotment could be ok if it's not busy / close contact. It's good exercise, provides food.

Kinneddar · 23/03/2020 21:41

Surely the newsagents will be closed anyway it's only food shops that are allowed to remain open.

I cant believe how many threads there are on here asking if people can do x y or z. It's a lockdown. You stay home unless its absolutely essential.

I'd love to be able to stay safe at home for the next few weeks but as an emergency services worker I have to work

PertEllaTitsahoy · 23/03/2020 21:41

What if your house is on fire?

What if a pack of badgers invade your house?

Jeeeeeeeesus......

NaviSprite · 23/03/2020 21:42

I'd say probably not given that he could easily be exposed to the virus from collecting the newspapers and then unwittingly spread it via delivering said newspapers?

TeaAndDarkToast · 23/03/2020 21:42

Did the badgers start the fire?

Pentium85 · 23/03/2020 21:42

On this sort of topic, my business involves sending parcels, I obviously have to go to the post office to send these. Can I still do that? Otherwise no income from the business...

TinklyLittleLaugh · 23/03/2020 21:42

Newsagents are allowed to stay open apparently.

OP posts:
FedUpWithThisToday · 23/03/2020 21:43

I assume a paper round can't be done from home. So I'd say he's allowed to go as he's a 'delivery person'.

PertEllaTitsahoy · 23/03/2020 21:44

Did the badgers start the fire?

If I say yes can I leave the house?

Itsmybirthdaytoday20 · 23/03/2020 21:45

What is it with allotments on here tonight!
