Oh no, it’ll be worth it though! Yummy fresh bread! Reminds me of the time a shelf of books fell off DD’s bedroom wall (thankfully nowhere near her) right next to the baby monitor, which was turned up high, in the middle of the night

Speaker for baby monitor was right next to my ear- I thought an asteroid had landed on the house Blush

ExpletiveDelighted · 29/03/2020 08:36

That happened to me too Millie, only I was in the room at the time and caught the shelves as they came down, all the books slid off around me and I was stranded holding up a full height set of shelves and brackets (which extended down behind a chest of drawers) till DH got home, the DCs fetched me the phone. It really shook me up.

M0reGinPlease · 29/03/2020 09:03

Was your bread machine okay @tobee ?!

Spudlet · 29/03/2020 09:23

Oh no, @tobee! Hope the machine is ok 🤞😬

It’s trying to snow here! ❄️

Morning all,

Spent an hour and a half in a queue for the boots website this morning only to find that nothing was in stock, not even my face powder. Total and utter waste of time!! Angry

Here is your daily dose of Henry for those who enjoy it.

@tobee that happened to me a few weeks back. I had bread in the machine, went up to vacuum, came back to bread machine on the floor. It had fallen with such force that it had took the plastic from the plug socket with it! (Which DH still hasn’t fixed actually Hmm.

Luckily, although the bread machine was open, the dough was still in it so I just picked it up and continued the cycle like it never happenedGrin. We think either the paddle wasn’t in properly or it was too close to the edge and when kneading it rocked off the side!

Hope your bread machine is okay (and plug socket!) xx

Hearing about feathers... we filled a huge bean bag for DD. Both me and DH are pretty clueless, we did it on our drive outside... a gravel drive...this was years ago.
Cue trying to pour the little polystyrene beads in as DH holds the beanbag... yep all over the drive. Can still spot some now all these years later Grin

Here is some AMAZING news!

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 29/03/2020 10:01

For those of you talking about beanbag issues - it could be worse...

(Not my cat, but I remembered seeing the photo online!)

More good news -

M0reGinPlease · 29/03/2020 10:12

That is great news indeed @Arcadia

Also, talking about peaks, I think considering they were originally saying the peak would come in May/June and now they're expecting it in the next few weeks, I'd say the way things are going is incredibly positive. Just think, in a few weeks we'll be in the decline and all this will feel so much more manageable.

M0reGinPlease · 29/03/2020 10:13

@Arcadia both good news articles but I was referring to Nazanin. That woman's release is LONG overdue.

Pinkarsedfly · 29/03/2020 10:14

Bunnyflop do I spy ‘Henners’ written on your bunny’s play house?

If so, that’s what we call my grown-up DS, and for some reason him having the same nickname as your lovely bun has really tickled me Grin

Spudlet · 29/03/2020 10:20

@Zoidbergonthehalfshell OMG, that made me laugh. They must have had to hoover the poor thing! 🙈🤣

Read an article about Spain today which was very sad so I won’t share it, but a doctor was quoted saying this and I thought it was a good sentiment to hold onto:

‘....we’re not in a well. We’re in a tunnel. We may not be able to see the exit right now, but there will be a light at the end.”

A tunnel, not a well.

Morning
Loving the pic of the bunny standing up. Looks so soft. Madame cat has gone back to bed in disgust after DD measured her tail as part of the home learning we are doing - “weights and measures”

I’m weird surely but am enjoying the peace, no urge to do anything, the permission to just potter. DD is playing with water and I’m cleaning. Bliss.

purpleme12 · 29/03/2020 10:33

I do so appreciate the bunny pictures

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 10:33

I'm the same @Siameasy no pressure to do anything exciting or ambitious at the weekend, just pottering.

Arcadia · 29/03/2020 10:34

And my best friend is improving - she's had suspected CV since Wednesday and is feeling better now

Bunnyflop · 29/03/2020 10:37

@Pinkarsedfly yes, ds’ wrote ‘HENNER’S HOME’ on Henry’s cardboard box. Most of the time though he gets called fur monster, lovely boy or just plain old Henry.

I hope what you say is true about the peak being earlier @M0reGinPlease , the only thing keeping me going is the hope that I can visit the sea this summer and go to a garden centre. Most of the time I’m running on fear and adrenaline.

AsMuchUseAsAMarzipanDildo · 29/03/2020 10:38

I’m so so happy for Nazanin. My heart breaks for her, her daughter and her husband.

DaffodilThatch · 29/03/2020 10:47

Thanks for all the good news @Arcadia. Excellent about Nazanin - hope this might be the beginning of the end of that nightmare.

On a personal good news front, just a small thing but we've discovered that the pies from our local butchers are amazing, and we've ordered another for next week. This is a big deal, as DH is quite the foodie and usually absolutely everything has to be made from scratch. So in addition to the easy, yummy dinner, I'm looking forward to an evening of minimal washing up!

CheerfulBunny · 29/03/2020 10:53

I just wanted to say thank you for this thread. I feel so full of despair sometimes and reading things here helps so much. The stuff posted last night about progress has picked me up today. I am a naturally optimistic person but it's so hard to keep it up when there's worst case scenarios everywhere and times are tough. Thank You!

Wellwhatalovelyday · 29/03/2020 10:54

I’m echoing @CheerfulBunny. I have never known anxiety like this. It’s not me at all. This thread is helping, please please keep finding the positives.

magimedi · 29/03/2020 11:06

I think it was Spudlet who talked about naming her anxiety & telling it wher eto go!

I followed her advice & when I fell it starting I say P......., you are not me, you are not magimedi & just fuck off.

I am amazed how well it works.
