DD(13) thinks he can carry on his paper round. I say no.

Who is right?

OP posts:
ree348 · 23/03/2020 21:11

You're right. He can't do the paper round.

unambiguousbeard · 23/03/2020 21:12

No idea. Can I go to my allotment?

Fucking vague as ever

SunnySomer · 23/03/2020 21:12

I’d say yes as it keeps all the recipients out of the shop.

sootynsweep · 23/03/2020 21:13

How about transporting children between parents who have shared custody...?

DivGirl · 23/03/2020 21:13

No he cannot go to his paper round, no you cannot go to your allotment.

What part of stay home unless you are shopping for food or going to a medical appointment is so difficult to interpret?

AlexaShutUp · 23/03/2020 21:13

No

SunnySomer · 23/03/2020 21:13

However if it was my ds I wouldn’t want him to do it.

Apolloanddaphne · 23/03/2020 21:13

I would think it might be considered his exercise for the day and he would be providing a sterling service for the people who he delivers to assuming they are probably quite elderly?

JamesNesbittsBrows · 23/03/2020 21:14

No paper round, no allotment, choose one place of residence for child.

Fairenuff · 23/03/2020 21:15

No.

IceKitten · 23/03/2020 21:15

He can do the paper round.

No to the allotment.

PlanDeRaccordement · 23/03/2020 21:15

If it’s his job... you can leave the house to do work and not everyone has the internet. Those papers may be the only way to communicate restrictions and such to the residents.

unhappyclap · 23/03/2020 21:15

No, he is not a key worker. He can only leave for exercie, food or medicines.

He cannot say the paper round is exercise, when it is actually work.

I think the instruction has been pretty clear, if people (not talking about your son) don't get it after this, then I imagine the govt will bring in the army or something!

gigi556 · 23/03/2020 21:16

I was hoping the allotment would fall into one form of exercise...

daisypond · 23/03/2020 21:17

It’s still all too vague. What’s to stop people all heading off to Mount Snowdon again and claiming it’s their exercise for the day?

LastTrainEast · 23/03/2020 21:19

People can get news online. Rule of thumb. "Is it possible to avoid this contact" if the answer is yes then don't do it. Why increase the danger?

unambiguousbeard · 23/03/2020 21:19

Allotment is exercise and I get food from there.

AllForAnEasyLife · 23/03/2020 21:20

It’s a job that she can’t do from home so yes she is fine to do it

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 23/03/2020 21:21

@unhappyclap he didn't specify all non-key workers to stop work. He said only go to work if you really really can't work from home.

IsadoraQuagmire · 23/03/2020 21:21

I would absolutely count the allotment as both exercise AND obtaining food.

ripples101 · 23/03/2020 21:21

What’s to stop people all heading off to Mount Snowdon again and claiming it’s their exercise for the day?

—————

Nothing.

But they are idiots if they can’t understand the reasons why they shouldn’t do that.

Honestly, Boris’ statement this evening is as clear as day. Only idiots or ignorant people won’t understand it.

And quite frankly I’m sick of idiots and ignorant people.

Guttersnipe · 23/03/2020 21:22

I'd say yes you can go to your allotment once a day and yes your sb can do his job. I still have to leave the house to go to my job. Surely lots of people do?

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 23/03/2020 21:22

no you cannot go to your allotment

Why not? It’s solitary exercise and enables food to be grown.

AlfieandAnnieRose · 23/03/2020 21:24

@daisypond sorry but that properly made me laugh 🤣

Grufallosfriends · 23/03/2020 21:24

No paper round.
No allotment.
Choose one place of residence for child.

We are all supposed to stay at home for 3 weeks!
